Sad thing is that Bill Moyers really believes he couldn't possibly have said those things about his opponents. You see, in his own mind he's kind and compassionate and just wouldn't stoop to such a level. He really believes that, folks. And yet, there he is on tape saying exactly what he denies saying. In Liberal la la land it's only conservatives who attack people like that, and Liberals are the victims. They really REALLY believe that in their heart of hearts.

Must've been a slow "news" day at The Factor. I didn't hear O'Reilly's name directly used at all in the first segment, and I heard his name bunched with a group of other talk radio mouths as an example of a particular type of journalistic approach (talk radio) in the second.
The questions from this Jesse guy was, "You said that Bill spews venom," to which Moyers said no he didn't. He's exactly right, he never said Bill O'Reilly spews venom. He said the Hannitys, the O'Reillys, the Limbaughs and the Savages ... "tried to slander and discredit journalists with an avalanche of opposition and venom directed at them. " Not quite the same as saying "That Bill O'Reilly, what a venom-spewer."
IMHO, instead of not letting this Jesse guy get away with a piss-poor and misleading paraphrasing job, he should've stuck to his guns because he was right in the first place.
Now, let's roll some tapes on O'Reilly and see if we can get the same kinds of results. I'm certain we can ... though he could fire back with something along the lines of, "But I've never claimed I wasn't a hypocrite ... the Libs do that."

B nailed it, but lets for a second say that he did actively lie about saying those thing re Bill & Co, and wasn't just confused re the context of the question...
Is anything else he said to Rolling Stone untrue? I guess I'd rather see a guy lie about saying a dude is part of a slime machine, rather than actively lie about things like, oh say, firing attorneys, or the reasons for going to war, and killing tens of thousands of people. Funny how you guys couldn't give a shit about stuff like that.
And as for Bill not agreeing to be on Moyer's show... fuck off. No really... fuck off. Conducting the interview on you own set, and shooting it with your cameras, is not being on somebody else's show... that's being on your own fucking show your falafel smearing weirdo.
