WASHINGTON -- White House Advisor Karl Rove was the target of a protest on the American University campus Tuesday night, NBC 4 reported.Do you see that? DO YOU!!! They actually waited for the police to get these filthy hippies out of the way before the car was moved!Rove was on the campus to talk to the College Republicans, but he got outside more than a dozen students began throwing things at him and at his car, an American University spokesperson said.
The students then got on the ground and laid down in front of his car as a protest.
The students said security officials picked them up and carried them away so Rove could leave.
It's a damned conspiracy. Curse you Karl Rove!!!!
UPDATE by Rusty: Seems relevant to the kind of campus they have at American University: Former foreign minister to the African Taliban once worked for American University.

I love how even the hardened LLL's like Stewart can't defend Iran. Iran is so blantant that short the delusional type like Rosie and such see them for what they are. A Enemy without doubt.
Stewart's Honesty when speaking to Iran "we are doin all we can over here to stop sir bombs alot and what the hell are you guys doing?". Would be nice if the Democratic party could be so honest, in that they have no desire to win Iraq just end it and get back over here as soon as possible so they can get back to important stuff like making sure the government becomes both mother/father & God to all people of the US. More dependents on governement = more Democratic bot voters.

Tell us, Mr. President, how have things changed since the last broadcasters' dinner?"A year ago my approval rating was in the 30s, my nominee for the Supreme Court had just withdrawn, and my vice president had shot someone," President Bush said Wednesday night during the annual gathering.
"Ah," he said, "those were the good ol' days."

The narrative says it all. The boss is 'nice', well-liked, easily upset, in other words, not a good 'alpha' female, because she is not dominant enough to clearly control her staff. All social animals struggle for dominance, and wolves, for example, hate to have a weak leader. If things come to a fight (other wolf packs, predator attacks), the leader must step up, know what to do, and lead courageously from the front. If other pack members sense weakness, they challenge because they need strong leadership to survive, so they want to step up and try it. This is what this staff member did, obviously a dominant person, challenged the boss because she sensed weakness, and an inability to lead.

Great, but the reference might be better as "The Revelation to Al" or "The Gospel According to St. Gore".
The verse might be 16:3 as supposedly Gore said that he believes in "John 16:3" (instead of 3:16). It's kinda funny when you read what that verse says.

The Democrats seem to be basically nicer people, but they have demonstrated time and again that they have the management skills of celery. They're the kind of people who'd stop to help you change a flat, but would somehow manage to set your car on fire. I would be reluctant to entrust them with a Cuisinart, let alone the economy. The Republicans, on the other hand, would know how to fix your tire, but they wouldn't bother to stop because they'd want to be on time for Ugly Pants Night at the country club.Linky.

At least 11 people died and more than 100 people were injured at an annual spring festival in eastern Pakistan celebrated with the flying of thousands of colorful kites, officials said Monday. What the HELL was going on there?!!The deaths and injuries were caused by stray bullets, sharpened kite-strings, electrocution and people falling off rooftops on Sunday at the conclusion of the two-day Basant festival, said Ruqia Bano, spokeswoman for the emergency services in the city of Lahore.
I'm not so sure about Pakistan anymore - they can't even fly kites without killing each other (or themselves.)
UPDATE: Gateway Pundit notes that 861 people have been killed between 2000 and last year in this kite-flying festival. Discuss.

I'm surprised they lifted the ban on kite flying- unless these people were just ignoring it. I can't believe they made it a sport to see how many people's kite strings you can cut- no, wait I can. These people are like crabs in a pot- you don't need a lid, because they keep dragging each other down.

The problem with this show (or rather shows of this nature) is that, while they're quite skilled logicians, they may lack specialist knowledge of a subject they're examining, and then not give it its full due. For example, with they're previously mentioned episode on the Bible, they probably hit all the Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson types, but failed to look up men like Alvin Plantinga, William Lane Craig, Os Guinness, or N.T. Wright. And it also doesn't help having a couple of atheists do a show on it either (no bias there...).

Gillette may dismiss dihydrogen monoxide as nothing to worry about, but it should be noted that's it's in all of our rivers, lakes, oceans, and even our bodies. Who wants the chemical elements that form oxidane in our reservoirs? Who wants to take a shower in Hydric acid? Should fresh produce be rinsed with hydrogen hydroxide? Is hydrogen oxide good for marine life? What levels represent a legitimate health hazard?
These are questions that the global warming retards need to answer honestly, instead of resorting to the standard emotional rhetoric about doomsday.
Gillette neglected to mention that large amounts of dihydrogen monoxide in the atmosphere can definitely cause heat to become trapped and affect weather patterns worldwide, unlike the bogeyman of carbon monoxide.
Again, this climatological condition needs to be approached responsibly, without the shrill cries that the sky is falling from the anti-science left. Should dihydrogen monoxide emmisions be controlled more stringently? Probably. Should it be banned outright? No, of course not. Sure, it helps cause climate changes, but shouldn't we take an evenhanded approach to how we deal with it?
I'd be interested to read what moonbats like Creep, Snivel Behaviour and Johke have to offer on the subject. Is global warming really such a bad thing? Bad enough to spend trillions of dollars annually trying to reduce dihydrogen monoxide levels in the atmosphere?
Personally, I love hot weather.

You are a coward, a fool and a fucking idiot. Plain and simple. You lack the common sense and decency to debate a topic seriously. You also have the most narrow minded view of the world which I've encountered to date. No, I'm not a "far left extremist", but it is clear that you are a self righteous wing-nut dip-shit. I have debated all sorts of topics in here, long before your ignorant self started posting on Jawa Even though I've agreed to disagree about certain subjects with many people in here, I've grown to respect their point of view. Howie, Carlos, Maximus, etc...most recently Michael. The only one I haven't been able to get along with is Gayrooster, the KKK racist pig. Now I'll have to lump you in with him on my shortlist of dick-weeds who I'll just have to ignore since you have nothing useful to bring to the table. You have nothing to offer & it's very clear that no matter what I say you will ignore any valid points and refuse to have a open mind. So, long story short: If you have something constructive to contribute, I'll respond. If not, then I'll ignore all your petty, baiting comments and only talk to others who choose to use their brains and not waste my time.

If The Dork and Jakeass liked it, it had to suck.
Hey Dork, can you tell me which of our Imperial holdings pays us tax dollars or tribute? Where are the American overlords? Is the mission to aid iraq costing America a fortune, or are we stealing their oil and bleeding them dry with imposed taxes? You cant have it both ways, although that obviously doesn't stop you from trying.
Libertarianism is about as practical as Marxism. There has never been a libertarian culture in the history of mankind, because libertarianism is as impossible to achieve as communism and socialism. Few people are stupid enough to want it anyway. Expecting the strong not to prey on the weak in an ungoverned society were everybody magically cooperates with each other is sheer lunacy. Expecting the rest of the world not to promptly conquer a Libertard society is even more bat-shit insane.
There is no doctrine, ideology or system that holds all the answers and there never will be. Utopia is impossible.

...I agree with comments #1 and #2. Interestingly, Neal Boortz himself, from what I've read -- and I've read much of what he's had to say over the years -- would also agree with us. The big issue is not "suppressing dissent" or discouraging personal credit, but taxes. Are we supposed to 1) work and earn money and then set aside a certain amount so that the government can continue to fund the essentials; or 2) just go through some jump-through-hoops exercise right before the government allows us to "keep" a sufficient amount to fund OUR essentials? That, to me, is what the video is all about.
If I were king -- not only would I pick the first of those two choices, thereby establishing the people as the owners of the nation's wealth...I'd whittle the government down to the essentials as I see them. But the libertarians would be disappointed with how I see them. At the top of the stack, is waging perpetual hostility against enemies of the flag & constitution, foreign and domestic. Saddam Hussein, to me, is a good start -- just like the fifty lawyers at the bottom of the lake in that joke. Stretch some more necks just like his, and, lock down that border. To make those two essentials happen, I'd jettison everything else short of fire halls and sidewalks.
Just wanting to define my own position, for whatever it's worth, with a little more surgical precision. As far as the young guy with a perm being jailed for his beliefs and spoken statements, I'm pretty much as bewildered as everyone else. I linked to the video anyway because I thought it was exceptionally well-done, and the title really spoke to me. And thanks to Good Lt for linking.

Encouraging unskilled people to enter your country and do all the shit work is abusive and exploitative. It flys in the face of honest American tradition and it's unconstitutional. (I don't want to hear any crap about Chinese coolies, because the practice was an aberration.) It's also backfired every time I know of. It doesn't matter if the imported peons are treated like second class citizens as the Blacks were in South Africa, or simply encouraged to undercut native workers and enter a second class niche, as the Mexicans are here in America. If you let enough of them in, they'll eventually take over.
Unlike the Bantu speaking Blacks who moved to South Africa, Mexicans are encouraged to maintain their Mexican culture and allegience. They are also feted by lending institutions, social service programs, both political parties, the courts, local governments, and the Marxist left.
If a convicted terrorist like Nelson Mandela can gain control of a government that practiced racism against Blacks openly, does anybody really think that deeply racist Mexicans cant take over a government that bends over backwards to accomodate them and encourages them to live as a seperate nation within our own?
If Mexican immigrants and invaders were required to assimilate into society as previous immigrant groups were, the problem could be solved. They aren't, and it won't be. I hope Americans like Spanish more than English, crime more than order and barrios more than suburbs, because that's what's coming.

The National Enquirer is more reliable than the Establishment Media.
Since when does hearsay pass as reporting? Ask NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, Reuters, et al.
The story did not attribute Rove's alleged remarks to first hand knowledge. It clearly identified the source.
Very little of the news that reaches us is first hand. In fact, none of it is.

I personally see this agenda as nothing more than a new form of slavery. Unlimited illegal aliens means that business, especially agribusiness corporations who haven't modernized and still operate on labor intensive practices, will always have extremely low wage workers and huge profits. Even if Bush's amnesty plan comes about new illegal aliens will continue to stream across the border or be bussed up by the corporations themselves. The path to citizenship is no more than a contract that illegals will work in poor conditions and low wages for 18 months before they can move upwards and gain human rights. Meanwhile our US corporations ship material overseas to third world countries where workers manufacture our goods in conditions that are not allowed within our borders.
This shoddy economic policy also erases our nations laws and borders it robs our culture of the work ethic that made America great. It is not any type of conservative ideal.
