Art Censored Because of Obama Campaign?

Why would Camp Obama be embarrassed by vulgar and provocative paintings?

This garbage (termed "art" by hoity-toit morons)
is the kind of "free thinking" and "expression" that the Democrats have spent the better part of the last five decades fighting with every cell in their pathetic bodies to be displayed on taxpayer dime.

Now that their legacy bears fruit during the YouTube generation at their campaign functions, there's suddenly a problem? What are they afraid of? Are they suddenly making moral judgments about the art?

Are they afraid to let the country see the "true colors" of the Democrat Party? Those colors being a painting of Brittney Spears's genitals and one of a shirt that says "Kill Lincoln?"

I mean, we all know that only a white conservative Bible-belt Christian male would ever paint paint such paintings.

Deep. Nuanced.

1 You're ranting again.

2 To be fair, its not a suitable backdrop for a campaign event or press appearance - that's not the same as judging it unworthy as art. Ashcroft's debacle, by contrast, involved covering up something that probably wouldn't have seemed inappropriate or out of place - a classical sculpture in a government building.

Also, the covered art is better art than the most controversial NEA funded works - of course its a commercial gallery, not a government funded show.

3 Can you IMAGINE the uproar about "censorship" and "fascism" we'd hear from the Leftard MSM if a Republican had covered up some piece of crap they call "art"?  Another perfect example of the Leftard double standard.  Democrats can censor art, they can talk religion, they can make racist comments, etc., but woe unto the conservative who would do exactly the same thing.

Quit playing the victim.

I doubt anyone right or left would equate covering up a sketch of a paparazzi crotch shot or a boob-shot from Fast Time at Ridgemont High with an example of artistic fascism OR the hypocricy of your liberal elite boogeymen. If someone in Obama's camp decided they didn't want some conservative making hay out of Britney Spears twat in the background during a press conference, who cares?

5 Quit playing the asshat.

6 Boo-hoo-hoo-hoo ... the poor Republicans Waaaaahhhhhhh!

7 So you're not just playing the asshat.

Although calling someone an asshat is a great argument, I second B.

9 Hey, folks let's take a look at something else here. Your tax dollars didn't go very far with this artist because judging by the first picture (of B'Spears' chewed bubblegum), it doesn't look to be freehand. The accurracy/realism of the piece leads me to believe the guy essentially "filled in" (shaded) the photo transposed onto a piece of canvas i.e. overhead projector et al. It doesn't say much for his talent...then again, consider his selection for a muse.

Personally I wish she'd go back to her trailer in Kentwood. Lord knows, her soul has never left the town.

10 B sure got interested in that fat twat. Ist time you ever seen one? Or interested in having one of your very own just like it?

11 Noticing B is an asshat wasn't intended as an argument.  My argument came before that, and B never addressed it.

12 So I guess Obama has taste. Look I'm a conservative (I think, at least that's what people tell me) and I think he's a stand up guy. Why is this site I like so much stooping to the level of attacking him over nothing? Also, It is not really fair to group democrats like Obama with the looney leftist commies anymore than to group McCain with far right crack pots.

13 Charcoal drawings? Jesus. Art school is for people, generally speaking, who're not ready to find a job - and being an artist means they'll probably never have to - and are too stupid to get a degree in anything else. You know, 'Hmm, my IQ is around 94...but I always wanted to get a degree/avoid the real world for as long as possible...think I'll go to art school.'
Is that picture cropped? Because if it is, it's about as contraversial as a cloud. At least, let's see her fucking flange! Uh, I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me...
Anyway, those sketches aren't bad - even if there are no glistening labia in them - maybe this guy could get a job as a courtroom artist.
...I seem to've lost my train of thought. In fact, upon further inspection, calling it a train of thought would be insincere. Let's just all agree that 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' was a fucking awesome film (even if it did have Judge Reinhold and Sean Penn in it). I mean, come on, Phoebe Cates' norks. She should've won and oscar for that. 'And the Academy Award for the nicest pair of tits goes to...Phoebe Cates...'
