Sharia Meets London Fashion Week: Taliban Chic

Either this is some ironic statement about mysogeny or it's the worst case of dhimmitude I've seen in awhile. Either way, I don't get it. All of the Taliban chic outfits seem to be by some guy named Louise Goldin, which for a straight heterosexual like me means absolutely nothing. Anyway, much worse than the kaffiyeh being offered by Urban Outfitters, IMHO. And I guess they don't call it Londinistan for nothing......

Video: Terrorists Shoot Down U.S. Chinook Helicopter (Updated)

The Salafi jihadi umbrella organization which includes al Qaeda, The Islamic State of Iraq, has released a video showing the downing of a U.S. Chinook Helicopter on February 7th. The video is posted below. Updates at end of post.

Here is the animated picture released with the video by al Furqa media, an al Qaeda in Iraq production company. Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but al Qaeda has several production companies

The helicopter appears to have been downed with an anti-aircraft missile. A few days ago the same Islamic State of Iraq claimed to have discovered a "new method" for shooting down helicopters. But it is increasingly becoming clear that this "new method" is the use of anti-aircraft SAMs, probably brought in from Syria or Iran. Update: Roggio thinks Iran. See below.

As is common with al Qaeda linked jihadis, the announcement claimed that 15-20 "Crusaders" were killed, and not the 7 that actually lost their lives.

Another reason to suspect the IRI rather than Syria is that the former has the oil revenue to finance the whole chain of activity from purchasing the equipment to the logistics support to training etc etc etc.
Syria does have some oil revenue but nothing like the IRI.

In my opinion, the only good member of the IRI regime is a dead one.

3 I'm not positive its SAM's as much as its RPG27 and RPG29's plus hacked RPG7's.

As I understand it, the best way for a pilot to thwart ground based RPG attacks is by dodging them because of the tell-tale signature and slow speed of the RPG. The shitbags have modified the RPG7 exahust ports now with a metal pipe so that the exhaust signature gives off a false direction of its trajectory, thus pilots are not able to dodge them as efficiently.

The RPG27 and RPG29 are both faster weapons plus they carry larger payloads that are designed to thwart armor in a more efficient manner. They are all produced by "our friends" the Russians.

I mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. SAMs are the perfect weapon for Shiite Iran to supply to Sunni Al-Qeada. Its not like Iran would be worried about them being used on their crappy Air Force. Its a weapon that would almost exclusively kill Americans.

5 The helicopter in the video is not a CH-47 Chinook (used by the Army). The rear wheel cowlings show that this a CH-46 Seaknight, used by the Marines. Other countries also use the Seaknight.

That doesn't mean that the film is fake, but this possibly could be a remote-controlled helicopter used in a missile test, or it could have simply been mis-captioned.

John ... a couple of words on why this site and CNN aren't engaged in the same practice. "CONTEXT". We are examining this material trying to understand the what tactics the enemy are employing, on a 'anti-terror' blog. Think CSI online. Some of the commenters here are really good at what they do.

If you're here, you already know this isn't the evening news. You are either here to find ways to analyze, and defeat terrorists. Or give aid and comfort to the enemy, like some Muslims, and Lefties do, or you are looking for "BALANCED" details about the war. By 'balanced' we would mean not just hours and hours of bad news that tore up whoever watched it, but good news as well, whichever is available.

CNN doesn't report good news, and exaggerates the bad news, so that an unbalanced presentation of events is what you get from them. In a word, they engage in "PROPAGANDA" by selection, and emphasis of the material they choose. In short, they only seem to use material that hurts our moral, and puts our victory at risk.

Here you get all the variety. Nobody likes the chopper being shot down unless it's some jihadist lurker, or far left psycho. On the other hand unlike CNN just showing the vid over, and over again, and shaking their heads, we try and use this information to arm ourselves, and even to debunk the MSM, like CNN, when they misrepresent something.

Here you get to see vids of C-130's tearing apart terrorist camps, and read about the arrests of hard core Islamist terrorists. It isn't all just Saddam hanging from a rope (which I didn't bother to watch, because I have that choice here, not at CNN) but also the vids with schools being built, and other good things that CNN wouldn't report on if they were paid (because news IS what they get paid for, and they don't report it, so case closed)

I hope this small effort answers your questions. They were fair to a point, and I can see where someone who hadn't measured the difference wouldn't catch it without an explanation.

It's still ugly to see our boys go down in flames, and I think I understand your distress.

13 Ok the difference is.....context and intent. This blog is an active source. You have to come here and actively seek the information. That is what TJR is for. We expose the messages and try and decipher them. We try to close the websites. We try to use thier own propaganda against them. One example I can think of was when the beheadings were occuring the MSM reported them but yu really had not idea just how eveil they are. So there was information that the MSM would not give out. We can supply that information for those wishing to cut through the fog and see the truth of what they are. F*cking evil. CNN is passive. You can be sitting in the beuty shop and see your boys shot passively. It's not good for the war effort and CNN never reported all the dragging the people out of the car and shooting them that IAIproduces.

Just like the other day. I cut the chopper swap vid down a bit. Not because t ws too big I can upload 90 megs to google vid. But beacuse I wasn't too thrilled to show the rest of it (EID's bodys flying such and such). But mike the marine asked and I gave both the original and the copy. He wanted to try and debunk it. Anna Nicole Smith's Boobs Die

Insensitive? Yes. But let's face it, Anna Nicole Smith was famous for two reasons: lefty and righty. All that other stuff--the billionaire, the weight gain, the weight loss, the Jerry Springeresque melodrama, all of it--was really ancillary to her enormous breasts. It was her boobs and her boobs alone that made her rich and famous. And those weren't even real. But, alas, they will be missed.

Oh, and RIP the rest of her. I only hope that God is merciful, because if justice is the only criteria for after life assignment, I'm afraid Anna Nicole Smith isn't going to have much to look forward to.

PS: I can tell you from PERSONAL experience, Miss Eygpt is FAR from the typical Egyptian/Arab gal!

Don't get me wrong, there are some very beautiful Egyptian women, but they just don't have the bodies that western/American women do!

I also found it very interesting that some of the signs in the protests against the cartoons of the prophet called for spoiling the wealth of those who do not show enough respect for Islam. 9 I disagree. If she were an American I would be willing to let it pass. She is not an American. It is not her flag. It is not a shirt or bathing suit with a flag pattern. It is The American Flag. Again I say if she wants to pose nude using a flag as her prop use the one from her communist home country and rub that one all over her butt. 37 My point was not to compare service time. I was questioned as to how I can call that perticular flag mine when it is obviously not in my grasp. Others, even long serving members of our armed forces can miss it, and continue to miss it, even when they retire, and die, and are buried in the flag draped coffin, using a flag he allowed some nasty split tail to romp around in, simply so he can score a piece of ass. That is something I would like hondo to be sure to mention to the folks around his grave as they hand the folded flag to who ever it is that receives it. Make sure the jizz stains and the skid marks are right up front where all can see.

You've set up a straw-man that's not here. There's no indication that this particular piece of cloth was ever draped over some fallen veteran's coffin. Even if it were, would it make a difference to you if that particular veteran specifically WANTED the flag to be displayed wrapped around a half-naked asian girl? Would he have that right?

You have every right to be offended. But surely you understand that offense isn't the only reasonable reaction to the pictures? People who are inspired by the pictures are every bit as entitled to their opinion and may have every bit as much "understanding of pride" as you claim for yourself.

If this little tramp wants to wear this outfit, not much I can do about it. To me, the larger issue is the amount of photos of these girls we are starting to see.

If, on the other hand, someone treats my nation's flag in a manner intended to PROMOTE and HONOR my nation and the ideas it stands for (e.g., by flying the flag, waving it, or wrapping it around a gorgeous piece of living sculpture), I'm likely to be much more agreeable, even if--and this is an important point--the MANNER in which they manage to do so is clumsy and informal according to certain individual's personal standards. In contrast to the first example, this is an example of an INTENT to honor and promote an idea I believe in, and I prefer to accept it according to the manner in which it was offered rather than to dress down or reject the messenger for failing to uphold each and every one of a list of technical formalities for patriotic messaging.

In a different context, my brother sometimes plays the Jimi Hendrix guitar version of The Star-Spangled Banner, and it sends chills down my spine every time I hear it. I know some folks are offended by that version of our national anthem, but my brother plays it in a spirit of patriotic love for his country and it is, in my humble opinion, a truly beautiful thing to hear. Some might criticize my brother and his music, but that song is his personal way of conveying his patriotism, and it's every bit as valid and meaningful as yours, mine or anyone else's.

I don't know how to put it any more clearly than that, so If you're not able to comprehend what I'm saying, I guess I just can't help ya.

And by the way, I completely support the troops and I'm still not sure about the war.

Thanks for hiding the pics. I can see them when I am at home and still enjoy this site at work. BTW my great, great Uncle fought during the Spanish American war to free the Phillipines from Spain, and my Great Uncle Joe did the same during WW2 to drive out the Japs. One of the groomsmen at my first wedding and a good friend of mine is filipino, and my first crush in third grade was over a brainy filipino girl. This is not personal. The flag and the US are bigger than any one of us. This is difficult for many to accept and understandably so. There is a big focus on individuality in America. People would love to be seen as special individuals. That is awesome. It is a huge part of what we are here. The Flag and America are bigger than any one of us. So for a single person to show a lack or respect to the flag, shows a lack of respect to all of us, as individuals. It is difficult for some of the people to understand how I can be so adamant about honoring the flag. My heart is wrapped in Old Glory and I bleed Red White and Blue. If you don't agree with this well there isn't much I can do, nor would I be inclined to do much anyway. But I can speak my mind.

Sure, the flag will get dirty, torn, bloodied, and dragged through the ground. So what? What is worth more, the American virtues of honesty, integrity, and compassion or a piece of cloth?
