World Healing Day

Although it appears that Yusuf Islam, aka Cat Stevens, jumped clean off the peace train, other aging rockers have not.

Beatle John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, has called for December 8, the anniversary of Lennon's death, to be observed as a day of worldwide healing.

According to Ono, the day of healing is "the day to ask for forgiveness from those who suffered the insufferable."

Uh ... does anyone know what the hell that means?

Uh ... does anyone know what the hell that means?

I know, i know. It refers to anyone who has ever listened to her sing.

2 Yoko Ono is a money hungry, two faced leader of the gullible. Dec 8 should be celebrated as the day one less hippy walked the earth.

3 Sounds like a Lefty blame whitey day.  You can count me out.

4 OT: Attention Xmas shoppers:  don't forget to stop  by the mens furnishing dept.  and check out our specials on Isotoner gloves. After all, they  ARE O.J.'s favorites. O.J. sez, " I always  wear my Isotoners when I'm committing a homocide." " No matter how bloody or covered with gore they get, they still feel  comfortable and look stylish."

While supplies last.

5 forgiveness from those who suffered the insufferable?...oh, brother.

why is Yoko Ono, or Jesse Jackson for that matter, still given media ink?? We're as bad as the French, still listening to Johnny Holliday - another mystery.

6 I think it means blame ourselves for the crimes of others. It's the left's mantra, especially concerning evil Whitey.

7 I would agree that now she must be sorry for breaking up the Beatles and her awful singing.  She has much to be sorry for.

9 I think it might be mean something like that christian  "Lord's Prayer".
Since it was removed from the schools it seems to have been forgotten.

10 John Lyin:

Christians don't blame themselves for the crimes of others.

Leftists blame others for the crimes oof themselves.

You eat shit for a living. How does it taste?

11 The beatles went over the deep end when they went and got hooked up with those crazy gurus and their wacky ideas

12 John ryan,

from the Lord's prayer:  "And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us."  Notice it's a two-way street.  I doubt that's what Yoko (because she's a Leftist) had in mind.

13 World wide healing, eh?

Has she been hanging out with Nancy?

Nancy Pelosi (Nov. 16th):  "As I said to my colleagues, as we say
in church, let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with us. Let
the healing begin."

I threw up a little in my mouth.  She thinks maybe this will erase
her harpy image she worked so hard to cultivate for the last six years?

I will begin to heal as soon as I'm not subjected to any more drivel from either woman.

14 As an amateur wordsmith, I got hung up on the phrase "suffered the insufferable." I'd contend that if something were insufferable, no amount of suffering would get a person through it. Therefore, nobody could suffer the insufferable and Ono's definition of healing resorts to asking forgiveness from nobody.

I pity the gullible souls who will join in the day of healing campaign. They have been given scant guidance.

For the sake of argument, assume the day of healing occurs with 100% participation and much fanfare. Would anything be different after it's over?

15 Healing schmealing.  How much money do we have to pay them is what I'd like to know.

Posted by: Jesusland Carlos at November 28, 2006 10:03 AM (yJKSD)

16 Just say a prayer and ask for forgiveness.  If your not religious, just keep the suffering in your good thoughts, and do what you can to relive the suffering of someone you run across.

That's not to hard to grasp, is it? It may do some good. It sure won't do any harm.

17 No fear,

christians and jews already regularly ask for forgiveness and atonement.  World Healing Day just sounds like an atheist substitute of the real thing.

19 A day of healing. Who would it benefit?

I'm for a little healing around here. I think some of the threads have reached to extreme of a level of drama.

I am asking for a temporary cease fire regarding terms like 'lefturd', and 'reichwinger'. I am asking if we can put aside name calling, and cheap shots? Why not? I'ts not like I don't have a couple people here I wouldn't mind seeing recieve a cream pie in the face, but I'm willing to try and get over it for the Christmas (and other) holiday season.

If only among ourselves, lets try for the season, to stop making personal attacks. Lets argue over only the substance of a rival's post, and not who the posting party is.

It may be that some of us live only to squish our rival contributor. I would ask you to give it a rest.

It doesn't have to be some fake kind of thing where Greyrooster suddenly comes out and says he actually respects PuddleDuck. No one would believe that. Just avoid the obvious disrespect.

It goes all around. Do the people posting here represent the best? I extend a friendly challenge. Left, Right, whatever. Be polite when posting, for the season.

That just leaves the stupid 'ppornotoy ads' to deal with, but those aare pretty obviously worthles, and easily skipped.

So I hope I don't sound to sappy, but can we do this? Shall we try?

Merry Christmas, and goodwill, from me to you.
USA all the way!
