From the Washington Times:
"I apologize to you personally and to everyone here," Mr. Carter said when asked about the passage by a student during his appearance at Brandeis University on Tuesday. After explaining that the passage was "worded in a completely improper and stupid way," Mr. Carter said he has asked publisher Simon & Schuster Inc. to change the wording in future editions of the book.Carter's own "botched joke" justified Palestinian terrorism against Israelis. But the Carter Center staffers who resigned did it because of the entire book, not just selected passages.
Meanwhile, President Peanut's friends in the mainstream media have been doing their best to keep this on the downlow.

Also the 15 who resigned were not staffers as you said. They were members of the Advisory Board. They do not work for the Center. At the time of their resignations there were over 200 Advisory Board members, so about 6% resigned.

Why? Because either A: you are too young to know WTF you are talking about (in which case I can forgive you): or B: you are an idiot (no hope, you can't cure stupid).

On "Worst president ever," Buchanan and Harding our generally accepted as the worst. I'd agree from an immediate damage standpoint, they are pretty bad. Both caused immediate harm to the country and no lasting benefits. Looking at long long term ideological damage to the country, however, I'd pick Woodrow Wilson as the worst president ever. Anyone who claims Bush is the worst ever has not taken a proper US history course -- probably a high school freshman.

late, and I'm beginning to question their sanity as a group since they
seem to suffer from the same madness as has infected lefturds in
general.

neocon "right" American political standards, because of their
positions on the settlemets, etc.
Carter should NOT have apologized however-the Pals have a right
to resist UNTIL Carter's reccomendations are in the process of
implementation.

Also, I presume you chose Wilson for the whole League of Nations thing and the precedent it set.
#3 Political Critic: Under Carter, the inflation rate went from 4% to 20%. The friendly neighborhood 6-for-5 every week legbreaking loan shark actually had competitive rates with major financial institutions. Morale in the military reached a nadir. As others have pointed out, Carter's toothless response to the hostage taking set the stage for a lot of the problems we are having with the Saracens today.
Bush has had lots of problems--no argument there.
The war has been run on the cheap, apparently with little or no long-term planning at the start, ROE's which are more dangerous to our troops than to the enemy, not to mention the constant effort to portray this as Vietnam redux. The ROE problem is apparently being solved. The others, well, we'll see. As was pointed out on, I believe, Protein Wisdom, lack of failure in Iraq is not an option for liberals. This is because if we succeed in Iraq, it will cause people to again look at Vietnam and to uncover truths which are unpleasant to liberals.
As to the economy, it is way better than under Carter, and I say this as someone who has not been employed full-time since May (anyone who wants to hire a 52 yr. old chemist please drop me a line). Bush inherited an economy perched on top of the .com bubble just before the venture capitalists who had funded said bubble started asking hard questions about what they were getting for their money, thereby causing the bubble to burst, thereby causing 1929 lite. The company I worked for at the time manufactured electronic materials primarily used by circuit board manufacturers, so I had a ringside seat for the collapse.
IMHO, Carter beats Wilson for worst. Wilson may take second depending on wooga's reasoning. Clinton is right up there, rounding out our top/bottom three. This is on the basis of both his domestic and foreign policies. Before someone starts ranting about the surplus, re-read the section above about the .com bubble. It was all smoke and mirrors. Add into that the fact that the Republican-controlled Congress stopped Hillarycare in its tracks and forced welfare reform down Clinton's throat, and you have the reasons for the surpluses (or were they only projected surpluses, I forget). His foreign policy seemed to consist mainly of kowtowing to the UN and European sensibilities. Hence the rating at the bottom.
