Most Bizzare AP Caption Ever?

I'm not sure what to make of this - playing up the "civil rights" angle? There is nothing in the accompanying article pertaining to the Civil War or the Confederacy. This is perhaps one of the most blatant reaches for "context" that I've seen from the AP in a long time.

Here's what it says:

An attempt to show "how far we've come," even though "racism exists behind every dark shadow?" Pretty stupid. I'm wondering about the editor(s) that let that one through.

1 LOL! That's hilarious! No doubt the reporter thought (s)he was being very clever.

But what does that have to do with the picture and the story. Racism and bad things are around every corner of human existence but somehow they like to bring it up as much as possible with America. It reminds me of the question the other night for the Republican debate. What do you dislike about America the most. I bet you when the queen visits Germany the caption does not read she landed in the former land of Nazis  where a torture center was just down the road next to the park where a women was raped last week by immigrant youths who had been ostracized by an uncaring German society.

4 Randman, you are right...my bad...The question brought up in the Republican debate about what do you hate about America....why would any American/broadcaster ask a question like that unless they are unAmerican...

5 Maybe she heard about Sherman and Atlanta but hadn't gotten the word about Richmond.  Sounds plausible to me.

I'm not much for Royals and the like, but she's always seemed a sensible bird to me.  Likes the horses, she does.

6 Yep the royals are racist. No blacks in their lineage. which makes allahdickchew feel bad because she has many her lesbian past. Filthy skanks like allahdickchew always have one in the woodpile.

7 I happen to admire the Queen of Australia and New Zealand.  The rest of you boys trying to put political tags on this can kiss my rosey red.
