Swords of This That or The Other

An unknown group threatens women in Palestine. They will be shown, “no mercy”, for failure to wear a hijab.

Jpost Dec 2nd: A hitherto unknown group calling itself the Just Swords of Islam issued a warning to Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip over the weekend that they must wear the hijab or face being targeted by the group's members.

In pamphlets distributed in various parts of the Gaza Strip, the group also claimed responsibility for attacks on 12 Internet cafes over the past few days.

The warning was directed primarily against female students in a number of universities and colleges who do not cover their heads in line with Islamic tradition.

The group said its followers last week threw acid at the face of a young woman who was dressed "immodestly" in the center of Gaza City. They also destroyed a car belonging to a young man who was playing his radio tape too loudly.

Addressing female students, the group said: "We will have no mercy on any woman who violates the traditions of Islam and who also hang out in Internet cafes."

According to the group, its members used rocket-propelled grenades to attack 12 Internet cafes and a number of music shops in different parts of the Gaza Strip.

It said the places were targeted because they were "distracting an entire generation of Palestinians from their duty to worship [Alla] and jihad so that they could serve their Zionist masters and the Crusaders."

Unknown is a bit misleading, it’s al-Qaeda 3.0. In October The “Islamic Swords of Justice” attacked a coffee shop with internet access for “UnIslamic Activities”. Al-Qaeda 3.0 is Rusty’s name for small al-Qaeda inspired cells. These are ”self starters” who use al-Qeada propaganda taken from the internet and other sources to create cells. These cells then generally carry out acts of terror at random.

Oct 9 th Ynet vid TJR: After the Palestinian branch of al-Qaeda took responsibility for killing a senior Palestinian intelligence officer and four of his escorts three weeks ago, the group again took responsibility for violence in the Gaza Strip. Early Sunday morning, Gunmen shot and set fire to an internet coffee shop in Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip, causing massive damage.

Sunday afternoon an announcement was made claiming that the organization Islamic Swords of Justice, identified as an affiliate of al-Qaeda are responsible for the incident.

The name is irrelevant, but normally includes in its name, the Swords of [insert Islamic catch phrase here].

The quirky thing about the use of the word sword is that implies it is God that actually kills people by letting them die. It’s not the sword that kills it’s God, for he is surely great enough to prevent it. See example here at LGF,

The examples I have of al-Qaeda 3.0 above are different, we see small groups of terrorists and criminals forming around Jihadist propaganda. But below the the lone wolf, or the lone idiot maybe.

A comment on this post said the man arrested in chicago was, “Definitely not al-Qaeda 3.0.” Well Yes, he’s a few versions short of a bug free run. But he had the same type of inspiration. I’m willing to bet 20 bucks that in the will video he claims to be a sword of [insert this that or the other here].
