To refresh everyone's memory, Pamela Rogers Turner (photos) was arrested and charged in February 2005 with 15 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and 13 counts of statutory rape of one of her students, a 13-year-old boy. In August, she pleaded no contest as part of an agreement with the prosecution and was sentenced. The agreement provided for dismissal of most of the 28 counts against her.
I think it's important to remember that Rogers was convicted of having a three-month sexual affair with a 13-year-old boy. Her crime was a clear case of child sexual abuse by a person in a position of authority and many observers believe Rogers received very lenient treatment by the court.
Her sentence includes seven years probation which, if violated, will send her back to jail. Rogers is already entered into the Tennessee sex offender registry with her photo posted on its website. In addition, she must complete 90 hours of community service.
In summary, the former teacher and former homecoming queen opens a new chapter in her life as an ex-convict and registered sex offender on probation. She forfeited her career, her good name and her marriage. In return, she's blanketed her life and her future with a dark cloud.
Poor decision-making skills produce poor results.

From NBC4.tv:
In pronouncing sentence, Orange County Superior Court Judge Richard Toohey said Sarah Bench-Salorio, 29, had violated the trust parents put in teachers.I contend that Bench-Salorio is being given a gift. Think of the damage she's done. Think of the victimized boys, their families, her own family, the school. Think of what would be the punishment for a man committing similar crimes."One thing the court cannot escape as it relates to this matter ... is it involved the violation of trust ... the defendant being a teacher in the school system," Toohey said.
The judge said parents "expect there will be appropriate conduct" when they put their children in school.
"I realize there is no excuse for what I did," Bench-Salorio said Friday.
Bench-Salorio, an English teacher, entered her guilty plea Sept. 28 and could have been sentenced to a term between three and six years. She would have faced up to 64 years in prison had she gone to trial, defense attorney Allan Stokke said.
According to evidence at a hearing, Bench-Salorio molested three boys ranging in age from 12 to 14.
We must also remember that one boy "estimated the number of times he and his teacher had sex by the condoms in a box that he went through -- 22 of them, he said -- and added that sometimes no condom was used." Bench-Salorio experienced no momentary lapse of judgment. She was engaged in the seduction and long-term, serial sexual molestation of children. The victims' parents called her a "pedophile and sexual predator." I agree.
Given all the circumstances, is six years reasonable punishment? I don't think so. Not even close. Bench-Salorio should be looking at double or triple that amount or more.
Nonetheless, her attorney, Allan Stokke is planning on wheelbarrowing a buttload of boo-hoos on the judge to get her sentence reduced. He'll say the married mother of three foster children is bipolar and suffers from depression and he will present doctor's reports and "all kinds of information" from "various people to show her absolutely excellent background."
What happens next is anyone's guess. Will the judge reduce the sentence? Maybe. It's a California judge in a California court.

From Sky.com:
A former worker at an immigration centre in Croydon told The Sun that women were allowed to stay in the UK in return for sex.Since this story has hit the newspapers and involves alleged inadequate security screening, the public will likely demand a comprehensive review of the entire immigration department. I believe it should be simple to verify the accuracy of specific claims. However, if true, it may be more difficult to determine how widespread the corruption is and how long it's been occurring.Anthony Pamnani, 23, said he quit after four years in disgust at the goings-on.
He said "ugly" applicants were often made to queue for hours while those considered good-looking would be seen straight away.
The whistleblower also told the paper that vital security checks on immigrants were not carried out.
It will be interesting to see how the British public reacts if it's found that people are discriminated against because they're ugly.

Last Thursday, Hart pleaded no contest to the charges. Hart was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to undergo psychological counseling.
Since Hart was convicted of illegal sex with an animal, I must assume that there is some act that's considered to be legal sex with an animal. Frankly, I'm afraid to ask.
On a different subject, congratulations to Howie for receiving his P.H.D. As a Jawa blogger, it's assumed that the distinction was awarded by the Big Ten, which everybody knows is actually the Big Eleven.

Unfortunately for 25-year-old Lafave, when she was engaging in sex with the boy, she was committing crimes in two different jurisdictions. Although her case has been settled in Hillsborough County, it remains to be adjudicated in Marion County.
Yesterday, Marion County prosecutors and Lafave's attorney, John Fitzgibbons, presented a plea agreement to Judge Hale Stancil to resolve the charges against Lafave. Unexpectedly, Judge Stancil rejected the plea agreement and set April 10 as the trial date.
According to Ric Ridgeway, a spokesman for the State Attorney's Office, Judge Stancil said he had some concerns which needed to be addressed. The attorneys have promised to have a new plea agreement before the scheduled trial date.
Consequently, the soap-opera sex saga of Debra Lafave continues. Stay tuned.

People should reject the delusion that Lafave's sentence is having the punishment fit the crime. She regularly had sex with a student with total diregard for the law and absolute refusal to exercise her responsibilities as a teacher. In my estimation, justice has not been served.

"At the time this occurred, you were needy, drinking heavily and had a low self esteem. While you looked at this as affection, you were being used, abused and sexually abused. You became their playmate."So, it appears that 42-year-old Geisel wasn't really responsible for her behavior. She had low self esteem and was victimized by the teen boys she met for sex. Holy-freaking-moly! The prosecution is outraged. The parents are outraged. And it's all because Judge Stephen Herrick is filled with boo-hoo logic which says a stupid woman can't be held responsible for her behavior.
Nevertheless, with credit for time served, Geisel skates out of jail next month with a hand slap and an apology. Poor thing. Note to all future defendants appearing before Judge "Bleeding Heart" Herrick: Wear a dress.

Today, Imre was sentenced to six years in prison and ten years probation along with being required to register as a sex offender.
From NewsDay.com:
Imre admitted engaging in sexual acts with the boy but said it stopped short of sexual intercourse.Imre said she was truly sorry."When this was first in the paper, it was almost a joke, because of the role reversal," prosecutor Cornelius Kelly said. "It conjures up thoughts of, 'Oh, that's a young man's dream.' But as we stand here today, we still don't know what damage this will have on the young boy's self-esteem, his interpersonal relationships. We don't know what damage the young girl suffered."
Imre's daughter, who witnessed some of the acts, is now in foster care, authorities said.
"She has hurt a lot of innocent people, including her own daughter, who not only lost her mother, but her best friend, who was my son," the boy's mother told the judge.
Is six years enough? Turn it around to be a 30-year-old man mixing it up with an 8-year-old girl. Now, ask if six years is enough. In my opinion, six years is not even close to being enough. Frankly, though, given the customary leniency that courts show toward female pedophiles, I'm surprised she got that much.

Yesterday, Bench-Salorio pleaded guilty to 29 counts of lewd acts with the three boys before Judge Richard Toohey in Orange County Superior Court under an agreement that she be sentenced to three to six years in prison. As an aside, this equates to a range of about one to two months prison for each felony child sex crime. In other words, Bench-Salorio had no books thrown at her.
According to Mark Macaulay of the Orange County District Attorney's Office, Bench-Salorio will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. Deputy District Attorney John Christl pegged her as a "sexual predator." Bench-Salorio's attorney, Allan Stokke, stated:
"My client concluded it was in her best interest to plead guilty and get a sentence of between three and six years as opposed to 64 years," which she could have faced as a maximum term if the case had gone to trial, Stokke said.Bench-Salorio, jailed in lieu of $500,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on November 18.
For several reasons, my take is disgust. First is what she did to the boys. As an example, one boy "estimated the number of times he and his teacher had sex by the condoms in a box that he went through -- 22 of them, he said -- and added that sometimes no condom was used." Bench-Salorio experienced no momentary lapse of judgment. She was engaged in long-term, serial sexual criminal behavior with children.
Now, couple that with the fact that she is married with three foster children and listen to her apologists claim that she suffers from depression and a bipolar condition. Well, boo-freakin'-hoo! She can be bipolar and a convict. She can be depressed and a convict. Just make her a convict for a long time.
Unfortunately, she'll be in prison for no more then six years and I seriously doubt that she'll get the full six. Think of the damage she's done. Think of the victimized boys, their families, her own family, the school. Think of what would be the punishment for a man committing similar crimes. Given all the circumstance, is six years reasonable punishment? I don't think so. Not even close. Bench-Salorio should be looking at double or triple that amount or more.

From Capitalnews9.com:
Defense Attorney Donald Kinsella said, "A trial would have been a spectacle for her family. As you can see, you all are invited by the DA's office saying this isn't something you should miss. A trial would have been a total spectacle."It's not clear what happens if she violates her probation which, frankly, I think is likely.District Attorney David Soares said, "This is a person who is going to be subjected to probation for the next 10 years, will have to register as a sex offender, whose life is totally changed now as a result as her behavior. We held her accountable. This is the best disposition in this case."

Apparently, during the investigation of her alleged crimes, the authorities obtained a search warrant to photograph her genitalia to collect evidence corroborating the statements of the 14-year-old boy. The photos are public records and, as such, any citizen can request access. As a result, Lafave's lawyer, John Fitzgibbons, has filed a motion to block public access to the pictures on the basis that they are an invasion of privacy.

According to her attorney Donald Papcsy, in court today Imre agreed to plead guilty to reduced charges at a scheduled court appearance on Sept. 19. Apparently, she will receive something less than the ten-year minimum for first-degree sexual assault. The agreement allows her to claim an Alford plea where she doesn't plead guilty to all allegations but concedes that there is enough evidence to convict her. Prosecutor George Ganim Jr. wouldn't release any details, but said the victim's mother was satisfied with the terms of the agreement.
Consequently, we'll have to wait until September 19 to learn how long she will be sentenced in the slammer. Interestingly, she's already spent nine months behind bars since she couldn't cough up the $250,000 bail.

There are over 70 names on the list and, when coupled with the Women With Boys list posted in March, well over 100 females have been implicated in incidents of inappropriate sexual behavior with minors over a period of about nine months. Each is different and each is serious. Nonetheless, the prevalence of the predatory sexual behavior may be even higher than is reported in the news since I speculate many cases are hidden from the public. In any event, the frequency of the incidents seems to go unnoticed by the media.
Note that I didn't go searching for stories about women with boys. They popped up in general reading, usually while looking for something totally unrelated. All I did was document the occurrences with a post and then compile the list after a period of time. All the while, I tried to keep abreast of legal proceedings so the posts could be updated to reflect their ultimate disposition. I'm hoping to be able to collect enough data to support or dispute the contention that female predatory sexual behavior is treated less harshly by the judicial system than male predatory sexual behavior. Thus far, it's too early to tell.
There are, however, some preliminary observations that are worthy of noting. First, female sexual abuse of minors is generally viewed as less criminal than comparable male sexual abuse. This attitude seems to be based on the myth that youngsters being indoctrinated in sex by women is harmless and there are no victims. This attitude is false. In many of the cases, the female sexual abuser inflicts divisive and permanent harm on family, friends, and communities.
Second, the laws among the states are inconsistent with regard to defining what is criminal. For example, in North Carolina it's criminal for a female teacher to have a sexual relationship with a student from her school. In South Carolina, if the student is over 16, it's legal.
Thirdly, there appears to be no commonality whatsoever regarding the punishment meted out to convicted female sexual abusers. A female teacher prompting several male students to unleash the dragon could result in jail time, loss of teaching credentials, and registration as a sex offender in one case while another teacher gets only community service.
The More Women With Boys list is too long to cross-post. View it at Interested-Participant.

Subsequently, another student, who is 16 and cannot legally consent, went to the police with his father to report that he, too, had sex with Geisel, on two separate occasions. As a result, Geisel has been charged with two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Interestingly, Geisel has three sons and a daughter and is estranged from her husband, Thomas Geisel, the Regional President of KeyBank. So, the humiliation and embarrassment will be spread among a number of people.

From Star-Telegram.com:
Reiser befriended the boy at the Grapevine school, where she had worked for four years. The perfumed letters were adorned with hearts and flowers and professed Reiser's love for the boy. The boy contacted camp counselors who alerted the police. During a search, police found the warming lotion and black silk ties in Reiser's home.According to a search warrant affidavit, Reiser kept in contact with the boy in the spring of 2004 by calling him on the telephone, emailing him and meeting with him without his mother's knowledge.
At some point, Reiser told the boy that she loved him, and they discussed getting married when he turned 18, the search and arrest warrants state.
The boy told Colleyville police that Reiser picked him up June 10, 2004, at his house and drove him to her Euless home, according to the affidavits. Her husband was not there.
The boy told police that Reiser tied his arms to a bedpost with black silk ties and spread warming lotion on him, the search warrant states. For the next three hours, they had sex "nine or 12 times," and Reiser performed a sex act on him, according to the affidavits.
Days after that encounter, the boy went to the Christian summer camp, where he received what appeared to be "love letters," the affidavits state.
If convicted, the 30-year-old Reiser could get life in prison on the assault charge and 20 years on the indecency charge. It's unknown what Mr. Reiser thinks of the situation.
Within the past week, there have been a number of female sex abuse cases reported, seemingly a spike. Dawn Reiser's case is somewhat unique in that it's the first time I've heard of an adult woman introducing a child to bondage sex. For consenting adults, it might be considered kinky. This case is a sick perversion.
[Update 8/05/05, 0630 EDT]
Reiser was convicted and sentenced to eight years in prison, to permanent loss of teaching credentials, and to register as a sex offender. Both the prosecution and defense were satisfied with the punishment.
