What are you smoking?  The evidence that has surfaced to date indicates that the US is practicing forms of torture such as waterboarding.  We have lost our moral compass and are becoming the USSR in more ways than one.

We have hard, direct evidence that AQ is torturing its detainees (including US troops, innocent civilians and citizens of other countries) by drilling holes through their hands, placing hot irons on their skins, gouging out their eyes, rending their bones and flesh with bolt cutters, hanging them from ceilings while beating them with chains, videotapes of them slitting throats of pleading victims while chanting hate to their moongod and ill-will towards America, etc.

They're not trying to get information. They're not trying to save lives. THEY'RE DOING IT WITH NO OTHER INTENT THAN TO CAUSE SUFFERING AND DEATH FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH.

I don't excuse THEM for what they do.  I question why we support torture?  What does it actually accomplish?  Intelligence obtained via torture is useless anyway - according to many experts.

Look - a smear does not effectively replace logic - and your post contains none of the latter.
 
You cannot win a protracted militarily engagement against fanatical muslims in a foreign land where you have zero intelligence and over 90% of the population sees you as an occupier.  Why is this such a hard thing for you to understand?  Do you want American forces and the treasury bled dry swatting flies?  Are you an Islamic agent here to ensure they have a continuous supply of American meat?
 
The first step in your de-brainwashing has to be to accept that there are limitation to American firepower and influence.  Start from there and proceed to step 2:  how to disengage from the influence of our own religious fanatics and the control of foreign lobbyists (like AIPAC) and you will be on your way to being cured of this terrible affliction that has a hold on you.

A people are responsible for the government and a country is responsible for the actions of the citizens. We don't need intelligence.
