Perhaps the events are more than the troops can bear at one time per casualty.
Perhaps the Army is facing a larger casualty list to come for some unknown reason and are trimming back.
Perhaps the Army feels it's more important to spend time training not to die and to win than to show honors for every individual troop who is KIA
Question the effects on morale if every individual troop KIA in WW2 was honored in this fashion.

I guess the soldiers' untimely deaths could not be fit into the schedule. The reasons the above commenter gave were not the reasons provided in the announcement. A real morale booster.

Teh Stoopid is spreading. I need a mask before I catch it too. BTW, Fox has picked up on that camp in Red House Va where the black muslimes are holed up. I found a sattelite shot where I can zoom in on Sheik Galiani Lane. There are no discernable structures from the air. None. What does that mean? I don't know but to be sure I had the right picture I did a search at three different sites. Google, Yahoo, and Terra something. All three took me to the same place.

While I believe each soldier needs a memorial service, I also believe they get one, back home. Could you imagine if a unit held a memoral service for every single soldier killed during World War II? They would never get anything done because they would be spending all day in memorial services. Besides, it can have a negative psychological impact on the troops if they are going to another memorial day after day after day.
We are getting ready to witness the highest level of action since the initial invasion with what should be unfolding soon in Diyala province. That is going to be a huge, fast-paced battle that will take months. I don't think we are going to have time to stand everyone down attend memorials every other day.

HOWEVER, news reports today have them as "re-considering" their decision.

Thankfully our men and women are not getting killed in the numbers as they were during WW2. I see no reason why the military cannot continue to be more personal in their expression of sorrow for having lost another of ours to the enemy. Especially when they have a knack for allowing the same mistakes to happen repeatedly.
Thank God we are finally getting the people who were fighting us to see we are the answer and not AQ.
