Hidden away on al Qaeda's Labayk media website is what appears to a rather extensive submit your best photo contest. You know, stuff like, "me shooting at the Zionist Crusader infidels" and what not. The kind of stuff you and I have in most of our own photo albums. It's either that, or you can think of it as a kind of yearbook.

Anyway, since al Qaeda is just begging for us to look at these images, I present them below. A helluva lot of pics, but I don't think al Qaeda is all that worried about paying the bandwidth bills. Think of it as your patriotic duty to look at them, so al Qaeda will have a bigger bill. PS-if you want to hotlink these images at your site, I'll send you the html to save you time.

I posted two Penn and Teller's Bullsh*t videos over the past few days, as many of you may know. One skewered environmentalist hysteria mercilessly, and the other college.

Mysteriously, both videos have vanished from Google video's searches (even though they were in prominent positions in the search last night.) The video on recycling linked by LGF is also gone.

Some of the others remain up, however. And P&T released many of these episodes exclusively to Goole vid last year. Maybe I'm missing something, but the videos that were at the top of the very same search last night aren't there tonight.

All that's left is a three-minute clip of the environmental hysteria episode. Curiously, all three episodes turned vicious guns on leftwing religions and religious institutions (environmentalism/recycling, college).

Videos of the anti-FOX News propaganda film "Outfoxed" and multiple versions of the crackpot conspiracist closet-case classic "Loose Change" are readily available for consumption.

Don't be evil or disagree with established orthodoxy, apparently.

The Voice of the Caliphate channel is back up, and still broadcasting from Germany. Presently, they are showing an Islamic Army in Iraq compilation video of various "operations" against U.S. targets. Not shown is the video of the Islamic Army in Iraq murdering Italian Red Cross worker Enzo Baldoni. That would be bad PR.

Do your part in the global war against Islamofascism: just click here and suck some of the jihadis bandwidth. Hell, just turn off the sound, minimize it, and leave it on all day. The purpose of the broadcast is to spread the message to would-be jihadis, but there is only so much bandwidth to go around. The more bandwidth we suck, the less available to the would-be mujahideen of the world.

So, what will the new "Voice of the Caliphate" internet channel offer? As of this writing, there is an English subtitled program about the jihad in Chechnya & Dagestan. Your typical jihadi propaganda. Footage of masked fighters yelling "Allahu Akhbar" while firing on some distant and unidentifiable Russian position.

But they even have a program schedule attached to the announcement. All times, GMT--even the mujahideen are on Greenwich time! The broadcasts seem to be mostly the typical stuff found on jihadi message boards. Mostly "operations" of "mujahideen" against the "infidels" (you and me would call this "terrorism"), "documentaries" meant to incite jihad by portraying all military action in Muslim lands as "genocide" or part of a larger "war against Islam" and inspiring lectures from such notables as Osama bin Laden. Yes, that Osama bin Laden.

There is also a note to "spread the word" about the broadcast. Hey, we aim to please!

The Germans are not exactly known for their deep commitment to free speech, and I'm sure this broadcast breaks several German laws. Especially since GIMF is a fairly thinly veiled al Qaeda support front, I cannot fathom the Germans tolerating this. If any one knows how to contact the German authorities, let me know.

UPDATE: Site connection seems to be sketchy. I'm already getting reports of bad connections and error messages. Which is a good sign.... I think. Just keep sucking up that jihadi bandwidth........Remember, bandwidth IS a zero sum game. The more you watch, the less some potential terrorist gets to.

CNN has sold a Hummer they used in Iraq for charity. Proceeds will go help soldiers injured in Iraq.

(CNN) -- Proceeds from the sale of Warrior One, which toured military bases and medical centers nationwide before the auction, will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation. The organization temporarily houses families of patients receiving major medical care in military hospitals and Veterans Affairs facilities.

Dave Liniger, founder of Re/Max International Inc., had the winning bid of $1 million for the Hummer. An additional $250,000 was thrown in by Dave Ressler, a businessman from North Dakota and Montana.

Asked why he bought the vehicle, Liniger said he is a Vietnam veteran who started Re/Max with his wife, Gail, in 1973. The real estate company has grown to 65 countries, he said.

I've argued for organizing hackers as a response to cyber jihadis ("cyber privateering"), so why not bloggers? Clive Thomas argues this very thing in the New York Times Magazine.

Of course, most (but not all) of what Thomas is arguing about is actual government employees working in intel. But the principal is the same and based on the same assumption about the nature of information: it is something no one person can have a monopoly on and is decentralized.

In other words, it is very difficult for a single individual to know enough about our enemies and what they plan, but it may be possible for decentralized networks of individuals to know enough. Enough to say, catch the bad guys or stop them before they do something bad. We've actually seen this over and over agains in recent years with individuals making contacts with would-be terrorists and then bringing in the FBI and other authorities only after the initial investigation phase was completed.

We know quite a few people who are sleuthing behind the scenes . Some have even helped take out some very bad guys. Some are even bloggers. (In fact, a little birdie tells me Fox News may have someting on Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam tomorrow or the next day from one of these sources--keep your eyes peeled!)

Fingar says that more value can be generated by analysts sharing bits of “open source” information — the nonclassified material in the broad world, like foreign newspapers, newsletters and blogs. It used to be that on-the-ground spies were the only ones who knew what was going on in a foreign country. But now the average citizen sitting in her living room can peer into the debates, news and lives of people in Iran. “If you want to know what the terrorists’ long-term plans are, the best thing is to read their propaganda — the stuff out there on the Internet,” the W.M.D. analyst told me. “I mean, it’s not secret. Tom Allard has an extensive article about the rise of the cyber jihad and the internet as a tool for planning, recruiting, and disseminating terrorist propaganda. For those of us interested in winning this war, it's a must read.

The only problem? The experts who claim we cannot fight the cyber jihad have given up before we've even begun.

So there are 5,000 radical Islamist websites now. That's too many websites to shut down, say the experts. Wrong. Try killing upwards of 30,000 jihadis in Iraq at this very moment. Yet we are engaging the enemy wherever we can.

Hmmm, let me see.....which is tougher? Killing 30,000 jihadis or taking down 5,000 websites? And, yeah, for each one we take down another will pop up. But for every terrorist we kill, so does another. The fact that the fight will be tough does not mean it shouldn't be fought.

You do the math. Biggest problem? The compaints that it is difficult to find the cyberterrorists behind the internet jihad. Why is that a problem? Because it tells you we're still in law enforcement mode. We should be on a war footing. And that means treating the internet as both a tool of war (like a gun) and a space where that war is fought (a battlefield). First rule of combat: deny your enemy space to operate. Second rule: the fewer the weapons they have, the better.

Cyber jihadis are planning a major attack on US financial institutions, the Department of Homeland Security has warned. I was given the heads up on this, but I really didn't have much to say. To be honest, the Islamotards really don't have the savvy for an operation this large. Don't. Sweat. It.

If the best they can do is take a website like The Jawa Report offline for a few days, then I think the NYSE is in pretty good shape to ward off an attack.

I mostly agree with noted anti-cyber jihad expert Laura Mansfield's assessment. Here is how she describes where the threat:

The posting [on a well known jihadi forum] called for attackers to use “destructive viruses” and to attempt to bring down the websites and penetrate and destroy databases....

These are basically “entrepreneurial terrorists”, individuals and small groups who are inspired and motivated by Al Qaeda but who do not receive orders or funding from Al Qaeda leadership. Instead, these individuals act on their own and without the support of the Al Qaeda infrastructure....

So far, these “attacks” have caused, at most, minor disruption and slowdown to targeted sites. The organization behind these “terrorist hackers” and their attacks just doesn’t seem to well enough developed to mount a successful attack.

Cyber jihadis have attacked the Vatican website. Okay, maybe they're not your traditional terrorists, but cyberterrorism is a form of terrorism nonetheless. And the Vatican website is part of the Vatican.

I've been checking the Vatican's website all day. It hasn't been down. Kudos to the Swiss Guards of the cybersphere for doing an excellent job.

As someone who's website has been the victim of Turkish cyber jihadis attempting to do the denial of service routine, I can tell you that that this lot isn't the brightest the ummah has to offer. They are pains in the asses, though.

Because you can't spell jihad without GOOGLE.

An organization calling itself 'The Jihad Media Battalion' (alt, brigade), which is linked to al Qaeda in Iraq, has produced a 26 page guide for using the Google search engine to further the goals of the global jihad. The group was formed to promote the dissemination of al Qaeda and other Salafist jihadi propaganda.

According to the authors of the guide, the purpose of learning how to properly use Google is to

remind our Muslim brothers in general, and the mujahideen in particular, the need to learn the arts of jihad on the internet and Jihad media

Thus, the guide instructs users how to search through the cached pages of the pro-jihad al Jazeera website and the jihadi forums of al Hesbah.

Ironically, "photoshop tutorials" is used by The Jihad Media Battalion as an example of something a would be media jihadi might be interested in looking for on the internet. Which makes us wonder whether or not Adnan Hajj is a member of the battalion?

The jihadis understand that the most important battleground in this war is that of propaganda. Unfortunately, very few of our leaders understand this. Or, if they understand it, are unwilling to fight it.

Who are the Jihad Media Battalion? At one time the group called itself "al Qaeda's Jihad Media Battalion" and they have produced a number of pro-jihadi videos aimed at Western audiences. By "al Qaeda" they meant "al Qaeda in Iraq" since their number one star is the now deceased Abu Musab al Zarqawi.

Their goal is to influence Western perceptions of the war in Iraq and elsewhere. We know this because a good deal of their videos are released with English subtitles.

Circumstantial evidence also points to this 'brigade' being located in Scandanavia. Thus, one of al Qaeda in Iraq's media arms may actually be located in Northern Europe. Which also gives us pause to wonder if Maithem Abdul Razzaq might also be closer to The Hague than he is to Yarmouk, Iraq?

It is not clear whether they are officially part of the al Qaeda organization, or only composed of sympathizers wishing to further the jihadi goals. In either case, they clearly see themselves as part and parcel to the global jihad. They see propaganda as a tool of war, and themselves as warriors.

If they consider themselves combatants in the war on terror, why shouldn't we? If they consider propaganda a weapon, then why shouldn't we? And if they consider themselves soldiers wielding weapons, then why should we not treat them as such?

As a matter of practical policy, it would mean making those involved in the media jihad legitimate military targets. It would also mean treating third parties, such as websites, that distribute such propaganda as aiding and abedding terrorism. If unkowingly, then they should be forced to stop this distribution. If knowingly, then they should be prosecuted for facilitating terror.

Difficult? Yes. Especially when treated as a law enforcement issue. As a military matter of cyber war, fairly easy and quick.

But, when one website is shut down, another will pop up. I know this. But the same is true of terrorists. Killing or jailing one means two more will pop up somewhere else.

It's a lot easier to shut down a website than to kill or jail a terrorist. And the more difficult it is to distribute jihadi propaganda, the less likely it is that new recruits will be found.

Did you know you can fight the jihadis without ever leaving your living room? That goes double for you fat asses still living in your mother's basement. It's true.

Below are a couple of interesting stories. First is one about a UK based private intel organization called Vigil. As you know, I've become acquainted with one of its members who feeds me all sorts of stuff that I get to break way before the MSM 'breaks' it.

For instance, this story from the Observer (reposted by Chad) reveals that convicted al Qaeda terrorist Abbas Boutrab visited the Dublin airport in a dry bombing run. The Observer then relates how Omar Bakri Mohammed 'last week' had urged followers to bomb the Dublin airport.

Bakri Mohammed actually said this some time ago. It was only last week that the British press finally reported it. I'm looking at my copy of the Bakri speech and it was sent to me by a member of Vigil on August 10th.

The point? There is a whole lot more that you can be doing. And you don't even have to join the CIA to do it!

Jason at Texas Rainmaker was hacked by the online jihadis. If you visited his site in the past few days and found the hacker's message, make sure to do a virus check on your computer.

He's back up and running now. My guess is that it was a teenager from Saudi Arabia. Check out the screenshot Jason took. The flag is that of Saudi Arabia, and KSA in "K.S.A. Hacker" stands for Key Scheduling Algorithm, which is part of the encryption process. KSA Hacker's tracks are all over the place discussing with other online jihadis how to hack websites. And he has a homepage which he claims is under construction but he uses it to hide files showing other hackers how to do their work.

Looks like our efforts against al-Manar broadcasts being hosted on US servers has born fruit. Hell Yeah and good work Jawa Readers and supporters.

Via CHRON:NEW YORK — A man was charged Monday with supporting terrorists by enabling customers to obtain satellite broadcasts of a Hezbollah television station, the second person accused in a case that has drawn scrutiny over how far the government can go in claiming someone is aiding terrorist groups.

Saleh Elahwal, 53, of Matawan, N.J., and Javed Iqbal, 42, of Staten Island, could each face up to 110 years in prison if they are convicted of all 11 counts in a rewritten indictment unsealed Monday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. They pleaded not guilty.

Lawyers for both declined to comment outside court. Prosecutors said weeks ago they planned to bring additional charges as they as they collect evidence and build a case.

Iqbal, a Pakistani businessman, was charged in August with helping his customers receive broadcasts of al Manar, which was designated by the U.S. government this year as a global terrorist entity. At the time, the charges against him carried a potential prison term of five years.

Al Manar, launched in 1991, features news programming that promotes Hezbollah's positions and shows statements from the terror group and speeches from its leader, the government has said.

As part of their probe, FBI agents searched two storefronts in Brooklyn where Iqbal worked and at his residence, where multiple satellite dishes helped him distribute the broadcasts to New York-area customers through a Brooklyn company called HDTV Limited, prosecutors said.

The indictment accused the men of carrying out the scheme from September 2005 through August.

Iqbal's representatives criticized the government's case after his August arrest, saying his First Amendment rights were violated.

The US Air force will start a new cyber warfare command. Of course liberal NPR got all paranoid about the “evil military” controlling the “good internet”.

All I can say is they are very short sighted. The main thrust of the article is that we need to defend critical systems against cyber intrusion and critical information theft. But also is broad enough to include going after enemy propaganda and information.

Reuters: Last month, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff defined cyberspace as "characterized by the use of electronics and the electromagnetic spectrum to store, modify, and exchange data via networked systems and associated physical infrastructures."

The definition is broad enough to cover far more than merely defending or attacking computer networks. Wynne cited the use of remotely detonated roadside bombs in Iraq, "terrorist use of Global Positioning Satellites and satellite communications, Internet financial transactions by adversaries, radar and navigational jamming, and attacking American servers" as examples of operations involving cyberspace.

"This new way of war is data-dependent," he said. "We need to protect our data while detecting adversary data and then deny, disrupt, dissuade or destroy the source of that data or transmission as appropriate."…

…Heading the new command will be 8th Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Robert Elder, who said its capabilities would include, for instance, taking down a financial network if ordered to do so by the president or defense secretary.

"We see that as certainly within our realm," provided such action was consistent with laws of war such as proportionality and minimizing unintended harm to civilians, he told reporters at a briefing after Wynne's announcement.

Although the focus of U.S. efforts until now has been on defense, "we've come to realize there are a lot of things that we can do in the cyberspace domain that would be good for national security," Elder said.

The internet brings people together. It brings you and your enemy closer than you have ever been before. We would never have tolerated Tokyo Rose to be broadcast from US soil. We would never have Nazi agents to broadcast to our public.

However our terrorist enemy uses the internet to spread its propaganda, to communicate with each other, and to recruit fighters to oppose us. They often use services provided in the US.

It is imperative that some of this new command be dedicated to denying the terrorists the ability to spread their message by attacking and removing their websites. This will also damage their command and control and communications.

Cyberspace is a new battleground where there are no national boundaries. We must be present and fight on this platform. Killing terrorist websites is nearly as important as fighting the terrorists on the ground.

I suggest dedicated teams to harass, hack, bother, bug, insult, irritate and interfere with these sites whenever and where ever they are found. Not only will this disrupt their activities it will help by destroying confidence in the terrorists.

Right now they say,. “Look here we are and they cannot remove our presence on the web. It gives them credibility.

But take down and destroy a popular or flagship terrorist website and that perception will be shattered. The users will instantly know they are missing a site. I can tell you from experience here at the Jawa Report, it don’t feel too damn good. It is a great way to destroy the morale of the enemy.

The Pentagon has set up a new unit to counter inaccurate propaganda. Will it work? I just don't know. It seems to me that they haven't been very good at it in the past.

It wasn't just that they lacked the how-to skills or the resources, but they just don't seem willing to play the game. It's a dirty game. One in which our enemies abroad do not observe the nicities of the Geneva Conventions. The first rule of the propaganda game is to understand that those engaged are enemy combatants and thus legitimate targets. And if you can legitimately kill your enemy then taking out their websites or excluding them from war zones seems a much lesser matter.

You do not treat the cyber-jihad as a matter of criminal enforcement, or of intelligence gathering, but as warfare. It can be fought. It can be won.

It seems to me that the Pentagon is doing what they have always done: preparing to fight the last war. If they are just now getting around to planning for the 24 hour news cycle-- a phenomenon of the 1990s -- then there is no way they are prepared to fight the online cyber-jihad.

Still, at least they are fighting. BBC:

The US defence department has set up a new unit to better promote its message across 24-hour rolling news outlets, and particularly on the internet.

The Pentagon said the move would boost its ability to counter "inaccurate" news stories and exploit new media...

The administration is particularly concerned that insurgents in areas such as Iraq have been able to use the web to disseminate their message and give the impression they are more powerful than the US, our correspondent says.

3 They can hack 'em till their butts bleed.  Or better, they could send an email to a few jihad sites with manufactured incriminating evidence of fabricated atrocities committed by our government against innocent Muslim women and children.  And time the virus piggybacked on that email to blow out the bios on jihadi computers once the email has circulated enough.

That would make me smile, although it's probably illegal under international law.  So don't do it.

I just wanted to show the contrast between the sanitized Juba film from the Islamic Army in Iraq and the some of the groups other work. The Jawa Report has obtained a copy of one of their other videos released for Jihadi sweeps week.

It’s a kind of, "The Best of our Murderous Rage" type thingy. There are many hostages in the Video. I’ve taken frames from the first half of the video showing four of the hostages and their fate. I located a rough translation of the Arabic for all the hostages in the video.

Note they claim one of the drivers for Chalabi died of his injuries. Well no, the guy was murdered. See the similarity. Murdered vs Just Died. You don’t? He died of his injuries, specifically the one caused when they released the attachment of his head to his body. See how this works? Remember lying to kufar and apostates is allowed in Islam. Just like lying to your dog.

Note that so far as I can tell every hostage murdered in this video was Muslim. Every single one.

This video, shot by the insurgent groups as propaganda for the Muslim world as well as a recruiting tool for a number of Islamo-fascist websites, showed terrorist snipers attacking American soldiers in Iraq.

I am struck by the other video the IAI released. It shows up to ten Iraqi men. I need to get frame grabs of these men. These are Muslim Iraqi men who died for their nation. They must not be forgotten. They are the true martyrs.

That was the video intended for the Iraqi audience.

Multi National Force:CAMP AL ASAD, Iraq – The Coalition Forces killed six insurgents, wounded four and netted five sniper rifles Sunday in the Euphrates River city of Hit, Iraq.

The Coalition Force positively identified 10 males conducting insurgent activity in a parking lot prior to engaging them with a heavy volume of fire.

The insurgents were gathered around a car while distributing black masks, AK-47 assault rifles and rocket propelled grenade launchers to one another.

After the engagement the Coalition Force personnel searched three insurgent vehicles in the parking lot and captured the following equipment:

o (5) sniper rifles
o (3) sniper rifle magazines
o (11) AK-47 assault rifles
o (19) AK-47 assault rifle magazines
o (3) rocket propelled grenades with launchers
o (1) RPK machine gun
o (2) PKC machine gun
o (1) video camera
o (1) bullet-proof vest with protective plates
o (2) hand grenades
o (7) load bearing vests
o (8) black masks

During the engagement, some of the insurgent weapons were destroyed, and found burning inside the vehicles.

“Today was significant for Coalition Forces because it reduced the sniper threat in Hit by a considerable margin,” said Lt. Col. Thomas Graves, commanding officer for the Friedburg, Germany-based 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment.

“We will take advantage of this opportunity by continuing our efforts to develop Iraqi Army and Iraqi Police forces within Hit,” said Graves.

1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment is the Coalition Forces unit responsible for training Iraqi Security Forces and providing security to the city of Hit.

Coalition Forces evacuated the four wounded insurgents to a nearby U.S. military medical facility for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Hit is a city of about 60,000 located 35 miles northwest of Ramadi in Iraq’s Al Anbar Province.

So it should come as no surprise to learn that when the Islamic Army of Iraq decided to release their new Juba 2: Baghdad Sniper 2006 video they turned to American-run blogs, webservers, and email providers. Juba 2, like it's predecessor from last fall, documents the sniper attacks of the group on US servicemen in Iraq.

According to whois, the jubaonline.org domain is registered to an Aaron Wilson, of Van Nuys, CA, using the email address mawsuat@yahoo.com. Both Wilson's name and the mawsuat@yahoo.com email address have been used before by other jihadist websites.

The site is hosted on a server in Rochester MN, hosted by Sitegenie LLC

Update II: Very interesting. Several of you I see are doing research of your own. The same friend of the Jawa from above did some more digging last night.

First alboraqmedia.org is the Islamic Army of Iraq's website. Dig around a bit on them and you find a similar registration. Also with the same registration is The Algerian Salafist Army(via blackflag an anti terror website). Very similar but with a different email.

But we are dealing with corportations here, 48 hours is PDQ for them.
