"They can have very simply conversations, like: 'Who am I? Where am I going?"'

- Liu Yang, a government official in charge of educating the Chinese public on proper usage of the English language, explaining that many Chinese are quite limited in their ability to speak and understand proper English.

Mr. Yang explained his corrective efforts as follows: "In the future when we set up new signs in public places in English, we hope all these standards will be followed to avoid more additional mistakes."

5 My point in posting that link (China overtakes U.S. in exports:
Asian nation set to become world’s biggest exporter by 2008
) is we are losing our economic a$$es to the COMMUNISTS faster than you can say "clear and present danger" or how about "the greatest threat to our way of life"? Someone please point me to a blog that isn't liberal and does deal with China? Go ahead and google it - here's some choice excerpts: "The China Threat. Is it real, and if so what is it?" or "Two reasons China isn't a threat. China's ownership of our currency means they have ... " can't wait to tattoo that last one on my forehead. Better start brushing up on your Cantonese my fellow Jawas after spending all our money in the deserts of the world we'll find our new boss back home doesn't speaka the English so good.

7 Tbone: You know nothing. We are losing our exports advantage to Capitalist in China. Capitalist's that are pardnered with companies like Wal-Mart. Did you know that in China all Wal-Mart employees are unionized?  The Chinese do it cheaper. Wal-Mart sells it cheaper. Americans like to buy things that are cheaper. China being one of the 5 remaining communist nations on earth has nothing to do with the exports. Cheap products at cheap prices is everything. For now. Besides this will spell the end of communist China. Wait until their kids get a taste of Levys, McDonalds and country music.

8 Hey man...I am troubled about the China situation and I don't know the answer. They seem to be more mercantilistic than free market and we let them get away with it.

9 This month we (America) has had the best import/export ratio with China in years. Soon the Chinese will want to get paid for their work. Don't worry about it. If the problem gets to big all we have to do is buy American. Ha, ha.
