Palestinians Sieze Refugee Camp in Lebanon

More good news from our well-meaning friends in the Fatah militant movement:

TRIPOLI, Lebanon (AP) -- Palestinian mediators pressed for a negotiated solution to a week-long siege of a Palestinian refugee camp Sunday, with the Lebanese government demanding the surrender of Islamic militants inside but reluctant to rush into an all-out assault.
The big news here is that the Palestinian terror hordes aren't launching rockets into Israel. Oh, wait - they're doing that, too.

'Land for Peace' is working quite well, isn't it? And if you're wondering about the motivations here, prepare to wipe the expressions of surprise from your no doubt stunned-looking mugs:

The leader of the Fatah Islam militants said his fighters would not surrender.

"We wish to die for the sake of God," Shaker Youssef al-Absi said in a video shown on Al-Jazeera television on Saturday. "Sunni people are the spearhead against the Zionist Americans."

Can't you feel the peeeaaacccee?

On an interesting side note, the AP article is by none other than our old buddy Bassem Mroue; an AP stringer extrodinaire who was caught scrubbing his personal blog entries last summer of virulent anti-Israel propaganda after I exposed him here at the Jawa Report.

The fact that he's still employed by the AP shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone either. Media Matters, inexplicably, missed that whole little incident.
