BAGHDAD (AP) - Three suicide bombers driving chlorine-laden trucks struck in the Sunni insurgent stronghold of Anbar province, killing two policemen and forcing about 350 Iraqi civilians and six U.S. troops to seek treatment for exposure to the gas, the military said Saturday.Bill Roggio has more here. The attacks came after back-to-back bombings last month released chlorine gas, prompting the U.S. military to warn that insurgents are adopting new tactics in a campaign to spread panic.
Just after 4 p.m. Friday, a driver detonated explosives in a pickup truck northeast of Ramadi, wounding one U.S. service member and one Iraqi civilian, the military said in a statement.
That was followed by a similar explosion involving a dump truck south of Fallujah in Amiriyah that killed two policemen and left as many as 100 local citizens showing signs of chlorine exposure, with symptoms ranging from minor skin and lung irritations to vomiting, the military said.
While the attacks haven't been claimed by al Qaeda, the attacks show the hallmarks of an al Qaeda operation. The attacks were carried out within hours of each other, used methods designed to cause mass casualties and mass media attention, and targeted a tribal leader opposed to al Qaeda's operations in the region. Multinational Forces Iraq breaks down the timing and targets:Who can doubt that if al-Qaeda had more spophisticated chemical weapons, they would use them?

Note the cut out and layover in both stills, there is a verticle line on the left side of the Bradely going down to the bottom of the pic. also at the top of that line there is another line goes right "cutting off" the lower half of the Bradely.

Rubin,
I wish I could agree, but I'm more convinced it's real images. Although even real images can tell a lie. The shmuck with the bomb was actually not trying that hard to hide his movements. I doubt that the Bradley was even occupied.
Note the bomber, and the camera angle are at the front of the vehicle, and that the drivers 'window' is in a position where the movements, if not his reflection, should have been visible. The engine wasn't running as far as I could tell, so the (loud eough to be picked up by a cameraman) 'prayers' should have been audible to the occupants, if any. It's not like he was a ninja, thats for sure!
Also the cannon position is straight on to the camera, so anyone at the weapon should have had a decent chance of spotting the cameraman, or the bomber, and that would have been a likely tip-off.
I think the reflections in the water do establish the presence of the 'vehicle'. The shakiness of the camera would make an edit job very difficult if some images were faked.
I think we need to be carful at declaring a fake, because it weakens belief in very genuine fakes that are already getting to litle attention. I believe a vehicle was blown uo, but I believe it was empty. All that gunfire proves nothing so far as I can tell. Maybe the splashes could tell us what angle the fire is coming from, but so far, I can't tell.
Anyway, for Islamo-imperialists this will remain a useful recruiting tool no matter if it is fake or not. Clearly, we need to take away thier internet priveleges. And ground them.

Michael do you have any thoughts as to what the artifacts are in the jpgs? The straight lines that describe a frame like section squared around the Bradely?

OK, I watched the vid again, and I think the artifacts from the jpeg's are layers, and seams from the brickwork in the background. I'd guess that there are steps behind the wall edge on the vehicles right (our left) and they lead to the structure in the background.
I do have to take back my hasty conclusion about the praying. It seems the cameraman himself was doing the praying. My bad. Additionally, I am unsure what the secondary explosions from any cannon ammo would be like, so I can't tell if that is what we here later, after the main explosion. Lots to guess at here. Anyway, I'm glad you took my opinion in the correct light, as I'm just scratching my head like the rest of us.
