Condi and the Bachelor

(Stellarton, Nova Scotia) I noticed a provocative piece in today's Toronto Star which hints that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has a very special personal relationship with Ottawa's most eligible bachelor, Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay.

During a spring visit with Rice in Washington, MacKay, who turns 41 two weeks from today, had gushed that the two shared a "chemistry" and conceded he had always been a "fan."

MacKay steered clear of any such fawning talk yesterday. But it was obvious he was smitten with one of the world's most powerful women as they exchanged a handshake and double-cheek kiss. The feeling appeared mutual. Rice, who has never married, repeatedly called MacKay by his first name and seemed in no rush to finish up her morning agenda.

"This has been a lovely trip, Peter," she told him.

The piece lacks lust but it's packed with "Oh, how sweet." Think about it. He gushed of chemistry and she had a lovely trip. Just like peas and carrots.

1 Personally, I'm a little jealous.  I always imagined that Condi and I would get back together some day.

7 Old MacKay has a thing for powerful women, and for the most part, they have a thing for him. That's why they're having a 'high level meeting' at her hotel suite. Nudge nudge wink wink say no more.

The shooting is at a college in Montreal. So far every media outlet is giving different details so nothing substantial yet.

8 Speaking as a citizen of Canada and a subject of Queen Elizabeth II, I can tell you that as far as I'm concerned Dr. Condi Rice and General Powell and their boss that valiant Texan President G.W. Bush and their families are welcome up here any day any time.

9 Yeah! Heh- heh! Canada needs a good home-wrecking! I'll be happy to pay the one-way fare!

10 Well, the only thing I have to say is this, I would never take any part of Canada into the US unless Canada was forced to take New England and the West Coast(Californistan, Oregonistan, and Washingtonistan) plus New York. Then I would like to have Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the NW Territories, and the Yukon in exchange. Sounds like a fair trade to me. Canada could get some more people, and us rednecks in the US could get some good hunting and fishing territory.

11 And oil, can't forget the oil

12 What damn oil? You mean the whale oil? I believe in hunting, my friend, but leave the damn whales alone. I like whales, and no hunting or turning whales into oil can be allowed in the new states. Do you understand that, Hi?

14 I would have thought that you would only find this story interesting if the Canadian was a minor.

16 Joe, I'm from California, so I'm going to have to oppose your trade.

Honestly, I'm guessing that both Canada and Mexico will be a part of the US by the end of the 21st century. Just a hunch really, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

17 Californians have thrown in the towel.

Even Condi needs to get laid, now and then.

18 Mexico will have to be part of the US, since its entire population is relocating here.

19 IM, the United States will actually become part of Mexico if the present trends continue.

20 I sincerely hope Condi meets a man and gets laid. He seems like a nice enough fella.
