Significance?
Tawhid wal Jihad was the name of Abu Musab al Zarqawi's organization in Iraq, before they changed their name to al Qaeda.
A group calling itself the Brigades of Tawhid and Jihad in the Land of Somalia claimed responsibility for the late Monday attacks. And, as noted by Vinnie yesterday, despite the fact that the group claiming responsibility for the attack has chosen to name themselves after that of a known terrorist who's claim to fame is slowly beheading civilian hostages, the AP chooses to call them insurgents. Expect casualties and atrocities. More information about Tawhid wal Jihad. It said in a statement posted on the Web site of Somalia's routed Islamic movement that it attacked several parts of the capital where "infidels live."
