Muslims Fleeing CAIR in Droves

This may be the best news of the week. Audrey Hudson at The Washington Times is reporting that membership in the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has declined by more that 90% since 9/11. Apparently the Washington Times is just giving us a teaser for a lengthier article to follow in tomorrow's dead tree edition. But check this out:

According to tax documents obtained by The Times, the number of reported members spiraled down from more than 29,000 in 2000 to less than 1,700 in 2006, a loss of membership that caused the Muslim rights group's annual income from dues to drop from $732,765 in 2000, when yearly dues cost $25, to $58,750 last year, when the group charged $35.

The organization instead is relying on about two dozen individual donors a year to contribute the majority of the money for CAIR's budget, which reached nearly $3 million last year.

CAIR only has about 1,700 dues paying member and they want you to believe that they speak for Muslim Americans? My estimation of the vast majority of Muslims that I know is that they would never have anything to do with an organization as vile as CAIR. Now I know I was right.

It kind of makes you wonder why the MSM takes CAIR seriously? Keep an eye out for tomorrow's report. Note to Professor Chaos: buy Washington Times tomorrow.

PS--So, who are these two dozen mysterious donors that keep CAIR afloat?

2 I smell a rat. A muslim rat.

3 I just wonder whether this is a result of "not speaking for Muslims" or a case of growing apathy. Hate to use this as a comparison, but AmSpec soared during the period of Clinton-gates, and has been dwindling in subscribers since.  If, for instance, Muslims are beginning to sense the end of the GWOT, there's less incentive to remain active in a group if its prominence has risen as a direct result.

Just throwing it out there.  There's prolly much more to add to that.

4 That's a valid opinion, but to me, it looks more and more like people are beginning to wise up and take more heed of the GWoT, which can only be a good thing.

5 Comrades,

Ya know, this is a situation that's just ripe for the picking. With CAIR's membership so low, I figure we could all institute a hostile take-over.

All we need is enough infidels to join up, pay the dues, then kick the leadership out and run things the way WE say they ought to be run... heh.

What say you? Anyone else up for giving those bastards the old heave-ho? Besides which, if we took over, WE could get all the trade mark rights, copyrights, etc. The mind reels at the potential for much playful mischief and skull-duggery.

     Respects,

7 I've got a subscription ...

8 Where do I send my $35.00. I want to run for CAIR president. I can help.

9 The Jawa Report easily has more members than CAIR.

10 I haven't really tracked CAIR's activities very closely, but if they have lately, (last four or five years) become more staunchly pro islamist this could explain why that has occurred.  The members that have left CAIR are probably a mixture of those who disagree with their slanted views or those who just don't want to be associated with a group like CAIR now.  Either way the remainder are probably even more loony and crazy than normal which could explain why now CAIR is strictly a collection of 7th century retreads.

12 I believe CAIR''s numbers have fallen is the fact that they are being more scrutinized. The jihadi don't want their cover blown and CAIR isn't doing too good right now. I would imagine you will be seeing another group cropping up in support of islam. It would be nice if I am wrong but I don't think so. They do not give up that easily and only find a different route to spead their end goal the caliphate. I have been wondering what is the percentage of Americans that bare arms compared to the others that don't. You know the lefties don't as love everyone is in their main cause. I would truly like to know who will be with me if the time comes. I'm serious and no joke here. I have quit using the shotgun because it blows me on my butt but I can still handle the 357 magnum and the only after effect is ringing in my ears. I truly feel we will have a problem with islam here in the states. What with the center in New York and other training camps on our soil they are preparing for a holocaust and I plan on being one of the survivors. Nuff said

13 These non-existent membership numbers prove CAIR is entirely a MSM creation.  The MSM takes these extremists and holds them out as the voice of American muslims-- and then these same Libturds accuse people like ME of tarnishing the image of muslims.  LOL.  Welcome to the upside down world of Liberalism.

14 I'd like to wake up tommorrow without a C.A.I.R in the world !

15 Allahackchew nailed it. Muslims are simply disengaging from that front
in order to find a new way to attack us from behind, which is better
suited to their cowardly nature.
