They've Been Working on the Railroad
Heidi at Euphoric Reality has been following the case of the Marines charged with murdering civilians in the Sunni insurgent-infested hellhole of Haditha, and makes a detailed and compelling case for a frameup by locals and "journalists" covering the story.
Heidi's post is a long read, but well worth the effort, as she reveals information that the Western Press, slavering over the thought of an Iraqi My Lai massacre, has suppressed.
These are the men to whom Jack Murtha has been seeking to deny due process. And this isn't the first time that the Press and feather merchants at Eighth and Eye have tried to screw over combat Marines.

Bluto,it is neither the locals nor MSM that have indicted these Marines. It was however Time magazine that did bring it out into the light of day, as Seymour Hersh did with the killings at My Lai. This tragic incident has been carefully investigated for over one year. I do not feel that the Marine Corps would have brought charges at this time against a Lieutenant Colonel unless they had pretty some pretty strong evidence. Also, I believe, the libel suit brought by Sgt Wutterich against Rep Murtha was dropped some months ago as his attorneys had noted that Murtha had never mentioned their client by name. would you have any more on this ?

Trust a traitor like John Ryan to glory in these Marines' plight. John Ryan, the last Marine that the brasshats at Eight and Eye had enough evidence to bring charges against was Ilario Pantano. Do you have more information about his fate, you treasonous piece of shit? The charges were dropped, and Pantano resigned his commission n disgust. Another good Marine lost because partisan assholes, such as yourself, John Ryan, want to smear the American military. Have I mentioned before that I consider you to be a stupid and evil person?
I highly recomend the movie "Rules of Engagement".
It was made before a lot of this other crap came up, and it is almost prophetic. I think it should be required viewing for anyone commenting about Jihad, terrorism, and the Middle East, as it relates to what our troops have to face.
What troops have to face in real, life and death combat.
Also, Merry Christmas.

"Rules of Engagement" is one of the finest movies ever made, and definitely the best when it comes to dealing with islamopithecine terrorism and deceit. Guy Pierce's brilliant performance alone is enough to recommend it. (I saw it three times before I recognized him. I thought he really was a Brooklyn native.)
Tellingly, this movie was made in 2000. After 9-11-2001, we get nothing but apologies for islame from Hollywood, with White, neo-Nazi, or Columbian terrorists.
Islamopithecine wogs murder 3000 innocent people on our soil, and all of a sudden, we're supposed to stop reviling islame and start loving it.
It's enough to make me puke.

Here's an interesting historical factoid: In the declining days of
Rome, it was quite common for influential politicians to sabotage
military campaigns by propaganda and lies so as to cause failure with
which to discredit political rivals. It was even common for corrupt
Roman politicians to make deals with Rome's enemies in order to gain
politically at home. When no honest man could hold the throne, it fell
solely to a rapid succession of conniving backstabbers, and the great
and diverse empire split in two. The last Emperor of the West was a
barbarian, and then the Dark Ages came.

Is Capt. Jamil Hussein in Hiding?
For the most part, both the corporate news outlets and the left side of the blogosphere have been deafeningly quiet on the Jamil Hussein story. Every now and then, though, somebody pops his head up and, whipped up in a fit of ignorant (or feigned) rage, launches an intolerant tirade against any who would question the official corporate line. In the course of an extended rant against all of us who would dare question the veracity of a local Iraqi stringer, at least one blogger in the AP cheering section infers that Jamil Hussein hasn't come forward because the attendant publicity would put his family in danger:
It is strange that the AP doesn't seem interested in dragging out an Iraqi source and shouting, "Dance, monkey!" while all their bureau reporters and staff circle up and clap rhythmically. I'm sure Hussein would then be welcome on many national television shows and, afterward, he could go home with some lovely green room gift baskets and a big target to stick on his family.
Unfortunately, this is about as close to factual analysis as the AP cheering section has so far managed to get.
I'm fairly certain this story would have already gone away if the AP had just admitted that the "Burning Six" story was fabricated and issued a retraction. They refuse to do so, and that's why this story is important. But it's not going away, Ms. Carroll. We're not going to let you get away with a strategy of standing your ground, sticking to your guns and just hoping it blows over.
It's not going to blow over because this story is really not about what happened in a neighborhood in Baghdad on November 24, 2006.
This story is not even about whether or not Police Capt. Jamil Hussein exists, whether the 61 AP stories that used Capt. Hussein as a source have any veracity, or whether there is or is not a "civil war" in Iraq.
This story is about a western news media establishment that gets duped and exploited by politically-motivated local stringers time (Mohammed al-Dura) after time (Jenin) after time (Bassem Mroue) after time (Adnan Hajj) after time (Green HalmetHelmut Helmet) after time (The Qana Ambulance) after time (The Burning Six).
This system is broken, folks, and the LEFT WING should be every bit as concerned about this as the right wing. If the "eyes" and the "ears" of our nation are being flooded with false images and sounds, how is the "brain" expected to make good decisions? It can't. This is not a left or right issue, people!!
1
"Green Halmet"? Next you be telling us to watch out for the old lady in the "Blue Hairmet"
What keeps me interested in this story is just how indignant and insulting Carroll and company was. They didn't just stubbornly stand by their story, they went out of their way to attack and insult everyone who questioned them. One of the basic rules of free rhetorical debate is to only fling personal attacks when (1) you are just being a jackass and don't care if you lose the argument, or (2) you are trying to lure your opponent into a trap. Ms. Carroll sounds like a junior high school Kos kid, except she apparently forgot that she lacks the ability to yell "screw all you douchebags, I'm banning you from commenting on my blog!"

Unimpressed, I think you are right about the percentage, but why don't
they care? Why don't people care that what they see on the tube
has some relation to reality? Why don't people care that there is
a whole cottage industry in Gaza that reconstructs Israeli attacks,
recreates them, or just downright fabricates them? If 6 didn't
die then might 60 have lived, or 655,000?
We are told that we have lost in Irak. How do we really know one
way or the other, if what we hear, see, and read is simple
hearsay? Foreign policy/national security decisions based upon
political pressure from gossip. High tech gossip, but gossip
nonetheless.

I have my enemies list, and I don't forget. I'll talk about AP's lies to anyone I can until they are gone. They have used up my good will. For them I have no other cheek to turn. Lying deceitful scum!

Of course this is a left and right issue. The left are lying, and the right are calling them on it. So are you. (Calling them on it.)
"Right" is a synonym for "correct," you know.
How much longer are decent people going to pay tribute to the left by patronizing their propaganda sources before we declare war and fight back with all we have? Until the inevitable nuclear attacks on our country? (Yes.)
The left revels in false images and sounds that convey their agenda. The ends always justify the means to the unprincipled.

While the ant analogy sounds good on the surface it has a fatal flaw. Yes you are small and the AP is big. You are correct. But Ants; although small, work in huge numbers.
There just aren't huge numbers of people aware of this story. There aren't huge numbers of people who were aware of the original AP story.
If you don't believe me do a Google news search for "Jamil Hussein." There are about a half a dozen bloggers trying to keep this alive. The only news outlet is the Northern Arizona Rural News. Northern Arizona may be the least populated region of the U.S.
If you want the AP to start accepting reality, then you should probably accept some too.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq executed 13 men convicted of murder, kidnapping and other crimes, the government said Tuesday.
Video released by the government showed the men wearing hoods and green jumpsuits, and standing against a wall shortly before they were hanged. Some images showed two men standing together on a gallows with nooses around their necks.
It's good to see them pushing back against the numerous jihad videos that are aired on t.v. and posted ad nauseum on the internet.
Expect comparisons to Saddam from the usual suspects, though.

President: 5900 Enemy Killed, Captured Since October

Malkin Goes Snipe Hunting in BaghdadMichelle Malkin has been invited by Eason Jordan to come to Baghdad to search for the mythical Jamil Hussein. From what I understand, the "Jamil" hunt is the Baghdad equivalent of the "snipe" hunt that the youngest Boy Scouts are taken on at their first camping trip. I wish Michelle all the best of luck and hope she does better than I did as a young Tenderfoot. In fact, I'm still looking for one of those pesky 'snipes'.......

All Jordan has to do is go to the AP. They know where Jamil is. Right?
All sarcasm aside, since Jordan says they are searching for Jamil, it
shouldn't be that hard to find him if he indeed exists. Afterall
the AP even stated which city and which police department he allegedly
worked at.
$10 bucks says the reporter who was supposed to have "met with him" "in
his office" "several times" lied and the AP got caught drooling over
another fake, juicy story.

What they're really hunting for is the AP's journalistic standards. They'd have better luck locating a real snipe.
Come to think of it, Kathleen Carroll is a gutter-snipe. They don't need to head to Iraq after all.
If Jordan thinks he can vindicate the AP by producing some shmuck who claims to be the man known as Jamil Hussein, he's got another think coming. That would just highlight their status as a liars, because "Hussein's" story is as bogus as his identity.

Divide And Conquer
Well, it seems the good old U S of A has the country of origin of 15 out of the 19 9/11 hijackers by the short hairs:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia has told the Bush administration that it might provide financial backing to Iraqi Sunnis in a war against Iraqi Shiites if the United States withdraws from
Iraq, The New York Times reported on Tuesday, citing American and Arab diplomats.
King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia delivered that message to
Dick Cheney during the U.S. vice president's brief visit last month to Riyadh, the newspaper said, citing the officials it did not name.
Cheney traveled to Saudi Arabia, a close U.S. ally[close ally, yeah right - V] and the world's top oil exporter, to discuss Iraq and how to break the deadlock in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
During the visit, King Abdullah expressed strong opposition to diplomatic talks between the United States and
Iran, which is largely Shi'ite, the Times said.
The Iraq Surrender Group has had a useful purpose all along. They're scaring the bejebus out of every tinhorn, pisspot thugocracy in the Middle East by suggesting that we "dialogue" with Iran and Syria. Well, every tinhorn, pisspot thugocracy that isn't named "Iran" or "Syria."

Good post Vinnie. I heard about this, but you add a bit of flavor to what seemed bland elswhere.
Also I'd like to mention to 'civilbehavior', it isn't exactly like turning off a spigot. There are maybe three, or four ways to stop the oil money.
One possibility; replace oil with some sort of miracle fuel that makes oil a pathetic choice.
Second possibility; conquer it all by force, since the guys who have it will happily sell it to the rest of the world, even if we never bought another drop. Then we could use the cash to stop global (insert crisis here)!
Third option; nuke the middle east so that no one can have it.
Or if you believe, then it may actually be possible to appeal to the better qualities of humanity. Give them something better than jihad in the name of Allah, and for the local dictators. You Know ... freedom, and democracy! But I guess that option is just pie-in-the-sky to some folks, ain't it?
So absent a new, free society whats left? Technological breathrough, or war.
Unless 'civilbehavior' has a secret recipe for 'miracle fuel', it looks like we do this hard! If you, civibehavior do have the secret to super fuel, and you sell the product dirt cheap, then I gues you won't be making any profit, and you probably will get tired of hearing about Al Gore.
Anyway, I'm glad I popped in.

Stopping the oil revenue effectively "stops the war on terror" if for no other reason it shuts down the support that is given to the madrasses. Look to Saudi Arabia, Bush's boys in oil. they were the financiers of the 911 hijackers not Iraq but without Iraq and Iran the US doesn't have the control of the spigot.
If either decided to go euro (which Saddam was threatening to do and was his biggest threat) it would have been devastating for the US. Our economy is on shaky ground as it is. 9 trillion in debt and a third of it owed to communists?
Yeah, you guys who think nuking the world have really thought this out.
And as for miracle fuel.......start with your American car manufacturers and your Republican Congressman who refused to address CAFE standards in the last energy bill. No one is saying the Chinese and India aren't going to suck it down but let them try to find a way without bankrupting their treasuries and nations blood to keep it stable. In the meantime we shoud be working on a Mahattan project to turn down our own spigot.

So I decided to run a little experiment. I wrote this post this morning. It includes three stories. The first is the car bombing in Baghdad today. The second is a story about Iraqi Police finding a bomb near the Golden Mosque in Samarra. The third is about Iraqi army forces freeing 23 hostages and capturing or killing some members of the cell.
I consider the deaths of the innocent people in the car bombing, “negative news.†I consider the other two stories “positive news.â€
I decided to follow all three today and see just who picked them up and who didn’t. To test the old saying, “Bad news travels fast.â€
First we have the bad news about the car bombing. It has 779 entries on Google news. Everyone reported it as expected.
Next we have the attempted bombing at the Mosque. It has only 10 entries on Google News. NPR did report this over lunch hour. However, note the al-Reuters story uses a misleading sensational headline, “Bomb explodes at Iraq's Samarra mosqueâ€. That kind of dampens the mood eh?
And last but not least we have Centcom’s report on the hostage recovery, with enemy terrorists killed and captured. It has one entry on Google News, me.
But we follow a lot of hostage stories. So I thought surely CSM will be covering this. After all Jill Carroll works for CSM. So I surfed on over and nope, nada, nothing!
I would have expected that 23 hostages saved from being shot or cruelly beheaded would be news and big news at that. I guess not.
Wow. This really demonstrates the bias evident in the MSM. Just last night I got into an arguement with some friends who do not read blogs, and the crux was that they thought the war was going bad because of all the bad things on the news. They don't read the blogs and didn't realize that there is any good coming out of Iraq. I'll e-mail them this link because it illustrates way better than I was able to explain.

Not really Howie. Foreign hostage takings in Iraq have mostly stopped so I don't really keep track of them anymore. I'm currently following the case of Gilad Shalit. He is expected to eventually be freed for 1,400 terrorists but you have suprisingly not mentioned that. That's big news. 1,400 terrorists for one kid soldier. Some big time Hamas leaders are guaranteed to be freed for him.

Are you saying the Establishment Media want America to fail in Iraq and the wider Middle East? How can that be? Everyone from Kathleen Carrol to Dan Rather has gone on record denying that no left-wing bias exists. Who could doubt the word of Matt Lauer, or "Pinch" Sulzburger? George: Yeah that's a sucky trade. But that's what happens when you back down against the Islamists. The price goes up. Way up.
No Jeff. It may be that some of it is bias but I feel we could have also ran more good stories. It's hard. Car wreck syndrome. But in war there is always plenty of bad news so you have to make an effort report the good stories. If you don't morale suffers.
I'm sure that there are more problems with the way we've done things. But our poor information strategy can't be helping. All the bad news affects morale and war is all about building yours and tearing down his. I wonder just how much it has affected the situation. To what extent the natural tendancy to report the bad has contributed to our lack of will?

Iraqis Arrest Shiite Militia Leader
Hopefully it is a good sign that the Iraqis are finally taking on Shiite militia leaders. While not identified as such in the press release, the fact that the group is called "Martyr Sadr" and is identified as an "Illegal armed group" rather than "insurgents" means that this was a group of Shiites. Since he was detained for "smuggling arms", there is really only one country that he could have been smuggling from: Iran.

Today's SAT lesson kids: Office of the Martyr Sadr is to the Mahdi Army as Sinn Fein was to the IRA.
It is the political mouthpiece of Muqtada al-Sadr and his merry band of jackasses, named for Mookie's old man who was sent to the big harem in the sky by Saddam back in the day.
Basically Rusty, you have it right - if you reorganize the letters in "Sadr" it spells "Iran"... well... in arabic... just kiddin... but not really...

BAGHDAD – Iraqi Soldiers, with the support of coalition forces, found 23 hostages and arrested six kidnappers when conducting ongoing operations in a western neighborhood of the Iraqi capital Dec. 11.
The 4th Battalion, 1st Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division team observed two vehicles that had stopped a local national bus, forcing the passengers off the bus at approximately 10:40 a.m.. The Iraqi Army Soldiers pursued the suspects who got back into the two vehicles and drove off in separate directions.
The Iraqi Army soldiers stopped one of the fleeing vehicles west of an established checkpoint in the area. One kidnapper was killed and two others wounded due to the small arms fire used by the Iraqi soldiers to stop the fleeing car. In the trunk of the stopped vehicle, one kidnap victim was found.
The other car, a white Daiwoo, was also followed from the location where passengers were forced from a bus. The Iraqi Army pursued this vehicle until it stopped in front of a house nearby. Two additional kidnap victims were freed from the trunk of the vehicle and 20 more kidnap victims were found inside the house. Six kidnappers were detained from this incident.
After further investigation, most of the kidnapped victims are believed to be Shi’a and predominately from Abu Ghraib and Ramadi. Some of the victims showed signs of abuse; they had been badly beaten.
All 23 rescued victims have been transferred to the 4/1/6 IA Headquarters and are receiving medical treatment.
The kidnappers have been identified as Sunni’s. The kidnapping cell leader, a Syrian named Abu Mousan, escaped capture.
This is good news. The terrorists kidnap ordinary working people and accuse them of crimes. If a ransom cannot be secured, often they are murdered in snuff videos.
Of course the terrorists will target people working regular jobs. Unemployment and poverty are conditions they require as part of their plans to take power.
There was also a bomb planted today near the entrance of the Golden Mosque in Samarra. If was found and removed. No one was injured.
Centcom: SAMARRA, Iraq – A bomb discovered by Iraqi police near the entrance of the Golden Mosque in Samarra detonated today at noon. Iraqi police were conducting a routine patrol of the area when they found the improvised explosive device placed at the main doorway of the mosque.
The police officials immediately requested assistance from Coalition Forces and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to help secure the area and diffuse the bomb.
The EOD team was successful in removing the detonation wire and fuse. However, during their attempt to remove the bomb, it exploded and caused minimal damage to the door and entry way.
A team of Iraqi police searched the interior of the mosque to ensure no injuries or damage was sustained.
“This action by the terrorists shows they have no respect for Islam, and are only concerned about killing innocent civilians,†said Lt. Col. Viet Luong, commander of 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.
“This bomb was built to cause maximum damage and because of the heroic action of the Iraqi police, this damage was minimized.â€
Both of these positive results were achieved by the Iraqi forces.

Bonus: Watch the explosion around 1:20 - I could be wrong, but I think the Army Rangers detonante explosives in the testicular regions of a Saddam statue. The resulting explosion rips a hole through the statue in said testicular region. Heh.

I always feel so privileged to be the first to post comments, although a bit shocked that after 5 hours no one else jumped at the chance to comment on THIS one. Well first it is a bit long at just over 13 minutes, and the end piece with Pvt Haglund is a repeat. Also I had not heard of the names of any of the stars performing for the troops. When I went to the official site of Jamie O'Neil her on site photo looked much different than the person currently performing under that name. It might be just 10 years later in a hard life. http://www.jamieoneal.com/home/index.php The New England Pats cheerleaders were there but since I did see them during Sunday's game I assume this is there "B" squad. All in all I would give it 2.5 stars for #1supporting the troops #2 supporting the "stay the course" position (or its replacement key word "forward".

Multi National Force Press Get’s ExposureSeldom do you see Multinational Force releases on memeorandum. But a story we ran on Thursday was picked up by other bloggers over the weekend and did show. The more we all link them the more exposure these stories will get. If you read TJR this week you get a striking difference from the defeatism that is running rampant of late in the MSM.
Flopping Aces notes a story from The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq that started out on a few obscure websites and then moved to al-Jazeera. Then was picked up by the AP. We are accused of “atrocitiesâ€. FloppingAces noted the discrepancy with the Multi National Force’s account and asks, is this more “News From The Enemy?â€
The answer is YES! I believe this report came from the funerals following the strike where an American Pilot was lost when his F16 crashed supporting ground troops and operations to secure the area afterward.
When this was first reported on al-Jazeera along with the pictures of our pilot there were shots of dead “martyred mujahadeenâ€. There were shots of the damage caused by the warplane that occurred during the battle. The ending shot showed a black flag flying over the damaged structure with cheering fighters. These were combatants, mujahadeen, fighters, soldiers.
But at the funerals the story changes. The plane was not shot down during the battle. They mention a plane but it was used to cause damage afterward to “cover up crimes†that occurred during the battle. . They give an entirely different description of events. They say there were no fighters present, all were unarmed innocent civilians and were gunned down with no provocation. In direct disagreement with the first story.
This is now the version of events being pushed by Association of Muslim Scholars. A group with ties to Sunni insurgents in Iraq.
The group of hard-line Sunnis, which has routinely opposed the "U.S. occupation" of Iraq, alleged that American soldiers entered two Iraqi homes, shot their large families to death, then planted bombs that blew up the buildings to make it look as if the Iraqis had died in a U.S. airstrike targeting insurgents.
“U.S. planes bombed two adjacent houses in al-Jalameda area after midnight targeting the houses of the two brothers Mohammed and Mahmoud Hussein Jalmoud in western Ishaqi,†the source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VoI) by telephone. “According to a preliminary toll, the bombing resulted in the death of 30 residents,â€
So yes this is the enemy’s propaganda. Innocent civilians who just happen to have:
MNF: AK-47s, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, anti-personnel mines, explosives, blasting caps and suicide vests. Who could they be? Coalition Forces also found that two of the terrorists killed were women. Al-Qaida in Iraq has both men and women supporting and facilitating their operations unfortunately.
So you see why it’s important that blogs carry our side of the story. Since this story was already known, when the enemys distorted acount comes it is recognized quickly.
If just keep supporting these stories we can get them a lot more exposure. I’ve noted that if a few blogs run a story a lot of MSM outlets jump on it. That is if we can just get them past using our side as sources. They seem to have no trouble using the enemy’s sources.

This will be the guy running much of the oversight on our intelligence community for the next two years. Very niiiiiiice.
Now, I WISH I could say we'd be in much better hands had the Republicans kept power, but far too many GOP politicians would flub the same question.
And if you care about the future of your country, those facts should scare the living bejezus out of you.
Get involved, folks. Please get involved. Either that, or start memorizing the Shahada. If the people running our nation can't be bothered to learn the most basic facts about the Middle East, you'll likely be needing to recite it soon enough.

THE PLACE TO START IS TO GET THESE STRANGE PEOPLE TO DEFINE “WINNINGâ€. I am stunned that the blogosphere has been so easily duped by the MSM into framing Iraq within the context of “winning†and “losingâ€. Let’s think for a minute. The objectives of the Iraq war were to topple Saddam for good, and replace him with a form of democracy that most Iraqis wanted. You’re done! Not surprisingly, the Iraqis, after having lived for almost all of their more than 5000 year history under tyranny, are stumbling a bit, but not much, as democracies go. It took the US about 200 years to truly free blacks (or perhaps, you’re not even done yet – where are the black-white love scenes in the popular media?). Canada was not even remotely a democracy until the 1920's (Universal Suffrage – except for Indians, no Bill of Rights until 1950's-60's). France returned to an Emperor in the 1880's, and democracy there still looks shaky to me. Every democracy developed very slowly, but Iraq is rocket fast. At this point, few Iraqi fighters are directly attacking the Allies – they have mainly accepted their presence, and are now attacking each other (a bit). The way to know you have WON in Iraq is when the withdrawal is ragged, loose, and ad hoc. Good parents withdraw from control of their growing children’s lives in a way that is quite ragged, loose, and ad hoc. The parent encourages self-sufficiency and independence, but freely permits back-sliding if it seems appropriate. Parents always worry about their kids, and they are always there to help until the end. The US still has troops in Germany, Japan, and South Korea (why, by the way?). The US could probably achieve their goal of not being attacked at home by Iraq-based terrorists, if they withdrew tomorrow. Iraq is not, and probably will not become a failed state. If it did, re-intervention is completely possible, and history is full of such events. Britain has re-stabilized Iraq before, and in Basra, in some cases they re-occupied buildings that they left from last time. Strangely to me, the MSM has convinced even the blogosphere that the Iraq war has to be punctuated at the end by some type of “Clear Winâ€. Why? What, exactly would that be, anyway?

I hope Stein keeps up his campaign to expose this ignorance.
My fear is that these public officials will turn to 'moderates' such as CAIR to educate themselves. They will go from being uninformed to being disinformed.

I have a simple mnemonic for this - Arabs are sunny where the sun bakes the deserts of Saudi Arabia and Persians are shitty, where the P in Perian goes with poop, linked to shitty. So there you have it, Arabs are Sunni, Persians (Iranians) are Shia.
Having said that, these two groups have been happily killing each other and carrying a grudge for 1400 plus years, this keeps them occupied and basically backward, so we should simply destroy any sides ability to make or obtain nuclear weapons and leave the rest to Allah.

Win what? America is not engaged in any war or competition with Iraq. What are you babbling about?
America and the world would be safe from Iraq based terrorists if Bush were to cut n' run tomorrow?
Are you stoned, or just stupid?

Terrapod : useful mnemonic. ..I, too, had memorized Iran=shit=shia
So, al queda is Sunni because Osama Bin Lanin came from Saudi Arabia? And the Wahhabis - from Saudi Arabia - are Sunni? And what about the Muslim Botherhood, from Egypt? And for that matter, the Nation of Islam in the United States?
And if the Kurds - a geographic distinction - are both Sunni and Shia - can it be said that the distinction is not really all that important? (the Kurds aren't fighting each other, despite their differences.)
And how is it that I - of lowly stature and influence - are more curious about all of this than our elected officials??

I would like to say you all that it is absolutely not good to insult Muslims because of Al Qaeda although are al Qaeda peoples are Muslims but all Muslims are not alqaeeda similarly like all those who crucified Jesus were Jews but all jews didn’t crucified jesus.
Whole world knows that al qaeda don’t even represent more than 1% of muslims and they also knows that they could never face if all muslims stands in the wake of their current insult. If Muslims are not responding towards any provoking insult it id only because they love peace.
Other wise history reveals that truth is with muslim and muslims are with truth and the truth is a power could not be denyied by any other power.
PEACE

7 or start memorizing the Shahada. If the people running our nation can't be bothered to learn the most basic facts about the Middle East, you'll likely be needing to recite it soon enough.
A botched war in Iraq is bad, and if the incoming leaders are no better than the outgoing leaders at understanding the underlying causes of tensions in the region then that's even worse.
But if you seriously think there is a future scenario in which islamic terrorists take over out country and force Americans to convert to Islam, you have a very low opinion of Americans.

20 al Qaeda Terrorists Killed in Iraq
[Part of an ongoing series of articles uncensored and unmediated by a hostile press. News from Iraq, as written by soldiers in the field, before the mainstream media gets hold of it.]
Coalition Forces killed 20 terrorists Friday morning while targeting al-Qaida terrorists in the Thar Thar area.

Ahhh Sweeeeet Thanks for the good news Dr. S. What a wonderful way to start the weekend.
As always hats off to the coalition troops.
Just a few days ago 80 bad guys were dispatched to h%ll in Afghanistan. It's like the Al-Qaeda/Taliban are tasting leather-and-polish in their mouths because that's how far up the coalition boots have gone, if you know what I mean....!!!!

I'm sure most people by now have read the AP article written by SAMEER N. YACOUB, on the same incident. In that article, the mayor of the village claims that 19 civilians also died, including 7 women and 8 children. The mayor's story is of course backed up by...unnamed "local police." Here's my thing, all of yesterday's Press Releases from CENTCOM carefully noted operations when there were no civilian casualties. But they did not do that this time. Does this mean CENTCOM didn't say anything because they knew there WERE civilian casualties? Without any information from CENTCOM, should we take the mayor's word? At this point I think it is justifiable to doubt AP's accuracy, but without any contrary accounts, we have nothing.

AP version: Ameican forces kill 20 Iraqi civilians. Eyewitnesses claim the unprovoked attack claimed the lives of women, children, and cute little orphan bunnies while they were praying in a mosque.
Reuters will have come up with matching photos, and MSNBC describes it as a civil war with America.

I swear to God. I wrote that last comment before I read comment number two. It just goes to show you: the AP is already more ridiculous than any farce designed to ridicule its yellow journalism.
Bohica, you do know that terrorists are civilians, right? You do know the terrorists (via their reliable AP mouthpiece,) always claim women and children were killed, right?
The boy who cried wolf was more reliable than the AP. At least he told the truth once.

Hmm. Truthy is stranger than fiction. Yes, I know that the fact that Centcom reported 20 insurgents killed and the mayor reported 19 civilians killed means that we are probably talking about the same people and not 40 people.

Have you seen or heard ANYTHING that clear and respectful to the troops on our national "news" media?
I just learned more in 13 minutes than in four years of network "news" coverage.
Keep posting these.

The ISG Recommendations: One Soldier's Response
T.F. Boggs is a twenty-four year old Army Reserve sergeant who's completed two tours in Iraq. Here's some of what the sergeant has to say to the members of the Iraq Study Group:
I thought old people were supposed to be more patient than a 24 year old but apparently I have more patience for our victory to unfold in Iraq than 99.9 percent of Americans. Iraq isn’t fast food-you can’t have what you want and have it now. To completely change a country for the first time in it’s entire history takes time, and when I say time I don’t mean 4 years.
Talking doesn’t solve anything with a crazed people, bullets do and we need to be given a chance to work our military magic. Like I told a reporter buddy of mine: War sucks but a world run by Islamofacists sucks more.
This guy makes me ashamed of what a mushhead I was at 24. Be sure to read the whole thing.

And what's this business about "talking to Iran and Syria"? Are you kidding me? The Islamic Regime of Iran and the Ba'athist regime of Syria ARE the sources of much of the problem in Iraq. In fact, I understand, that shipments of shaped charged explosives from Iran to terrorists in Iraq have been intercepted by the coalition. Bluto, in my opinion trying to cut a deal with the Mullahs of Iran and the thugs of Syria is an act of betrayal to Serg. T.F. Boggs and his brothers-in-arms.

You cannot change muslims or the countries they live in. You can only eradicate the scourge and start over.
It is in Americas best interest to eliminate all iraqi citizens and give the land to Israel to further help one of our best and most deserving allies.
