'Experts' Strain to Snatch Defeat From Jaws of Victory

Catch-22, al-Reuters style.

On the one hand, Bush has crushed al Qaeda to the point where they no longer have the ability to mount an attack in the United States:

Even as al Qaeda tries to rebuild operations in Pakistan, experts including current and former intelligence officials believe the group would have a hard time staging another September 11 because of U.S. success at killing or capturing senior members whose skills and experience have not been replaced.

"If the question is why al Qaeda hasn't carried out another 9/11 attack, the answer I think is that if they could have, they would have," said a former senior U.S. intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

But, every silver lining has a cloud, especially if Reuters disapproves of the President's political party. Most of the article is about how horrible success has been for us:
Some experts warn that the successes of Bush's war on terrorism have been undercut by huge security costs, strains on the U.S. military from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and resentment of the United States abroad.
And there you have it. Where Bush went wrong was to pursue the terrorists to their home bases and shift the battlefield from Manhattan to Afghanistan and Iraq. Far better to have allowed bin Laden to continue launching attacks directly against American civilians. At least then we'd have less "resentment abroad."

1 Will their "resentment" stop them from buying Coke and Levis blue jeans?  Will it stop them from selling us their plastic trinkets?  Will it stop them from running, not walking, to immigrate here?  No.  So they can stick their "resentment" right up they ass.  Nobody with any brains cares.  Our country has been resented for DECADES, and it's nothing but ENVY at how great America is compared to their own stinkin shyte holes.  Fuck em.

You know, I got cut off while driving into work today. I have quite a bit of resentment for that a$$hole, but I never felt the need to load up my car with explosives and plow into his family and detonate. It takes more than just 'resentment' to make someone a suicide bomber, I just can't put my finger on it.

3 There wouldn't really be less resentment...it just wouldn't be as blatant.

4 "....every silver lining has a cloud, especially if Reuters...."

Bluto,
This is very characteristic of Mo-slime infiltrators. Case in point is of course our resident, pathetically exposed, troll "John Ryan".
I have no doubt that al-Reuters, al-Associated Press and all major media outlets have been infiltrated by mo-slime propagandists.
In case of BBC, this has overtly been the case for at least 30 years that I know of.
Even Voice of America Urdu and Persian services have been thus compromised. I understand there were testimonies before a U.S. Senate Committee on just this issue.

5 "Look at al Qaeda's plans," said Michael Scheuer, who once led the CIA
team devoted to finding al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. "They're very
simply defined in two phrases: spread out America's forces and bleed
the United States to bankruptcy. I'd argue America has been under
attack successfully every day since 9/11 from that perspective.

This is what The Boosh has done for the US-- and what you conveniently choose to ignore in your , er, analysis.

6 The money men have said no more attacks on USA, too much risk, look what happened last time, traced it right back to Afghan, and then they tookmIraq to make sure muslims got the message.

THE ONLY WAY, is if they thought it could not be traced back to any country for USA to strike.

Point being is there was no link to Iraq and they hit Iraq anyway.

AQ still has to dance to the money men, they ended the beheadings.

7 Yeah Gleep....if we just ignored them they would leave us alone like they did after the first attack on the Twin Towers. Fucking brilliant.

Posted by: Randman at April 03, 2007 12:45 PM (Sal3J)

8 They most certainly did not end the beheadings.   They just stopped filming most of them. ISI/ al-Qaeda has claimed many beheadings in press releases lately. They also beheaded a man in Iraq in front of his neighbors. Ansar al-Sunna released an exection in the last two weeks with a beheading although it was clipped just as they started the execution.

9 And what al-Gleep! conveniently chose to ignore in her reaction spasm is that Michael Scheuer led the failed Clinton effort against bin Laden, which led directly to the 9/11 attacks. Of course he must find fault with his successors. At least al-Gleep! is consistent in her hatred of the US.

10 Michael Scheuer led the failed Clinton effort against bin Laden, which led directly to the 9/11 attacks.

What utter nonsense. Scheuer was frustrated at every turn in the Boosh administration until his resignation from the CIA in '04. The Clinton failings in the pursuit of Bin Laden pale, absolutely pale, in comparison to the ball dropped dropped during Tenet's CIA oversight. Aplogism for Boosh aside, who let Bin Laden slip away AFTER 9/11?

Posted by: Gleep! at April 03, 2007 01:37 PM (Zlbra)

11 Yeah, but who appointed Tenet to start with?

12 What documents did Sandy Berger destroy/er accidentally fell into his socks/shirt/construction site.

13 What a dead giveaway for moron traitors like Gleep is how in multiple post he list the terrorist murderer leader Bin Laden in the proper way but ridicules the President of the United States. Respect for terrorist leaders and hate for the US president. We know which side your on you  traitorous fuck.

14 How dare you question Abu al-Gleep!'s patriotism!

15 Randman,

I seriously hope that you were not expecting intelligence for the likes of gleep. He/she would much rather be pounded in the ass by a Muslim the actually think for him/herself. Cause you know how evil the US is, we advocate and fight to the very death to give such boils upon the ass of civilization the right to spew their vile derisions upon the very societies that protect their rights against Islam which would behead them for daring to utter the garbage they vomit forth.

17 No DG. I don't expect it but it would be nice. I wish we could just split the country and let the libs go their way. I despise them.

Posted by: Randman at April 04, 2007 01:04 AM (Sal3J)

18 Randman,

Fuck splitting the country, I'm all for giving the communist rat bastards a small boat and two days worth of water and setting them adrift in the pacific. Please allow me to alter an old gun rights saying. They can have my country when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.
