Yahoo! Hosting Terrorist Websites

UPDATE: 6/20/2007 AM: The websites of The Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance (JAMI or JAAMI) and The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Iraq al Fatih al Islamy Brigades (Hamas in Iraq) are down.

We'd like to thank Yahoo! for taking these websites offline and the Jawa readers for making sure Yahoo got the message. Oh, and we have a little message of our own for the goons at JAMI and Hamas in Iraq below.

Yahoo, the Sunnyvale, California headquarterd company continues to host the official website of The Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance (Al-Jabhah al-Islamiyah al-Muqawamah al-Iraqiyah), a terrorist organization better known by its acronym JAMI [also JAAMI], and it's military wing, the Salah al-Din (Saladin) Brigades. JAMI is a well known Sunni Arab nationalist terror organization which routinely posts videos of American troops being killed by its members.

JAMI is perhaps most notorious for its claim that it has used WMD against U.S forces. Below is an image taken from a JAMI produced video released January 9th, 2007, showing the assembly and launching of "4 missiles loaded with chemical weapons" against U.S. positions in Samara, Iraq.

The website can be found here and is hosted on Yahoo! webservers. It is registered to a DNS masking service which maintains a P.O. Box in EmeryVille, CA. That domain name, "myprivateregistration.com", is actually owned by an Australian internet company, Melbourne IT.

By providing business services to JAMI, Yahoo! and Melbourne IT are assisting a terrorist organization in the killing of U.S. and Australian troops in Iraq. As the 'insurgents' themselves have noted on so many occasions, websites like the one hosted by Yahoo! are used to spread propaganda aimed at fueling the insurgency, recruiting new blood into the ranks of the organization, coordinating attacks, and raising funds.

While not officially on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations yet, by providing services essential the JAMI 'insurgents', Yahoo! and Melbourne IT have opened themselves up to legal action by relatives of Coalition servicemen and women killed in Iraq. For instance, here is an image from a recently released JAMI video being distributed from a Yahoo! server. It shows the result of a JAMI missile attack on a U.S. base

Any family of American forces killed in the incident would have grounds to sue Yahoo! for aiding JAMI in the wrongful death of their loved one. It could also be argued that by aiding and abetting the enemies of the United States during an armed conflict, that Yahoo! is committing an act of treason. If our courts and law can give legal rights to corporations, I see no problem in prosecuting them for the same crimes committed by individuals.

Yahoo! also hosts the website of a related group, The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Iraq al Fatih al Islamy Brigades, better known as simply Hamas in Iraq. The group is not related to the much better known Hamas in the Palestinian territories, but is an offshoot of JAMI. Their website is here.

Here is an image from Hamas in Iraq's website which claims to be of a burning American vehicle destroyed by a Hamas IED, which they claim killed or wounded at least five Americans near Samarra.

Yahoo! has been notified on more than one occasion that they are hosting these terrorist websites, but has failed to remove them. You can put pressure on Yahoo! by writing them here: network-abuse@cc.yahoo-inc.com

Melbourne IT can be reaced via their online contact form here.

Please mention the urls of the two offending websites when you contact them:

5  "Your countrymen"?, it is sad that does not mean much anymore.  Like teammate, buddy, best friend,  husband, wife, daughter, son, brother, sister, soldier, citizen. When does it end?

6 Howie,

When the libs can remake this great nation into the communist paradise that they believe is their right to make it. Of course then it will be a stinking hellhole that even they cant stand to live in but thats besides the point.
