Al Qaeda Terrorist Arrested in Italy: Targetted US Bases in Iraq
Italian police have arrested an Iraqi man named Hussein Saber Fadhil said to be part of a group linked to al Qaeda. Some reports claim Fadhil was arrested at the Venice airport, and others in Padua, but it is clear that the arrest warrant was issued by a judge in Venice.
Hussien Saber Fadhil was on his way to Damascus, Syria, where he would then meet up with other jihadis who have already been involved in multiple kidnappings and murder in Iraq. The group is said to be "close" to al Qaeda in Iraq, whether it is the Islamic State of Iraq--which would make it more than "close" to al Qaeda, that is al Qaeda--or other Salafist terrorists affiliated with them has not been disclosed.
Reports say that Hussien Saber Fadhil is a former member of the Baath partyand indicate that he felt betrayed by nationalist fighters who have turned on al Qaeda in Diyala and Anbar. He recently learned to fly an airplane. The plot would have packed a small airplane with explosives using it as an suicide bomb.
The 45 year old man is said to have been carrying with him items which he would use in the plot. My best guess would be some kind of GPS equipment.
The police are also searching the homes of other Iraqis in Italy.
UPDATE: This AP story sheds some more light on Fadhil, that he:
had been in touch with aides of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the founder of al-Qaida in Iraq ....
"It is documented that he was in contact with the al-Qaida in Iraq terrorist group," D'Auria told The Associated Press by telephone. "He was organizing an attack against American bases in Iraq."
The attack would have employed suicide bombers, anti-tank weapons and ultra-light helicopters that the group planned to buy from an Italian company, investigators said.
Three other homes were searched, but the men were not arrested.
Hussein has lived in Italy for 25 years selling kebobs at a kiosk. 25 years in Italy, and he still supported al Qaeda? Talk about an integration problem.
He was sending $4,200 a month to Iraq to support the al Qaeda cell. How can a kebob seller afford to send that much money a month to Iraq? I'm guessing he also raised funds from others. Probably start at the mosque he attended and go from there.

Beginning on October 22, student groups across the nation will hold Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week on their campuses. These protest weeks will feature a series of events designed to bring a message to these academic communities that challenges most of what students are taught about the so-called War on Terror both in the classroom and on the quad.
The Clinton Administration hasn't gotten its hands on it, and won't. And now you can really see what happened when we missed Bin Laden in the 1990's, why the decisions made by the Clinton team weren't effective in getting or killing Bin Laden, how the Bush Administration (to it's discredit) made AQ a low priority upon the transition of the Oval Office between administrations, how the hijackers were trained, the chaos of 9-11, and everything else.
There are so many nuances and details in the story, from NSA wiretaps to arguments about collateral damage to CIA covert operations tracking these terrorists, that make it difficult to completely describe how adequate this documentary is.
Set aside 90 minutes and get yourselves up to speed about how and why 9-11 happened.
PS - The last 25 minutes or so are spent literally making the Bush Administration look like a bunch of incompetent morons, with segments noting that they still have been less than forthcoming about what kinds of things they were ordering on 9-11; like who gave the shootdown order, their desire to attack Iraq instead of Afghanistan, etc). In other words, this documentary spreads the blame around to all parties, and doesn't pull punches. That's why (I felt) it needs to be seen.
So watch with some hope, anti-BOOSHies. He gets what's coming to him, if you will merely sit through the 8 year run-up to 9-11 where BOOSH wasn't even a blip on the radar screen.

REDACTED: What Islamic Terror Does to People In Thailand
MEMO to Brian DePalma/Mark Cuban: You forgot to include some stuff in your propaganda film. You also forgot to mention that this horrific, barbaric Islamic violence is a daily occurrence the world over, as opposed to the focus of your propaganda, which is an isolated military incident that was resolved with swift justice.
The identity of the hijackers was still unclear: the transport minister of Turkish-backed breakaway northern Cyprus, Salih Usar, said they were two Iranians protesting against the United States. But Turkey's Cihan news agency reported one was Palestinian and the other Turkish.
So these unidentified hijackers were Iranians protesting the US...but nobody knows who they are? Well, here' a hint, I think.
Soon after the plane was forced to land for refueling -- as it did not have enough fuel to go to Tehran as the hijackers wanted -- most of the passengers were either released or broke out through emergency exits.
Hijackers trying to take the plane to the capital of Iran...a total mystery as to who they are, though.
Note to self - never fly in or to Turkey.

Israelis have been warned to leave Arab countriesimmediately because of a "concrete and severe" terror threat. There is also the possibility of kidnapping attempts by Hizbollah agents.

Islamist School of Terror
(Perugia, Italy) Three Moroccan Muslim men were arrested last weekend by Italian Police for allegedly running a terrorist training school in a mosque at Ponte Felcino. The men included 41-year-old Imam Korchi el Moustaphthe, 47-year-old Mohamed el Jari and 46-year-old Driss Safika.
Police said they found evidence of in-depth training in explosives and poisons, and instructions on flying a Boeing 747 airliner.
Police say the suspects were running an "in-depth operation of instruction and training in the use of weapons and combat techniques suitable for terrorist acts."
Officers found chemicals - including acids and cyanide - in the mosque's cellar, officials said.
A fourth suspect is believed to have fled the country.
Since the weapons, explosives, poisons and 747 flying instructions were in the cellar, I'm assuming that the religion of peace activities were conducted upstairs. They surely wouldn't have mixed all those things up. Uh, or maybe they would.

Everyone knows that these "jihadis" were just peaceful fig farmers swiped up in BOOSHCheneyRethuglikkkan's massive assault on human rights, and that releasing them means nothing but JUSTICE to the innocents of the world.
I'm sorry. I criticized the liberals and their mouthpieces in the Democrat Party. I just got a nasty email from the ACLU telling me that I'll be sued for noticing that the people they're fighting to release into our midst are in fact terrorists, jihadis and murderers.
Dude, We Already Shot Off The Fireworks
Apparently,Mansour Dadullah didn't get the memo:
As senior intelligence and law enforcement officials met again today in the White House Situation Room to deal with the "summer terror threat," a top terror commander said an attack was coming that would dwarf the failed bombings in London and Glasgow.
Taliban military commander Mansour Dadullah, in an interview broadcast on ABC News' "World News With Charles Gibson," said the London attacks were "not enough" and that bigger attacks were coming.
Hm. Zero equals zero, last time I went to math class.
So according to my calculations, setting off an M-80 in the middle of the street would be more successful and would "dwarf" the failed London and Glasgow affairs.
Way to raise the bar, Al Qaeda!

The bomber struck around 9 a.m., when children usually arrive at a nearby primary school for a second shift of classes. Schools in Afghanistan often serve three rotations of students.
"Some of the children were walking to school while other children were selling goods in the market," said Gen. Abdul Qassim Khan, the provincial police chief.
He said the bomber detonated his explosives outside a pharmacy as the Dutch patrol entered the market, a central shopping area for people from nearby villages. Seven shops were destroyed.

BTW, Syria is Invading Lebanon
Nancy Pelosi's all-healing trip to Syria apparently did nothing to prevent this - perhaps emboldened by the capitulation of the American Democrats and international left, Syria is now pushing forward. Totten notes the delicious media silence and hypocrisy:
If Israel sent the IDF three kilometers into Lebanon and started digging trenches and building bunkers it would make news all over the world. But Syria does it and everyone shrugs. Hardly anyone even knows it happened at all.
Appeasement worked for peace! Ask the Lebanese! See, neeeeocons?

Palestinians Sieze Refugee Camp in Lebanon
More good news from our well-meaning friends in the Fatah militant movement:
TRIPOLI, Lebanon (AP) -- Palestinian mediators pressed for a negotiated solution to a week-long siege of a Palestinian refugee camp Sunday, with the Lebanese government demanding the surrender of Islamic militants inside but reluctant to rush into an all-out assault.
The big news here is that the Palestinian terror hordes aren't launching rockets into Israel. Oh, wait - they're doing that, too.
'Land for Peace' is working quite well, isn't it? And if you're wondering about the motivations here, prepare to wipe the expressions of surprise from your no doubt stunned-looking mugs:
The leader of the Fatah Islam militants said his fighters would not surrender.
"We wish to die for the sake of God," Shaker Youssef al-Absi said in a video shown on Al-Jazeera television on Saturday. "Sunni people are the spearhead against the Zionist Americans."
"We wish to die for the sake of God," Shaker Youssef al-Absi said in a video shown on Al-Jazeera television on Saturday. "Sunni people are the spearhead against the Zionist Americans."
Can't you feel the peeeaaacccee?
On an interesting side note, the AP article is by none other than our old buddy Bassem Mroue; an AP stringer extrodinaire who was caught scrubbing his personal blog entries last summer of virulent anti-Israel propaganda after I exposed him here at the Jawa Report.
The fact that he's still employed by the AP shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone either. Media Matters, inexplicably, missed that whole little incident.

What about the worst torture of all, 3 meals a day with real fattening food. And of course, having an unwrapped Koran handed to you... that is just too much. The torture we submit our enemey detainees too is just horrible... horrible I tell you! Why those poor devils that we keep locked up actually get to confess there crimes with all their teeth, eyes and other body parts intact and undamaged. What cruelty we must be submitting them to. Al Qaeda Doctor Convicted
(New York City) A 52-year-old Florida-based doctor, Rafiq Abdus Sabir, was convicted yesterday in federal court in Manhattan of conspiracy to provide material support and providing or attempting to provide material support or resources to al Qaeda.
The case did not involve any attack plot, but centered on an oath that Sabir and his close friend Tarik Shah made in Arabic in May 2005 to an undercover FBI agent posing as an al Qaeda recruiter. He taped both men pledging support to the militant Islamic group and "Sheikh Osama."
Sabir, a strict Muslim born and raised in New York, testified during the trial that he did not realize during the meeting that "Osama" referred to Osama bin Laden and had misunderstood the pronunciation of "al Qaeda" due to his limited Arabic.
Sabir's defensive argument didn't ring true for the jury. It's doubtful that any sane individual would buy the contention that he didn't know that "Sheikh Osama" meant Osama bin Laden. Nevertheless, as a result of the conviction, he faces a possible 30-year prison term when sentencing occurs on September 12th.
His close friend, Tarik Shah, caught in the same sting operation, pleaded guilty and agreed to a 15-year prison term. He has yet to be sentenced.

Those are the Muslims I'm worried about. Seems like you might have other issues. When it's cold they make a great scarf or balaclava, when it's hot they keep the sun off your head, they keep the flies away and the dust out of your hair, you can fold them up and use them as a sweat band or a bandana. Very versatile piece of kit...though I'd never wear one in the street.

But, it wasn't a school. The always truthful AP will say it was a Zionist Anti-Palestinian Education Center and a legitimate target in the war against Zionism. The young students were obviously being indoctrinated in Anti-Palestinian conspiracy theories teaching them about how to hate poor, downtrodden Palestinians who just want to give all Jews in Israel a big peace hug and live happily ever after under cotton candy clouds and sweet, honey rivers. Well... at least that's the spin the AP will probably put on it.

No doubt, you can always count on the AP to try and frame the Palestinians as oppressed and downtrodden regardless of the vile and despicable acts of violence they perpetrate against unarmed innocent Israeli citizens.

4but I don't know how to obtain a more credible count.
It's the goat-humping, dude. Add those figures in and the casualty count among jihadists could be in the millions.
Assuming Darth Vag hadn't gotten to the goats himself ahead of time. He's notorious for de-virginizing goats in order to make them unsuitable as jihadi brides.

That website's numbers for May 2007 are on the low side. I mean just two weeks the U.S. forces killed ~130 in the West of Afghanistan and other coalition partners killed ~80 in the east.
