16 Gitmo Detainees Released to Saudi Arabia

(Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) According to Middle East sources, 16 detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, were sent home to Saudi Arabia yesterday. Per agreement between the U.S. and Saudi governments, the detainees would be tried under Saudi law.

So far, a total of 93 Saudi Gitmo prisoners have been released while 37 remain. The numbers don't include three Saudis that allegedly committed suicide, one hunger-striker and two hangings, which are being investigated.

Interestingly, Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki of the Interior Ministry, stated that 54 of the released detainees "have been tried and have undergone a rehabilitation program before rejoining their families."

Isn't that nice? The detainees have been rehabilitated and are back with their families.

Pardon me for being skeptical about the radical Islamist rehabilitation program.

Zogby: 42% of Democrats Want TEH TROOF about 9-11

So according to some new polling, almost half of Democrats are at the very least in the LIHOP camp (let it happen on purpose).

That's good news for the Republicans, although I know they won't exploit it and use it because they're stupid.

Also, Troofers are publicly crowing but secretly cursing that only 4.6% of respondents in a poll they commissioned are MIHOP (made it happen on purpose). For the uninitiated or apathetic, this means that the controlled-demolition, no-planes/remote-controlled planes, laser/space beam, WTC7 demolitionLOL, Bush/Cheney/Joooos-did-it crowd takes one in the chops, because they wanted a much higher number than that. Holy schneike, new bin Laden video! Could this be the 9/11 gift to Manhattan? Maybe so.

I had heard that a new bin Laden video was coming out, but frankly I thought it was just wishful thinking on the jihadis part.

Breitbart:

Terror mastermind Osama bin Laden plans a new video addressing the American people regarding the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, a terror monitoring group said Thursday.

SITE Intelligence Group said an Internet announcement of the plan included a photo of the al-Qaida leader from the upcoming video—his beard, which in previous messages had been streaked with gray, was entirely dark.

And both AllahP and The Blotter connect the video to the "special gift for Manhattan on 9/11" message.

UPDATE: Look at the two pics AllahP has up. Isn't it odd that bin Laden is wearing the same outfit? What could that mean?

Also word now that video will be released within the next 72 hours.

UPDATE: Here's a hint about the two pics: I aint the only one thinking it.

I'll even go out on a limb.

Prediction 1: Any "new" video of Osama will be him talking in generalities, conveniently wearing same clothes as previous videos, only everything looks a bit darker in it. What, you don't think al Qaeda editor at large Adam Gadahn doesn't know how to use video editing tools, which include simple color and tone "fixes"?

Prediction 2: Anything "new" that could possible serve as "proof of life" will actually be audio overlaid on to static photos of bin Laden.

Any takers? I could be wrong, but I just have this sneaking suspicion.

UPDATE: Via Gateway Pundit, this Fox News item seems to be the first to at least hint that we should be skeptical:

The official could not confirm or deny the authenticity of the images released, but he said "it's not exactly clear at this point" if the message will be authentic. The official also pointed out that previous messages were later proved to be older footage.

It's almost as if the MSM wants the video to prove once and for all that bin Laden is alive.

In my mind he's dead unless they can prove otherwise. And not with some old video and some static-laden audio.

I promised myself that I wouldn't give my 'friend' Inshallahshaheed from the Wordpress hosted al Qaeda support website The Ignored Puzzle of Knowledge any more press than he deserves. Inshallahshaheed is at the center of a network of online jihadis that include convicted terrorist Daniel Joseph Maldonado, aka Daniel al Jughaifi. Wordpress continues to host the convicted terrorist's website.

After complaining to Wordpress on dozens and dozens of occasions about Inshallahshaheed I pretty much gave up on getting them to play ball. But I also knew that Inshallahshaheed was being investigated, not by the FBI, but by other interested parties. So I stopped writing about that particular website and even discouraged others (like Weasel Zip) from writing about it. Except, of course, in passing reference.

Earlier today, though, I noted that Rabbi Abraham Cooper mentioned the website at a Simon Wiesenthal Center sponsored event. It now seems that the FBI are taking the website seriously. Finally.

Howie sends this Fox News report:

DEVELOPING STORY: Federal counterterrorism officials are analyzing a posting on an Islamic forum Web site that warns of "a special gift" to be given on the sixth anniversary of Sept. 11, FOX News has learned.

The warning was posted Sept. 2 on a site frequented by radical groups and said in part that "there will be a special gift coming on the day of the blessed invasion of Manhattan."

Federal officials told FOX News they are trying to determine if it might be a specific warning or just part of broad chatter that has been heard during the last few months.

Postings talking about "gifts" have been seen before in the days leading up to the anniversary of Sept. 11.

I can reveal that the website of interest is that of Inshallahshaheed's The Ignored Puzzle of Knowledge'. The particular post in question is simply a preview of an audio set to be released on Sept. 11.

The audio wasn't actually originally posted by inshallahshaheed, rather, he found it an an Islamist forum and then simply reposted it with commentary at his own blog. I've backed up the post, since I have a feeling it will be gone soon.

By "soon" the post simply means that the complete audio will be released, not that Manhattan will be invaded soon. The rumors are that this audio is of Osama bin Laden. I have not yet listened to it.

Update within an update: Tim from Opinion Bug finds the Google cache. Nice work Tim. Not included in the Google cached version are some of the comments, including a conversation between inshallahshaheed and a 9/11 Truther. Inshallahshaheed convincingly argues that since al Qaeda produced a video showing the "19 martyrs" and admitted to being behind the attack then of course they were behind 9/11, inshallah. See, trutherism is offensive even to jihadis.

UPDATE II: I'm listening to the audio now. Starts out with sirens, gunshots, and panicked people screaming. There is a voice over in Arabic. Very menacing. Not at all like the usual. There's shouting and screaming, and gunshots. Very different than most of these types of audios which are usually calm sermons with nasheeds (music) in the background.

No bin Laden audio, but towards the end of the audio is a nasheed praising Osama bin Laden. Then gunshots. Then it ends. Scary.

Sounds threatening to me. And considering that I monitor a lot of this stuff, if I even think its scary, then I think that's saying something. It may not be a direct specific threat about an impending attack, but it is a general threat. And it reminds us of exactly who it is we're fighting. more...

Terror in Tampa Update: Ammo Found, Charges Against CAIR?

As I've been saying for some time: there is more to this case than is being let on. The first clue was that the FBI seized a computer from the two suspects' apartment. The second clue was when they wanted DNA from the suspects, meaning that at least one of them must be implicated in some other crime.

Ahmed Mohamed also faces charges of helping terrorists by demonstrating how to use explosives. I don't think its going out on a limb to suggest that his "demonstration" was done on the internet.

This new report, which I found via Dan Riehl, also adds two items: the arresting officer grew suspicious when he the suspects threw their laptop in the back seat where there was some ammo.

Normally you'd conclude they just didn't want the officer to see the porn on their computer, but I have a gut feeling that isn't what they were hiding. The internet, foreign Muslim nationals, and ammo aren't exactly the best combination.

As Rabbi Abraham Cooper mentioned yesterday, the internet now amounts to a "virtual university of terror" saving would-be jihadists the expense of traveling to Pakistan or Afghanistan for training.

Again, as I've said before, the fact that they were in Goose Creek was probably only incidental. I now have confirmation that the two were heading somewhere else. Where that other place was, I have no idea. But they were carrying pipe bombs with them.

Probably not on their way to commit an act of terror. In fact, if my hunch is correct on this one, then they weren't planning any acts of terror here. This doesn't mean they weren't planning on helping terrorists in other parts of the world. Specifically in Diyallah province, Iraq.

I'm also told by a source close to the case that certain high placed members of the Tampa chapter of a well known Islamic "civil rights" organization could face obstruction of justice and other charges for making false statements to the grand jury. Let's put it this way: there may be a very good reason CAIR has shut up since Ahmed Bedier testified at the grand jury....

Not only does he not smell of desperate effort to be liked by the audience, he seems like he's equally happy with winning or with going home to a happy life with Jeri, the kids, and playing an authority figure in whatever upcoming television project Dick Wolf has. This does not seem like a man who will flip-flop depending on political winds; if you don't like him... he really doesn't seem to care.

Gay Pedophile Babysitters

(Northern Ireland) Two homosexual men have been convicted in Reading Crown Court of molesting a young boy, starting when he was an infant and lasting until he was four and one-half years old.

A mannequin-dresser, 34-year-old James Rae (pic) and 39-year-old Alan Howitt, a former soldier, persuaded a female friend to allow them to babysit her son. The men were found guilty of repeated sex crimes against the boy.

Judge Christopher Critchlow heard last week that Howitt and Rae, lovers for more than 10 years, repeatedly sexually abused the tot over a four-year period - simulating sex acts with him and forcing him to have oral sex while he slept.

They photographed some of the assaults and one act filmed on video was described by the judge as "about as bad an example as there could be" of an indecent attack on a child.

The pair, who have since ended their relationship, stood side-by-side in the dock to be sentenced for offences against the boy, now aged seven.

In June last year Howitt admitted possessing and making indecent images of children, and four counts of indecent assault.

Rae was convicted of the same four sexual assault charges on the boy between the age of six months and when he was four-and-a-half.

This week, Rae was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Howitt is scheduled to be sentenced on November 2nd.

Heh, contrary to frequent pronouncements that male homosexuality and pedophilia are not related, James Rae and Alan Howitt are examples that they sometimes are.

Report: al Qaeda Using Internet to Plan Terror

1) Al Qaeda is winning the internet battle and is using the internet not only for propaganda but for "command-and-control". It's true. One caveat, over the past several weeks there has been a chorus of complaints from the online jihadis that their websites are going down one by one. The lesson is that when we choose to fight, we win. The problem not that we can't win, it's that we have not yet begun to fight. To paraphrase Churchill, "Give us the tools and we will win the war."

Defeatocrats Already Spinning Petraeus Report as "Bush Report"

I believe the talking points are in and the Democrats are going to try to spin General Petraeus' report on Iraq as "The Bush Report". Washington Times:

"The Bush report?" Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin said when asked about the upcoming report from Gen. Petraeus, U.S. commander in Iraq.

"We know what is going to be in it. It's clear. I think the president's trip over to Iraq makes it very obvious," the Illinois Democrat said. "I expect the Bush report to say, 'The surge is working. Let's have more of the same.' " ....

"We will see what the Bush report will be at the end of next week," Mrs. Pelosi said. "The facts are self-evident that the progress is not being made. They might want to find one or two places where there has been progress ... but the plural of anecdote is not data."

She said Democrats were determined to uncover "the ground truth in Iraq."

Discredit the report by linking it to the Bush administration, very clever.

I think Bill Ardalino might have something to say about "the ground truth", Mrs. Pelosi.

Hence, all the Divx and Liveleak videos, that the university software simply doesn't pick up as high usage sites.

But, after watching it, let me just say that Mary Kate was most gracious in the shout out. Update from Fallujah: The Surge is Working!

Longtime friend Bill Ardalino has made it to Fallujah and he likes what he sees. The last time he was in Fallujah I had a couple of online chats with him, the majority of the which I seem to recall were him asking, "do you want to get me f*cking killed"? That was just this January, now he reports a sea change on the ground. Here it is:

[A] quick teaser: the positive change in Fallujah since my January visit is astounding.

I've attended a Fallujah City Council meeting, a recruiting day for the "Fallujah Protectors" (neighborhood watch), the establishment of the city's last police precinct and a meeting of "muktars," traditional cultural leaders of specific neighborhoods who work with Marines to improve infrastructure. Tomorrow, my CAG unit will distribute food bags downtown. Almost none of this access or interaction was possible in January, and the cooperation with American personnel is widespread and animated.

The surreality of the change can be summed up by this afternoon.

US Companies Helping Palestinian Islamic Jihad

At least three U.S. companies are helping the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) spread its message. The PIJ is a violent offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood and shares the same longer terms goals as al Qaeda. The shorter term goal of PIJ is the destruction of the state of Israel and the establishment of sharia (Islamic) law. The PIJ is known to intentionally target and kill civilians, including Israeli children.

PIJ has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and the leaders of PIJ Specially Designate Nationals by the U.S. State Department. Under U.S. law it is illegal to provide business services, even free ones, to terrorists such as the PIJ.
