Yet a heinous torture manual captured from a freedom fighter an al-Qaeda safe house in Iraq, complete with requisite disturbing illustrations on how to mutilate prisoners and inflict as much pain on them as humanly possible in direct violation of every international human rights and POW convention ever wailed about by leftards the world over, simply isn't as newsworthy to our media.
Because reporting these facts with the veracity and repetition of Abu Gharib is, apparently, "pro-war propaganda."

They're not high enough for the AP to care, and therefore (in MSM logic) are not newsworthy enough to fit the ubernarrative of "XXXX Troops are dead in this unpopular war."
Report the US deaths. Ignore the terrorist deaths. Report the terrorist's progress and victory. Ignore the US's progress and victory.
That's like reporting the number of penalty yards accrued by the winning team in the Superbowl while ignoring the final score. In the last Superbowl, the Colts actually had more penalty yards that the Bears, yet won handily.
Header using AP logic?

When it doesn't fit a left-wing political ubernarrtive. In that case, the MSM will happily commit the sin of omission and then let the story slide down the memory hole. The Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom murder is a perfect teaching moment about liberal media bias in the mainstream press.
Simple explanation? Here are the suspects; take three guesses as to why the NYT, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, etc. didn't latch onto and pound this story into your brain:

Five savages (after hearing about what they are charged with in the 47 count indictment, they don't qualify as human beings - we're talking Islamist-level brutality here) kidnap, murder, rape, torture and mutilate a white couple, and there isn't even a blip on the national media radar.
A psychotic stripper from Durham with a history of making false accusations says three white boys raped her, and the MSM goes into Pavlovian Dog mode, salivating over every detail for months on end until they were forced to cover the end result they didn't want.
Left-wing agenda? What left-wing agenda?

Via USA all the way, Michael Weaver’s blog Valhalla:
On YouTube, those who seek Jihad openly, or by stealth, against the west, make the rules. Perhaps I'm exaggerating? OH, I don't think so ... it seems that Free Speech is OK if your one of THEM ... They like to hear themselves just fine ...You can overcome the groups who seek to silence conservatives and critics of Islam. But just look at what Michelle had to go through to get her video reinstated. But they don't want anyone to hear you! They censor the truth when it hurts their narrative.
The Hot Air video report on Akon that Universal Music Group didn't want you to see is now back up on YouTube. That's right. The music giant and the video-sharing site (who happen to be "strategic partners") have backed down:
But for some reason terror supporting Jihadi videos and even videos by banned terrorist organizations stick like glue on youtube. more...

As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.more...

Iraqi insurgents or their supporters have been posting videos on YouTube at least since last fall. The Army recently began posting videos on YouTube showing soldiers defeating insurgents and befriending Iraqis. In other words, the AP is saying that Google, through its YouTube subsidiary, is willfully providing aid and comfort to America's enemies.

Here's what it says:

An attempt to show "how far we've come," even though "racism exists behind every dark shadow?" Pretty stupid. I'm wondering about the editor(s) that let that one through.

First Broder gets a call from 50 Democrats to submit (which he rightly and hilariously slapped away), now the WaPo throws a wet blanket on their blustering March to Surrender rhetoric with predictable results.
See what happens to fellow Democrats and media allies when they toy with the narrative?

Come on, MSM. Pinchy. Katie. Olby. Seriously, guys.
Even CREW is getting on Feinstein's case (although until today, they have been rather silent on Feinstein since January). From The Hill:
She is currently chairwoman of the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies subcommittee, but until last year was for six years the top Democrat on the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies (or “Milconâ€) sub-committee, where she may have directed more than $1 billion to companies controlled by her husband.Well, DUH.If the inferences finally coming out about what she did while on Milcon prove true, she may be on the way to morphing from a respected senior Democrat into another poster child for congressional corruption.
The problems stem from her subcommittee activities from 2001 to late 2005, when she quit. During that period the public record suggests she knowingly took part in decisions that eventually put millions of dollars into her husband’s pocket — the classic conflict of interest that exploited her position and power to channel money to her husband’s companies.
In other words, it appears Sen. Feinstein was up to her ears in the same sort of shenanigans that landed California Rep. Randy “Duke†Cunningham (R) in the slammer. Indeed, it may be that the primary difference between the two is basically that Cunningham was a minor leaguer and a lot dumber than his state’s senior senator.
Another question - if CREW can't and/or won't monitor the corruption and ethics of the majority of Congresscritters, what good are they?

An angry Republican voter pulled out a shotgun and stuck it in the face of a Democrat lawmaker, threatening to kill him unless he supported the President's war policy.
Sounds like a made-to order MSM feeding frenzy - violent gun-toting Republican threatening an innocent unarmed Democrat to go along with the unpopular war policy - all creating a perfect storm of anti-Republicanism and anti-Gun hype in the wake of the VT shootings.
Funny you didn't hear about it. That's probably because the political orientations and policy objectives of the individuals involved were exactly the opposite of what appears in the anecdote above.

...the story of her shoot-out with Iraqi forces was not a product of the US military but of the US media.more...The US media created this recounting of her exploits from vague, unofficial statements by "undisclosed officials" and having been revealed as rumor mongers started looking for someone to blame. Who else would they pin it on but the US military?

In the name of full disclosure, we first present the political contributions of Media Matters CEO David Brock:

II.
The latest keyboard spasm of Media Matters hatchetman Eric Boehlert was the opening 'salvo' - a sweeping and disjointed indictment of "conservative bloggers." And he even ends it begging for a kick in the teeth:
O'Neill's claims disputed? Yes.Peter Rabbit would be wise to stay out of Mr. Hinderaker's garden. Never pick a fight with a tiger. A tiger, or a lawyer who helped tear down Dan Rather.O'Neill discredited? Yes.
Your move, Hinderaker.
Eric Boehlert of Media Matters must be America's lamest media critic. We knew he couldn't argue; it now appears that he doesn't read so well, either. And now, the roundhouse:What prompts this observation is this post by Boehlert in which he tries to rebut the observations I made here about the Swift Boat Vets and their campaign against John Kerry. The context was my applauding President Bush for his recess appointment of Sam Fox as Ambassador to Belgium; the Democrats had blocked Fox's appointment, purely out of spite, because Fox contributed to the Swift Boat Vets during the 2004 campaign. Here is what I wrote:
That the Vets have been "discredited" is a commonplace not only on the left, but in the mainstream media. Yet it is hard to find any explanation of where this "discrediting" lies. Most of what the Vets said in their ads has never been disputed, let alone discredited. Their most effective ad showed pictures of John Kerry in his anti-Vietnam war days, and quoted Kerry's own speeches. The ad was important because most voters had no idea that Kerry had accused his fellow servicemen of being war criminals. The Vets also exposed the lie of Kerry's "Christmas in Cambodia," which Kerry now admits was false. Another ad showed officers who had ranked above Kerry in the chain of command, and who now consider him unfit to be commander in chief. How has that been discredited?
In fact, there was only one SBV ad the accuracy of which is even disputed, the first one that talked about the medals Kerry was awarded during his Vietnam service. Some of those facts are still uncertain, but the thrust of the ad, that Kerry's purported heroism in Vietnam was being grossly over-sold, was certainly true.
Boehlert quoted only the third sentence above, so if his readers were foolish enough to rely on him without actually reading what I wrote, there is some chance they wouldn't realize how dishonest he was.So can Eric Boehlert read? I'll just say this - Boehlert's reading skills surpass his analytical and writing skills. So, how did Boehlert try to rebut the point I made? He cited a number of factual disputes that have been raised in connection with points made by the Swift Boat Vets. But every single one of the factual controversies noted by Boehlert relates, exactly as I wrote, to the subject of Kerry's medals. He never questions the accuracy of any of the Vets' seven other ads. Thus, Boehlert's post, far from rebutting my point, actually reinforces it. Unbelievable.

Where Ross, ABC New, Olbermann and others are dead wrong is when they attempt to imply that the ban on the manufacture of new magazines of more than ten rounds was a ban on all high-capacity magazines. This is patently false. And guess who ran with it, hook line and sinker without so much a peep from Media Matters? There are literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions of firearms in America primarily designed to use magazines of more than ten rounds. Most of these firearms were sold by the manufacturer with at least two magazines, and there was and is a robust industry for magazines for these firearms. By the time the "large capacity ammunition feeding devices" stipulation of the 1994 AW Ban provision was implemented into law, there were literally millions of such magazines in America, and hundreds of thousands more available for retail and commercial sale.
The AW Ban did not make owning nor selling such magazines illegal. As a result, magazines of more than ten rounds were available for uninterrupted sale during the entire ten-year life of the AW ban. It was never illegal to own, sell, or buy such magazines.

An article on April 6 about a decision by Florida’s clemency board to let most felons easily regain their voting rights after prison misstated the proportion of blacks among the state’s disenfranchised ex-offenders. About 21 percent of the estimated 950,000 ex-offenders are black, according to the Sentencing Project, a liberal advocacy group in Washington — not “the vast majority.â€I suggest everyone in America check this page at least once a day.
