Galilea Montijo - Evidence that Legal Immigration is a Good Thing

In case you haven't noticed, the name "Galilea Montijo" has been burning up the internet tubes for weeks now--and not without good reason. The girl is gorgeous (more pics here).

We've been talking about immigration a lot lately, and y'all know where I stand on illegal immigration. Amidst all the heated debate, we should not forget that immigration--legal immigration--has generally been, and continues to be, a very good thing for our nation. This is even more true when the immigrants in question bear any resemblance to Galilea Montijo.

If you're wondering why Galilea's name had such a "buzz" going on, it turns out a video surfaced a few weeks back featuring a woman purported to be Galilea. It turns out that it wasn't her, as you can tell pretty clearly when the two are side-by-side (there's a video linked here that makes the comparison-NSFW). The woman in the video is believed to be Colombian adult film star Monique Fuentes (likely NSFW), who is also more than welcome to (legally) emigrate, as far as this gringo is concerned.

2 My lowly Dodge RAM 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 has such a shallow carbon hoof divot. Even with the Rancho 4" lift and 33" tires on 20" wheels.

So, I'm getting a 2500 Mega Cab 4x4 with the Cummins Turbodiesel. I'll lift it 2" and put 35" inchers on it. That ought to... ah... "help."

My dream ammendment would be, "Congress shall make no law." That would be perfect. That and making it illegal for anyone with a law degree to serve in any legislative body. Or live.

Well, That's A Relief

I haven't been around much lately (like anyone noticed).

The reason being is that I've been in a bit of a funk lately, and that funk has been directly tied to the news that France was possibly, then probably, then definitely, electing a pro-U.S. president.

I realize that should be good news, but to me, it wasn't. You see, the first words out of my mouth weren't "mama" or "dada," but "Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey."

However, thanks to the brilliant Buckley F. Williams, I can now focus my irreverent loathing to the northeast on Europe's map.

I now can use the phrase "Waffle Eating Surrender Monkeys."

I'm going to sleep well tonight for the first night in days.

He was born in and ruled what was later to become the state of Belgium and what he did, for you, me...all of us, has earned Belgium's place in our debt forever. What did he do? Why, none other than kicked the shit out of the Muslims when they tried to take over Europe. I for one am pleased to the point of hysteria that my mother and sister don't wear tent-like clothes, that my dad doesn't have a massive beard and a stupid-looking hat and that we don't have to go and kneel in a gaudy building 5 times a day and mumble to an invisible man. And I've got, amongst others, Charles Martel to thank for that.

World of Warcraft Cyber D*cks

A little nerd stuff for everyone. I do not play nor do I own World of Warcraft. Stopped at Warcraft 2, so I'm hip to the series.

Anyway, some well-known W.o.W. player died (in real life), and a bunch of game administrators thought it would be a nice idea to let his playing buddies come to a "memorial service" within the game to pay their respects. They took the player's character to a lake and set up a memorial service.

A 'guild' of W.o.W. players (a group that plays the game together regularly) came up with the brilliant idea of ambushing and slaughtering everyone's characters as they stood unsuspecting at this memorial service.

It may be a little confusing (or boring) if you don't know the game, but I just couldn't stop from giggling in a few places. I know its terrible, but the whole idea of some group of individuals deciding to film and upload a virtual ambush on a funeral procession in a virtual fantasy world involving real people who spend inordinate amounts of time there just kept repeatedly striking me a hilarious.

The W.o.W. equivalent of the Westboro Baptist Church. With sorcery and a slew of acquired skills. The video of the ambush doesn't' start until after the shots of player hatemail at about 2:10.

4 It's actually over a year old. This is why many people don't enjoy playing on open PvP (player vs player) servers. An amazing number of people spend most of their time trying to find ways to screw with other players and the goal seems to be to make others gaming experience as intolerable as possible. The non PvP servers are still disrupted but most of the people that really enjoy that kind of thing migrate to the PvP servers eventually, after they are ignored long enough.
At risk of revealing my total lack of a life, I wasn't surprised to see that it was an Alliance guild attacking Horde characters.....wow, I'm pathetic huh?

8 This reminds me very much of a similar incident in the Sony Online Entertainment game, "Planetside".

One of the well known players was killed in a car crash. (not due to any fault of his own) So several of his online associates decided to have a remembrance get-together at a specific area in the Planetside world. They specifically chose a neutral area that was protected by a large shield, so that it would be hard for griefers to attack them. Unfortunately, they didn't count on how determined some griefers can be. The get-together was attacked by a well-known griefing group and utterly ruined.

It is rather sad that some people will go so far out of their way just to ruin an event for other people. But it does show you just how depraved some people are when they take specific glee from the ruination of other's fun.

This should serve as a warning to game GM's. If you want to have a special event such as this, you MUST set-aside a special area of the world where it is impossible to attack anyone, or to create macro spam or chat box spam. It is also critical to have several GM's online and watching to remove obvious greifers from the area before they can cause trouble.

9 Speaking as a WoW-player (and geek - but I repeat myself) who plays exclusively on one of the "sissy" servers (player vs environment not player vs player), I think the real story here would have been holding an event like that on a PvP server and not getting bushwacked by drooling retards; this video for me is just a simple confirmation of one of the common sense rules of life - if without much effort an idiot can ruin someone else's day or otherwise mess with his crap... he will. That's just the way it works. Sending the perps hatemail at that point is like kicking the dog for sh!tting on the rug - it doesn't know any better...

As for the "gulag," if you could please point out the relevant piece of international law that covers the detentions at Gitmo, I would love to see a link. It's my understanding that fighters out of uniform are not covered under the Geneva Conventions, and I've seen no other example of international law that prevents us from putting them up against a wall and shooting them.

As for the targeting of key individuals, please elaborate. Sentence fragments do not equal compelling arguments, so please make them.

Also, I'm not sure that wiretapping international calls can truly be called internal surveillance. Tapping my call from NY to Seattle would be internal surveillance.

The press is generally pretty free, but seeing as Bush has meetings with conservative commentators as to how best sell his policies, and seeing as how the military embedding is a total joke, yeah... this admin does everything it can to control the media.

Nice try fagnar. It's a common error. It was still Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and you could say Fascist Spain, and Communist Soviet Union. There is a clear distinction, but they were all still socialist.

Listen, mattersnot, perhaps you have your own little personal dictionary in which you've defined the word "fascist" in such a way as to not include Germany in the 1930s and 40s. Knock yourself out. You're free to define the word "fascist" for yourself however you like--but that doesn't mean any of the rest of us will accept your personal definition written in your own personal dictionary.

For the rest of us, the commonly-accepted, generally-used meaning of the word "fascist" most definitely applies to Germany in the 1930s and 40s.
