Saudi King: "Illegal U.S. Occupation"

Our friends, the Saudis.

King Abdullah: “In the beloved Iraq, the bloodshed is continuing under an illegal foreign occupation and detestable sectarianism.”

1 Again, how many of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers were Saudi? 15 or so?

The Sauidi's are upset that we aren't giving them enough attention. We need to assure them that as soon as we clean up Iraq and Iran, we'll straighten them out as well.

4 Sunnis killing Shiites? That fucking asshole wouldn't have it any other way.

5 I always wondered what the end result would have been if we had just let Saddam loose in the 90s instead of crushing him over Kuwait.  Would he actually have wiped out the Saudi royals? Could we wait until he then threatened Jordan and Lebanon, and then we destroyed him completely?  Theoretically, that would have allowed the 'democracy experiment' to cover a wider region at once, and under a Democratic president (so Congress would be more united on the war, with only fringes on both sides opposing).  Presumably, cutting off the Saudi terror funds a decade ago would mean the modern insurgent gangs would be fewer and weaker.

Obviously, that scenario would involve many times the death and destruction of how history actually played out - as of 2007. But in 50 years, I think the economics will tell another story.

6 Lip service to the terrorists.  To the Saudi royal family, the only thing worse than the US military being in the region is NOT having them in the region to protect them from the factions that would drive them from power.

8 GM,
I get smiles when I say "Aideh shomoh moborak," so I guess my pronunciation is close enough now. I used to get a reaction which gave an impression of: "look, the retarded American can walk and chew gum at the same time, let's tell him he's a good boy."

I'm going home to have some fesenjan tonight. My favorite.

11 You could start by asking them to move their embassy out of the White House Professor.
