I always dig it when people misunderstand Huntington's Clash of Civilizations hypothesis. People often believe that Huntington--and now the neocons--want a Clash of Civilizations. That this clash is their goal. In fact, Huntington and others are not arguing that a Clash of Civilizations should happen, but that it is happening.

An amazingly honest response from a leading Islamist in Norway continued below. Agora:

While the US and their allies are becoming smaller, Islam is expanding the front. And the reports from Guantanamo tell the same story. There they try to rip the faith our of the Moslems’ hearts. They fail. In Denmark they printed those cartoons, but the result is that the backing for Islam increases. I and all Moslems are proof of this. You haven’t managed to change us. We are the ones who will change you.â€Wake. Up. People.

Here we see some more of that great islamic strategic thinking. Yes muslims are breeding like mosquitoes in Europe, but they're churning out offspring whose only skills are killing, raping, burning, intimidation and perhaps spewing memorized koran passages. Hardly the best materials to use to build a world dominating caliphate that's supposed last more than 2 hours.

I am becoming increaseingly pessimistic about Europe's future. If things keep going the way they are now, with a rapidly growing and completely unintegrated muslim population, there will be a tipping point when the Muslim population of European countries will reach the point of no return. A consequnce will be civil war when the Muslim population starts to assert control and impose Sharia.

Didn't Bin Laden already have his own country (granted he was only renting)? Wasn't it called Afghanistan? Look at the shining example of prosperity and freedom that turned out to be. Look at what happened when Zarqawi got control of Fallujah. Islam shouldn't be used to run anything larger than a falafel stand.

Tim is right. The demographics means this clash will turn into an actual shooting war on the European continent within our lifetimes.

There will be no war in Europe. If the Europeans had the will to resist, they would do it now, while the numbers are in their favor. Do you think they will somehow decide in the future to resist, when the numbers will be perhaps 50-50? I think not.

Kimberly, the problem is not Mecca but the people of Europe. If they had the will to survive they would kick the whole bunch out, forthwith. The problem is that they believe in nothing but having a good time, and why would you risk your life for that? The US is riding along the same road.

I think they see it, but all the touchy-feelie, multi-culti talk going on while they see with their own eyes that there are some in their midst who do not have the tolerance they themselves are taught has created a cognitive dissonance of immense proportions. It leaves them frozen in their tracks not knowing what to do about it or even if they should.

The EU would be wise to pay their muslims to migrate to Norway on condition they can't return. Norway needs and deserves another 5-10 million muslims. Let the islamists eat fish in Norway and be happy. "Let them eat fish in Norway" - what a rallying cry for Europeans to rid themselves of their plague. "A burqa on every blond head" - that could be the mantra of migrating muslims. If somebody has to suffer, it may as well be the Norwegians. Pacify them with fish! Free fish, a free house, a free education, free medical care and a free blond to give you children. That should hold 'em back for a few generations.

I'm afraid the Muslim hypothesis is quite correct, thus far. The West has no actual ideals that it insists on imposing onto the barbaric cultures of the middle east. Sure, we have an abundance of bombs, guns, planes, tanks and skilled soldiers who can accomplish what we tell them to, but that does not win a war.
What wins a war, especially this kind of war, is a clearcut ideological position. "Democracy" (especially of the absurd, unlimited kind that is being perpetuated right now as the Iraqis and Afghanis decide how best to slip back into theocracy) is not an ideology, contrary to socialist/Wilsonian idiots' claims. Who, in any situation, would die for a vote in a democracy? Minus all the rights and protections to the individual we enjoy here, a democracy is just another form of dictatorship - and a shifting, shakey form at that.
Yes, our troops will trounce the Islamists whereever they meet. Thats not the point. The point is that we either have to convert the Muslim population into something less insane or kill them all. The will to do the latter doesn't exist, and the ideology to do the former is likewise lacking.
Until an actual ideologue who is willing to say "Our culture is better in all objective terms than that of the Islamists': in addition, Islamist culture is a clear threat to the United States. So we're going to have to change them, whether they like it or not," the United States will not - and can not - win the war on terrorism.
In any conflict between two sides, the most ideologically pure wins out over the long term. You've seen it for almost a century as communists kept rising to power when opposed only by mixed-government socialists and sundry defenders of "Capitalism" who seethed and cowered in fear of any socialist proclaiming a crusade for 'social justice.' Now you will see the rise of Islamic Rule in at least half the population of the world, for the exact same reason.
America will grow a backbone, an ideologically pure one, or it will fall, not in a nuclear holocaust with millions killed, to a giant enemy with a huge military, but to a cockroach that we willingly bowed to, for fear of being thought of as intolerant.

Hey, The West tries every dirty trick in the book...Why??? because we can talk about it all we want but the truth is that people are converting to Islam, believe it or not because it actally does provide solice to many. can,t explain it any other way. So if we want to reverse this...we have to do everything that we are not doing.... Actually be honest. words are just words. Because the west does not believe in fellow man. It believes in the DOLLAR God.

Abbs, yes, some people are converting to Islam even in America. But here's the clincher: They still go to football games, they use credit cards and do fifty other things regularly that Muslims are forbidden to do in the Middle East. Why, they even fly kites! It's a westernized version and they're not carrying signs down Main Sreet demanding the death of anyone. They're still freedom loving Americans.
Now this does not account for the thugs and thieves being converted in the prisons, mind you. That's another story.
I read somewhere a few weeks ago that in Russia they're converting back to Christianity 7 times faster than anyone is converting to Islam.
