1 These must be some of the troops that thought Kerry was talking about them, and didn't realize that it was their commander in chief that was being insulted.

Or it may be that this is a bunch that joined the military, after the recruiting standards were lowered, again.

What they haven't figured out, yet, is that is was Kerry that has been supporting the troops, while Bush gives them lip service only.
Wait until they get back and try to get their veterans benefits that Bush has been trying to cut.

Meanwhile, the United States military leadership has contrived to punish the United States military defense attorneys that were ASSIGNED to defend scum-bag terrorists. This is in ABSOLUTE VIOLATION of ALL standards of conduct for attorneys. Who is holding the military in violation for violating all of the standards of attorney-conduct? We (the United States Government) happened to fight this very battle after World War II. We (the United States Government) decided that OUR attorneys were REQUIRED to vigoursly DEFEND some scum-bag's "rights," notwithstanding what had happened,nor what had since-been-labeled as violating the military's prerogative to impose "victor's rules" (a.k.a. "command influence"). Only dumb-shits in the current Bush Adminstration have bought into such stupidity. Of course, none of them are actually military veterans.

Admittedly, only super-saturated lawyers familiar with military law would know, or understand these rules, the fact remains that some jack-ass Defense Secretary is NOT free to completely re-write the Rules of Court Martial to mandate Kangaroo-courts-martial (that happened during WW II to U.S. servicemen). Only stupid political appointees with no knowledge of U.S. history would agree with such idiocy (the current appointees with NO knowledge of history, of which I have seen FAR TOO MANY).

But where does that leave us with respect to the active duty U.S. soldiers who responded to Jack-Ass Kerry's stupid and insulting remarks? They are hanging out in proverbial wind. I would recommend that a "defense fund" be started. These people's careers have been effectively "ENDED." I encourage the blogosphere to watch over each and every one pictured's career path, because they WILL be targeted. The probable issue raised is that they dared to challenge a politcal's public statement (that means John Kerry's, D. Mass, statement), thus (I'm sorry, I don't have a handy issue of the UCMJ) violating a rule to NEVER refute some sorry elected piece-of-shit's statement - no matter how treasonous or unfactual it may be.

Start the defense fund now. Also, start the political movement now to prevent these brave soldiers for their First Amendment-protected willingness to refute Kerry's idiocy.

By the way, I regret (based upon decades of stupidity) to admit that I AM a lawyer. Which is why I have make the recommendations that I make. I, personally, would be MORE than HAPPY to represent the soldiers, but I currently work for the Orwellian Department of Justice - which would prohibit such representation.

Somebody make me a better offer.

1 Off subject Rusty but thought people should know there was what some would call a race riot on the Gulf Coast last night. Please don't blame the KKK. All the fighting was between blacks and hispanics. Something that is happening more and more in this area who had no hispanics 2 yrs ago. Blacks are complaining that hispanics are taking their jobs and social services money. The hispanics say the blacks will not work. This is going to grow as these people who came to work after Katrina have not intention of going back and the people here don't want them to. I went to International Pancake House this morning and noticed something strange. The management was black and all the cooks were hispancs. Has black management discovered something? Have a nice day, taking my grandson to the fair in Franklinton, La.

20 The Buffalo Drive in is already closed for the season. Also, they tore down that sign a few years ago. I should know, I live in the Buffalo area and I have been to that drive-in recently over the summer. If anyone doubts it they can contact me and I will gladly drive over there and take pictures of the new sign.
Also, that drive in is located in a family neighborhood. As an outdoors venue and due to location they are prohibited by law from showing any adult content of any kind.
As pointed out by Garduneh Mehr, this sign has been used by the sign generator for a few years.

Life Imitating Art

I was scrolling through this small photo album of pictures from a businessman traveling through North Korea, and this one struck me:

From the accompanying photo description:

On a frosty day, peasants cluster on a remote country lane to dig at the ice caking roads and streams so they can access the mud underneath.
Mud is valuable as a fertiliser. Throughout the seasons, piles of mud and even human manure will be applied onto fields in order to make the crops grow better.

I was instantly reminded of a scene from Monthy Python & the Holy Grail - watch the first 3 minutes of this clip and tell me the picture isn't a North Korean version of this scene, sans King Arthur and Patsy. Anarcho-syndaclist ideology, filth gathering and all. Especially relevant is the woman scurrying around in the mud around 1:01 proclaiming "Dennis! There's some lovely filth down here...!"
