Tammy Imre and Sex With 8-Year-Old Boy
(Bridgeport, Connecticut) Remember Tammy Imre? Last November, the 30-year-old mother was arrested for a laundry list of charges related to having an ongoing sexual relationship with an 8-year-old neighborhood boy who was her 7-year-old daughter's playmate.

According to her attorney Donald Papcsy, in court today Imre agreed to plead guilty to reduced charges at a scheduled court appearance on Sept. 19. Apparently, she will receive something less than the ten-year minimum for first-degree sexual assault. The agreement allows her to claim an Alford plea where she doesn't plead guilty to all allegations but concedes that there is enough evidence to convict her. Prosecutor George Ganim Jr. wouldn't release any details, but said the victim's mother was satisfied with the terms of the agreement.
Consequently, we'll have to wait until September 19 to learn how long she will be sentenced in the slammer. Interestingly, she's already spent nine months behind bars since she couldn't cough up the $250,000 bail.

Weirdness. I don't know what is stranger - that these weird self-indulgent cultural oddities/perversions take place, or our morbid societal fascination and interest in the story. It's like our culture has mainstreamed the old carnival freakshow or made back issues of True Detective and The Enquirer headline news.

You must be joking when saying that the boy knew what he wanted. I have a son of the same age as this boy and he has no interest in girls at all yet. If a woman approached him to offer sex he would either simply not understand or run scared. It took considerable guile and seduction on the part of this woman to have sex with him.
I had similar experience when I was a child and it makes me sick to my stomach when I see people trivializing sexual abuse of boys.
The main difference in experience for a girl who was abused by a man and a boy who was abused by a woman is in the "Mrs Robinson attitude" that pervades our society. Women who were abused as children get compassion and understanding, men who were abused get "it's not a big deal" and "you should feel lucky" attitude. The effects of the "he got lucky" attitude is almost identical to the "she asked for it" attitude that used to apply to women.
I know at least one boy who killed himself because of idiots who believed he should feel lucky for being sexually abused. You people don't know squat, you are confusing your adult fantasies with the confusion and emotional turmoil of a child. You in a very real way kill people.

Why is it everyone is screaming about women having sex with boys, but pedophile priests have completely fallen off the radar? Is the former worse than the latter? I'd say if a boy was given the choice, he'd pick the woman every time, rather than getting cornholed. Sure it's wrong, it's illegal, and should be punished, but it's not the worst thing that could happen, and many worse things are happening to many other kids every day. And Larry, your hysterical rant is a little over the top in self righteousness. When I was 8, I was obsessed with girls, so I don't see it as a traumatic thing. Maybe you need to eat some red meat and shoot a gun or something, because you sound like a woman.

Ok I must admit that 8 is young but it is time that we all recognised that a woman having sex with a willing boy is no where near the same as a man having sex with a young girl. Most boys want it and crave it and in 99% of cases no harm is done. Lets get real and admit that a woman deserves a far lighter sentence than a man for this, We should lower the age of consent for boys to 12. To send someone to jail for 20 or 30 years for something so trivial is in itself a crime by society - something akin to the Salem witch trials - in time and as our intelligence evolves - society will see its error of judgement here.

I have to agree with Brad. This is not an 18-year old boy we are talking about here. If this were my son it might be me on trial for taking her out. I just don't think some people realize what something like this could do to a child. Their ignorance is no excuse for such comments as were stated earlier in this thread.

I suppose we're dealing with two different opinions that can come from the same person. When it comes to our own kids, something like this is terrible. But also to ourselves, especially to males (obviously...) it can be comepletely different. No, when I was 8 or 9, I wasn't interested in girls at all. That's because they all still looked like boys with long hair and dresses and pigtails. But I was interested in grown women. And my sexual fantasies at that time involve them.
Look at Madonna. She built her entire fame and fortune and money around being the most obscene and offensive, sexually and politically entertainment figure because she knew that she could get the most money and fame by getting people to argue and hate each other (especially the generation gap between kids and their parents) over what she did. If Imre were a man having sex with an 8-year-old boy we wouldn't be arguing that a boy knows what he wants. What if the boy already knows he's gay? I suppose the next thing you'll be telling us is that if Imre were having sex with an 8-year-old girl, that would be okay, too. Face it, 8 is too young. Women can (and do) commit statutory rape. I would have beat that lady fiercely if she touched my son.
