Wordpress Still Hosting Convicted Terrorist's (and others) Websites

A quick follow up on that earlier report on terrorist websites being hosted by Wordpress. In that earlier report, I noted that the San Francisco based Wordpress Inc. was hosting the personal website of indicted terrorist Daniel Joseph Maldonado (aka, Daniel al Jughaifi). In fact, I was wrong. Aaron from Internet Haganah e-mailed with the good news that Maldonado pleaded guilty to training with al Qaeda.

That makes Wordpress guilty of hosting the website of a convicted terrorist.

Media Newswire:

A United States citizen, who trained to fight jihad along with elements of al Qaeda to establish an Islamic state in Somalia, has been convicted of receiving training from a foreign terrorist organization, Don DeGabrielle, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, Kenneth L. Wainstein, Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division of the Department of Justice, and Roderick Beverly, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Houston Division, announced today.

At a hearing this afternoon, Daniel Joseph Maldonado, a.k.a. Daniel Aljughaifi, 28, pleaded guilty to the sole charge in an Information filed on March 30, 2007 and unsealed today. During the hearing, Maldonado admitted he had traveled from Houston, TX to Africa in November 2005 and then on to Somalia in December 2006 to join the Islamic Courts Union ( ICU ) and elements of Al Qaeda to fight “jihad” against the Transitional Federal Government to establish an independent Islamic State in Somalia.

Way to go Wordpress!

Here is a list of terrorist or terrorist support websites hosted by Wordpress, which are still up as of this writing. Since I know Wordpress has heard complaints about the following websites they are hosting---you know, since we asked you to complain about them here---I wouldn't be too terribly disinclined to as much publicity about this as possible. Usually corporations such as Wordpress ignore these things because they think no one is paying attention. Let's draw some attention......

Terrorists*:
Islamic Courts Union (al Qaeda linked former government of Somalia--aka, "African Taliban")
Daniel al Jughaifi (personal website of American jihadi Daniel Joseph Maldonado convicted of training with al Qaeda)
Amreekan (literature by convicted terrorist Sheik Nasir bin Hamid al Fahd who famously issued a fatwa granting al Qaeda the right to use WMD against the U.S.)

Terror supporters**:
Caravan of Martyrs (al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia support)
Ignored Puzzle (general Salafi-Sunni terror supporter)
Muslim in Kenya (supporter of al Qaeda backed Somalian ICU)
al Jihad (terrorist propaganda)
Truthline (general terror supporters)
Moderates Refuted (general terror supporters / followers of Omar Bakri Mohammed)
Naseeha (al Qaeda support)

UPDATE: Mike sends along these e-mails as more useful in complaints:

m@mullenweg.com
security@wordpress.org

*websites of known terror organizations, terrorists, or those acting in their name
**Few terror supporters actually say, "we support terrorism" and these blogs are no exception. What they do is define terror in such a way as to exclude every organization listed by the U.S. State Department as specially designated terrorist entities. Most of these blogs, though, openly support terror organizations such as al Qaeda in Iraq, the Islamic Courts Union of Somalia, or the Taliban.

6 Wordpress, like Blogger, hosts a metric shit load of Salafi sites, I wouldn't expect much by way of take down but I may be wrong. I'll be watching your post to see how it goes
