Update: By golly Centcom’s translation is a bit off. It seems Zawahiri has found Jesus! Finally a radical Muslim actually listens to what Jesus says, rather than just pay him lip service as “A minor prophet who failed for want of the sword.”

Via Centcom: Ayman al-Zawahiri, second-in-command of Al-Qa'ida organization, said that plots are being hatched to abort the concept of jihad in the Palestinian territories. In a new videotape, he stressed that the elections in the Palestinian areas will not lead to the liberation of these areas.

Excerpt #1:

[Begin Al-Zawahiri video recording] Any path other than the path of jihad will not lead us to anything but to waste and loss. Those trying to liberate the Muslim land through elections based on secular constitutions or on the [UN] resolutions handing over Palestine to the Jews, will not liberate a grain of the soil of Palestine. In fact, their efforts will lead to strangling the jihad and besieging the mujahidin. Retreating before the West will not make them feel satisfied with us, no matter how skillful we might be in maneuvering, tactics, and dialogue.

[Begin Al-Zawahiri recording] They cannot imagine the Muslims establishing a government in Palestine or elsewhere that is based on anything but the Shari'ah and whose terms of reference are anything but the Shari'ah. The second fact is that every Muslim is duty-bound to regain any land that was a land of Islam. Therefore, we as Muslims cannot concede to Israel a single inch of Palestine. As far as we are concerned, there is no difference between the 1948 Palestine and the 1967 Palestine. It is all Palestine, and it all belongs to the Muslims. All the UN resolutions that have taken parts of it, and recognized Israel's presence on it, starting with the partition resolution to Resolution 1701 are all null and void, and, in the balance of Islam, are worthless. We should reject, renounce, and fight these resolutions. We should not take hesitant positions toward these resolutions by saying that we will respect and acknowledge them as a fact of life, and other such statements that would squander the Muslim's rights. Recognizing these resolutions implies the recognition of the Hebrew state. [End recording]
