What We See, Ain't Necessarily What They See

Bernard Lewis has an excellent column in today's Opinion Journal. I encourage you to read it all.

Here's a taste:

We in the Western world see the defeat and collapse of the Soviet Union as a Western, more specifically an American, victory in the Cold War. For Osama bin Laden and his followers, it was a Muslim victory in a jihad, and, given the circumstances, this perception does not lack plausibility.

2 If you have not read a Lewis book I would highly recommend them as he possesses great insight into the Islamic religion/gov/social system/cult.
