Trying to be nice here, since it seems to be possible at the moment. I really don't care who drags us into a war with Iran as long as it happens soon enough to keep them from getting real nukes. Israel is a good country, and anyone who would sell out a current ally just to appease old enemies (tempoorarily) does not deserve respect.

Buchanan is in my opinion, a failing intellect. I suppose he isn't a traitor or a fool, but he is still wrong. I'll offer the thought that he is simply getting to old to know why isolationism won't work anymore.

For example, during the peak of the cold war, the president went around ready to launch nukes if required. Congress was not in the plane, or helicopter with him. The President was, and is Commander in Cheif of the armed forces, and may take immediate steps where needed. Congress can harp about it later if we live.

The world we live in is just as ready to explode as it was in the 1980's, only our current main enemies have a 'heaven' they think is waiting for them, if they die warring against us. While they (may not) have nukes, they are close to getting them, and we can't allow that.

Have you ever heard of either the M-129, or the M-159 SADM (Special Atomic Demolition Munition)? They are supposed to use a W-54 warhead with a yeild of up to a Kiloton upon detonation. They weighed about 163 pounds, and were first deployed in 1964 so they are pretty old technology. Make quite a car-bomb wouldn't they!?

Or maybe on a container aboard ship at a dock in NY City? Or maybe aboard a Cessna just touching down nose first on the WhiteHouse Lawn? Or maybe deployed as the ultimate IED, buried next to the Golden Gate Bridge? If they get one they can bring it here.

And they will come, because they are ordered to by God! No amount of 'isolationism' can change that. Only proactive force, and diplomacy can do it. You NEED force because without it, there is no need for them to talk to you. You are weak prey, to be conquered. Again, we need to be the strongest, and ready to prove it. And we need to remove our enemies capacity to threaten us wherever possible. No Islamic/Iranian nukes can be allowed ever.

Pakistan, if it goes from secular, to Islamic, will need to be taken out immediately. We might have time to at least stop Iran from even getting one, but even now it may be to late.

Why should we wait for a terrorist nuke?
