The Only Way

A little Instapundit post like this one can cause such a reaction from my little blog bitch Oliver Willis and Kevin Drum at Washington Monthly......is......there must be some truth to it. Stuff just doesn't get that kind of reaction unless you feel guilty about err something, like say maybe selling out your country for political gain?

Updated: (below the fold) Ooops had two ls in Oliver, Sorry about that Oliver, My bad. The only way a little blog post by Howie can get this much attention.....

3 Anyway. Headed for Venice, La. to fish the night away. Going to fish the Mars oil rig for anything we can catch since we bombed out last week. So you weaklings can have your chance to piss and whine for the day or so.

5 STOP THE AMERIKAN WAR MACHINE!  ALL POWER TO THE AMERIKAN PROLETARIATE! Crush the running dogs of Capitalist Republicanism!  Time to tighten our belts around their necks!  Stop the Amerikan genocide! Defend the rights of Palestine!  Fight the Zionist Nazi monsters!  Free Mummia!  The Constitution is a tool of the bourgeoisie!... (uh, what did you say,..? uh yeah,  OH YEAH..., OK)..  AND I AM AN AMERIKAN PATRIOT.. (is that what I'm supposed to say?..)

6 Wow, great logic.  Blame the people who had the least influence on the planning, execution, and aftermath of the war.  I remember it all now: Harry Reid failed to plan for the aftermath.  Nancy Pelosi didn't send enough troops.  Oliver Willis allowed christian missionaries to flow over the border after the bombs stopped dropping, and Kevin Drum failed to get the power on and the lights running.  Isn't this kinda like blaming the Portland Trail Blazers for the Oakland Raiders crap season?

7 Oh, and let's turn this around: I hypothetically call one of your commentators a boy toucher.  The hypothetical commentator gets pissed.  Does that make that commentator a paedophile?  Hey, I'm just playing your pathetic little game here.

Just to let you know about Buzz Patterson's relationship to reality, here's a quote from July 6, 2005:

"The war is being won, if not already won, I think," Patterson, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force, said. "[Iraq] is stabilized and we want the soldiers themselves to tell the story."

9 "The war is being won, if not already won, I think"

Hmmmm, I've often wondered that, if maybe the left thinks we can afford to play politics with the war because, "we can't lose in the long run anyway."  It seems to me they discount the danger somewhat.

But it was a forgone conclusion that we would defeat Japan eventually as we went Island hopping to Okinawa.  But it was still going to cost dearly to do so. That  was the entire resoning behind the descision to bomb Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

I'll be the first to admit that George Bush's leadership abilities and Charisma are way way way below those of FDR.  Leaving him to lead this war by himself is a piss poor strategy. All the more reason we need the congress and the people, both left and right, to help pull the f*cking load

We need to push traditionally leftish issues of tolerance, political freedom and woments rights in the Islamic world just as hard as we pursue the military and diplomatic fronts.

We need the left to help with the war effort and with morale at home.

Not just the left but the entire congress abandoned their duty to help lead this nation to victory in the war with their cowardly "authorization" of Mr. Bush to act. al-Qaeda is not a state but was acting as a insurgent group intending on establishing a new state and states.  I say the by God yu can desclare war on them as an aspiring state actor and we sure as hell should have.

Where are the limits on use of fuel to starve the ME of capital to run around blowing shit up? Why are states raising the speed limit during a time of war, To send more money to the enemy?   To increase the cost to fuel our tanks?
Where are the public service ad compaigns? People are dying out there and America is at the shopping Mall. My cousin just arrived in Iraq, he is 20 years old, trying to help change the world.  Don't let him down.

It Didn't Work

By William F. Buckley Jr.

"I can tell you the main reason behind all our woes—it is America." The New York Times reporter is quoting the complaint of a clothing merchant in a Sunni stronghold in Iraq. "Everything that is going on between Sunni and Shiites, the troublemaker in the middle is America."

One can't doubt that the American objective in Iraq has failed.

11 I know you don't want the world to change for the better, because its the way things have been that enabes the leftists and the salafiis.  And you wlll leave that 20 year old green soldier stand right smack in the middle of some of the roughest fighting and attack him as a victim or a murderer. He is a soldier doing the best he can. We'd like to have him back now help him win or STFU.

12 Howie: I understand what you are saying. There is an assembly plant in Slidell, La. They manufacture the bomb proof vehicles that are to replace the Humvee tin cans. Seems to me they should be working 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day. Nope. 5 days, 8 hrs, all holidays off. Meanwhile are troops are getting the shit blown out of them. Does mainstream America realize we are at war? Or is prolonging a well paid job the most important thing in this contractor and their employees life. And why the hell isn't the Governmnet and military screaming their heads off. Guess those involved consider futher promotions come first. I have a feeling that soon it's going to be everyone for themselves.
