Heh:
Criticisms of Mr. Gore have come not only from conservative groups and prominent skeptics of catastrophic warming, but also from rank-and-file scientists like Dr. Easterbook, who told his peers that he had no political ax to grind. A few see natural variation as more central to global warming than heat-trapping gases. Many appear to occupy a middle ground in the climate debate, seeing human activity as a serious threat but challenging what they call the extremism of both skeptics and zealots.Notice that they didn't say "most."
Wonder how many death threats will be flooding those inboxes on West 43rd between tonight and tomorrow.

This is just my 2 cents but I bet we see more "global warming" scrutiny closer to the election and if there is a democratic president you can almost guarantee that the scientists who know the truth about global warming will finally speak out against it. To speak out against it now is perhaps percieved as supporting Bush or a right wing agenda. Reason and critical thinking has been thrown out in favor of politics again.
