Troofers Prepare to Hype Their Bullsh*t on Graves of 9-11 Victims

So instead of remembering the events of 9-11-01 in a respectful and dignified manner, and redoubling our efforts to ensure it never happens again, we are instead to be treated to a stream of deranged children, aging hippies and mentally-unstable lunatics trying to muscle their way onto television screens to give the impression that there are more of them than there really are.

Here's an "action plan" from Alex Jones that includes crashing a series of MSM broadcasts around the city. They're numbered in the order in which they happen, so that you will see a gaggle of Troofer morons on every channel.

troof1.jpg

Clever, huh? Dishonest, shifty, and effective. That's Trooferism - playing on the relative apathy and disinterest of an unsuspecting public to bowl them over with hyperbole, screaming lies through bullhorns, and media whoring. Of course, the reality is that there's a roving band of morons that will be traveling around looking for things to do, and the more disrespectful to the victims of 9-11, the better.

Microsoft and Apple Pushing Hard to Pass Patent Overhaul Bill

It's a little bit outside of our regular subject matter, but those of you in tech businesses may be interested in knowing that the patent system we've had for 50 years may soon come to an end. Via Forbes:

Despite worries that lawmakers still don't have the depth of knowledge on this complex issue to understand its implications, the House of Representatives is expected to pass a controversial and complex bill on Friday that would set the stage for the broadest overhaul of the U.S. patent system in more than 50 years.

"We'd like to see more debate, more hearings, more negotiation," says Marc-Anthony Signorino, director of technology policy for the National Association of Manufacturers, one of the country's largest industry groups. "Even a brain surgeon needs to be trained for a while to understand how the brain works."

As expected, the patent overhaul passed the House and now moves to consideration by the Senate. This overhaul is happening largely thanks to heavy lobbying by Microsoft, Apple and Dell, which see light at the end of the patent tunnel:
"This issue has been considered in three different Congresses," says Steve Elmendorf, spokesman for the pro-reform coalition that counts Microsoft (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people ), Dell (nasdaq: DELL - news - people ) and Apple (nasdaq: AAPL - news - people ) among its members. He notes that there have been numerous hearings and stakeholder meetings on the subject. Regarding lawmakers' grasp of the subject, he says, "That's a lot of what Congress does. They deal with complicated issues every day."
And that, folks, is the amazing thing about Congress. They often deal with complicated issues on fast-track time tables, and they sometimes get it partly right. Amazing...

MoveOn.org to Smear Gen. Petraeus in NYT

General 'Betray Us?'

Are you Moron.orgers in third grade?

On Monday, the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org, is set to publish an ad in the New York Times that claims Petraeus is not giving an objective, independent view of the situation on the ground. The ad says 'General Petraeus or General Betray us? Cooking the books for the White House."
Don't question their patriotism! They support the troops, until they talk.

Of course, the Democrats voted unanimously to approve Petraeus, indicating that the only idiots politicizing a report they haven't read but fear will make their political position look weaker are Democrats.

All from a gaggle of sanctimonious leftwing jackasses sitting on their fat behinds in their air-conditioned offices.

Human Rights Org. in Egypt Shut on Bogus Charges

Yet another lovely US ally, its Egypt today. To follow is a Press Release from the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information , known as HRInfo, quite an important portal in the region which has a substantial and informative English page.

What happened is the Egyptian Association of Human Rights and Legal Aid (AHRLA) publicly exposed the state's torture of prisoners (and its not blasting Madonna at them, its real torture). AHRLA got shut down on bogus charges, and civil society organizations decided to demonstrate in a show of support. HRInfo will share their offices with AHRLA so they can keep operating.

Press Release: Representatives of Human rights organization in Egypt decided to fight back against these flagrant police practices by using all the available legitimate measures e.g. labor strike, demonstrations, closing-down their websites and exposing the practices of the Egyptian government before international organizations and regional unions... The Egyptian government instead of working to improve its human rights records has shown a relentless desire to silence one of the most outspoken voices against these practices which are rife under the emergency laws and include unfair trails and gagged press.

Read the whole thing and check out the list of signatories.

I guess all these thug regimes deploy the same practices to hide their crimes from their own people and the international community.

Torture in Egypt is a widespread and brutal policy. From the website:

The previous weeks have witnessed an escalation of police brutality and torture in a number of police stations, known for their long record of breaking the law, torture and violation of human rights of citizens. The situation this time was characterized by heavy presence of police sergeants who seem to be competing with their seniors in the infliction of torture, as if promotion within the Ministry of Interior has become dependent on the number of citizens they kill under torture....

Some of those examples include Ahmed Badie Khafaga (May 2007, Damanhour police station), Saad Risk Allah Khalil (May 2007, Abou Hommos police station) and Tarek Foutouh El Imam (May 2005, Port Said police station) who the police claims have hanged themselves in their prison cells. It is noteworthy that Tarek had completed his prison sentence and had called his family, one day before his death, reminding them of his discharge from prison after 48 hours.

During this epidemic of death under torture, sergeants at Al Omraneyya police station psyched Nasser Sedik Gadallah from the third floor of his house. His wife and children watched as their father was thrown from the window, head down, which resulted in his immediate death. The same scenario happened before in March 2007 with Mohamed Nabawi Abdel Hafiz who was also thrown out of the window at Osim police station. The police claimed he had committed suicide.

Its a lengthy and disturbing statement that details a number of children killed in police custody and prisoners set on fire.

Update: Key witness in Nour case found hanged in his cell.

"I confessed to forgery under pressure from officers from state security," Hassan told reporters on June 30, 2005, after his lawyer told the court he had changed his plea to not guilty.

The court disregarded his retraction and went on to sentence both Ayman Nour and Ayman Hassan to five years in prison. Nour, who came a distant second to President Hosni Mubarak in Egypt's first multi-candidate presidential elections in September 2005, says the authorities fabricated the case against him to exclude him from politics. The charge against Nour was that the endorsements he submitted to the authorities when he set up his liberal Ghad (Tomorrow) Party in 2004 contained forged signatures.

Alex Jones Arrested (Released, Blames NWO...)

The leather-lunged, bull-horn wielding nutbar Twoofer king himself was arrested outside Fox News today for disrupting a Geraldo broadcast. No - he didn't spit on them:

During the program which was being broadcast outdoors, Rivera first told the protesters to "get a life" when they first began assembling behind him during his show. Later on in the show Rivera referred to the group of protesters that organized behind him as an anarchist group and even referenced the Jones arrest live on air. Jones could be heard prior to his arrest on the live Fox News broadcast shouting through a bullhorn saying "9/11 was an inside job" with the rest of the protesters. No word on if that's why he was arrested, but since New York City requires a permit to use a bullhorn that is a likely scenario.

Bin Laden, or Keith Olbermann?

Dude's got a point. What do you think, lefties?

Here's a mash-up of Olbermann's rhetoric (excerpts from his broadcasts) and Bin Laden's rhetoric (read from the transcript).
What do you think, Olby? You and Bin Laden are on the exact same script. That qualifies you, I think, as the WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD.

Al Qaeda Sweeps Week: Three Major Videos Released

Laura Mansfield notes that al Qaeda's as Sahab media has released three major English language videos this week. In addition to the better known Osama bin Laden video, earlier this week Winds of Martyrs, Part 1 was released with a voiceover from American Adam Gadahn. As Sahab is set to release a third English subtitled video, probably this weekend, of Abu Yahya al Libi, who behind Ayman al Zawahiri has become al Qaeda's most popular spokesman.

The three releases could mean nothing, could be a sign of an impending attack, or could mean that since al Qaeda is incapable of launching a major attack that they are relegated to making silly videos. And since we don't know, take this as a sign of nothing.

Message to Adam Gadahn: You're still on my personal vendetta list. Watch. Your. Back. And if you're so brave, how come the Z man has you on typing duty? Why aren't you out there with the real mujahideen. Coward.

State Department Comments on Al-Khaiwani Kidnapping

We've been following the case of outspoken Yemeni journalist Abdulkarim al-Khawani for several weeks. After a politicized terrorism charge was thrown at him, Al-Khaiwani was then kidnapped, beaten, threatened and had his fingers broken. He recognized one of the kidnappers as one of the security officials who had previously arrested him. The kidnapping was apparently triggered by an article he wrote detailing the conditions in Yemeni prisons. The good news today is that the US issued a statement from DC noting a disturbing trend in Yemen targeting journalists and naming al-Khawani specifically. So thats a boost for the good guys.

The State Department

Press Statement
Tom Casey, Deputy Spokesman
Washington, DC
September 7, 2007

Yemeni Journalists Abducted

The recent abduction of independent Yemeni journalist Abdulkarim Al-Khaiwani points to a disturbing trend of intimidation and harassment of Yemen's journalist community. Freedom of the press and freedom of expression are cornerstones of democracy, and a plurality of voices strengthens democratic societies.

The United States urges the government of Yemen to take steps to protect all journalists from becoming victims of violence and intimidation. We further call on the government of Yemen to fully investigate this most recent abduction, as well as past abductions of journalists in Yemen, and to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.

21 Executed After HR Meeting in Tehran

Press Release from Eye on the UN:

NEW YORK—EYEontheUN Editor Anne Bayefsky announced today that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Louise Arbour, attended a human rights meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), chaired by Cuba, in Tehran. The meeting was held to redefine and relativize human rights in accordance with “cultural diversity.” The Iranian concept of cultural diversity is last month’s stoning of a man for allegedly committing adultery and the hanging of corpses (recent victims of mass executions) from cranes placed in public squares.

While Arbour sat in the front row listening to Ahmadinejad, some Iranians were being made ready to be publicly hanged—21 prisoners were executed the next day.

Hayden: Sources Clammed Up After Media Reports

CIA director Gen. Michael Hayden said today that less than 100 prisoners have been held in secret detention. He said a few other things too.

Yahoo: He said Friday that such leaks to news organizations harm national security. Hayden said that in one case, news leaks gave a foreign government information that allowed it to prosecute and jail one of the CIA's sources.

"The revelations had an immediate, chilling effect on our ability to collect against a top-priority target," he said.

Hayden said other media reports "cost us several promising counterterrorism and counterproliferation assets" because CIA sources stopped cooperating out of fear they would be exposed.

He said "more than one" foreign government's intelligence services have withheld intelligence that they otherwise would have shared with the U.S. government because they feared it would be leaked. "That gap in information puts Americans at risk," Hayden said, according to the written remarks.

The fourth estate becomes a third column.

Black Beard and Jihad

Ahoy maties!

Robert of Jihad Watch explains Black Beard:

The Shafi'i school of Islamic jurisprudence forbids men and women to dye their hair black "except when the intention is jihad...as a show of strength to unbelievers" ('Umdat al-Salik e.4.4)...

Some scholars, on the other hand, do not consider the use of black dye as permissible except during time of war, when the enemy might be impressed by the fact that all the soldiers of the Muslim army look young."

I am not impressed. I think it makes him look like an aging lounge lizard. But the belligerent overtones should not be overlooked.

More at the post and, in the comments, this: Abu Dharr narrated the hadith, The best thing with which to dye gray hair is henna and katm. (Mentioned in Fath al-Bari.) Henna makes the hair red, while katm, a plant from Yemen, colors it black tinged with red.

Thus the black beard dye from Yemen coordinates nicely with UBL's traditional Yemeni outfit. Tim Gunn would approve.

Arrrr!!!

Aye scallywags, rascals and infidels, its almost Talk Like a Pirate Day. However you commie bastards, its not yet Talk like Jack Bauer Day.In case you need help, the website has A FEW TIPS DAMMIT!!!!!

UBL Video Intercepted! UPDATE: bin Laden Praises Chomsky/Left/Antiwar Voters!

as_sahab_bin_laden_911_2007.gif

This just in. MSNBC:

The White House has obtained a copy of a purported video by Osama bin Laden ahead of the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks and has begun to analyze its contents, a Bush administration official said Friday.

The official would not discuss the contents or say whether any conclusion has been reached about whether it’s really the al-Qaida leader.

The world holds its breath.......

UPDATE: Proof of life? The Blotter:

Intelligence sources tell ABC News they believe the expected video message from Osama bin Laden is authentic, recently produced and evidence the al Qaeda leader is still alive.

U.S. authorities now say they have a transcript which they say is aimed at potential suicide bombers who he urges to carry out missions against the West

AllahP has some interesting photoshops of bin Laden.

UPDATE: AllahP just e-mailed the news that we already have transcripts of the new bin Laden video. I'm stunned. It's going to take me some time digesting all of this.

Here's the immediately funny part: bin Laden praises Noam Chomsky:

He goes on to call Noam Chomsky "among one of the most capable of those from your own side," and mentions global warming and "the Kyoto accord."
And why not? They both share the common goal of getting the U.S. to stop meddling in the affairs of the world so that bin Laden and other Islamists can step in and impose sharia.

I'm just surprised he doesn't mention Ron Paul.

He also praises the American public for voting for Democrats, and then castigates the Democrats for not surrendering as fast as the American people wanted them too.

With words like this, even I might have to question the timing.

PS--the way I read it, it's an audio message, not video.

UPDATE: Jeff G questions the timing:

Having the world’s number 2 terrorist (just behind George Bush) come out and berate you for not following through with your promises to do his organization’s bidding — well, that can be a bit of a bummer, I imagine.
UPDATE: Amazing-- the transcript is dated September 5th, two days ago.

UPDATE: Man the thing reads like it was written by Cindy Sheehan. Notable quotables (updated as I'm reading them):

People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of the tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they agree to spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and the war there, which has led to the vast majority of you being afflicted with disappointment...

In the Vietnam War, the leaders of the White House claimed at the time that it was necessary and crucial war, and during it, Rumsfeld and his aides murdered two million villagers. And when Kennedy took over the presidency and deviated from the general line of policy drawn uup for the White House and wanted to stop the unjust war, that angered the owners of the major corporations who were benefiting from its continuation.

And so Kennedy was killed, and al Qaeda wasn't present at that time, but rather, those corporations were the primary beneficiary from his killing...

This war was entirely unnecessary, as testified by your own reports. And among the most capable of those from your own side who speaks to you on this topic and on the manufacturin of public opinion is Noam Chomsky, who spoke sober words of advice prior to the war, but the leader of Texas doesn't like those who give advice....

The entire world came out in uprecedented demonstrations to warn against waging the war and describe its true nature in eloquent terms like "no spilling red blood for black oil," yet he paid them no heed....

So in answer to the question about the causes of the Democrats' failure to stop the war, I say: they are the same reasons which led to the failure of former president Kennedy to stop the Vietnam war. Those with real power and influence are those with the most capital. And since the democratic system permits major corporations to back candidates, be they presidential or congressional, there shouldn't be any cause for astonishment -- and there isn't any -- in the Democrats' failure to stop the war. And you're the ones who have the saying which goes, "money talks." And I tell you: after the failure of your representatives in the Democratic Party to implement your desire to stop the war, you canstill carry anti-war placards and spread out in the streets of major cities, then go back to your homes, but that will be on no use and will lead to the prolonging of the war....

In fact, the life of all mankind is in danger because of the global warming resulting to a large degree from teh emissions of the factories and of teh major corporations, yet despite that the representative of these corporations in the White House insists on not observing the Kyoto accord, with the knowledge that the statics speaks of teh death and displacement of the millions of human beings because of that, especially in Africa. This greatest of plagues and most dangerous of threats to the lives of humans is taking place in an accelerating fashion as the world is being dominated by the democratic system, which confirms its massive failure to protect humans and their itnerests from the greed and avarice of the major corporations and their representatives....

The capitalist system seeks to turn the entire world into a fiefdom of the major corporations under the label of "globallization" in order to protect democracy....

And if you would like to get to know some of the reasons for your losing of your war against us, then read the book of Michael Scheuer in this regard.

So, bin Laden really does read and believe Leftist propaganda! It's like reading a Kos diary or a Democratic Underground thread. AllahP has the exact same reaction: Bin Laden, Socialist Icon.

STACLU has blog reactions.

Update: Entire Video: Osama bin Laden 2007 Speech here.

Christian Militants Behead Two Prostitutes

I just love that story in the Bible about how Jesus chopped off that one whore's neck.

ME Times:

Suspected Islamic militants beheaded two women accused of prostitution in northwestern Pakistan, police said Friday, in the latest case of Taliban-style justice in the region....

A note left with the corpses accused the women of being involved in prostitution with the support of local officials, and warned others like them that they would be punished in the same way, Khattak said....

The bodies of the women, who were identified only as Maino and Malaki, have been handed over to their relatives, he added.

In March, pro-Taliban extremists stoned and then shot dead two men and a woman for alleged adultery in front of a crowd of hundreds of people in the remote Khyber tribal area.

Two lovers were tied to trees and stoned to death by angry relatives in central Punjab province in January, in a so-called "honor killing" because of their allegedly immoral activities.

Jesus wept.* more...

Wired on Fred Thompson

Wired has a great article on how technologically savvy Fred Thompson is:

[Thompson's] tech acumen showed up again last week when -- after months in an unofficial shadow campaign -- Thompson announced he would kick off his official run for the White House with a webcast this Thursday. "By announcing via webcast, Fred is able to take his consistently mainstream conservative message directly to the voters who are already responding to that message with a strong upwelling of grassroots support," Bill Lacy, Thompson's campaign manager, said in a statement....

Thompson's highest-profile tech legacy in his congressional record is the establishment of an information-sharing and security infrastructure across the federal government. Thompson was the prime Senate sponsor of a bill called GISRA (Government Information Security Act), signed into law in 2000. It forced government agencies to conduct annual security audits and report the -- usually embarrassing -- bottom line results to the public.
