Jawa in The News: Jawa 1, Online Jihadis 0

Wow, kicking al Jazeerah's virtual butt got us some "dead tree" coverage. Another enemy agitprop website down.

Greg Pierce at the Washington Times:

Online no more

Two weeks ago, this column reported that Texas blogger Rusty Shackleford (mypetjawa.mu.nu) was surprised to learn that Hassan A. El-Najjar, a faculty member of Dalton (Ga.) State College, was editor of the Al Jazeerah anti-war Web site (aljazeerah.info), which Mr. Shackleford said "openly supports terrorism, conspiracy theories, and is anti-Semitic."

Now, Mr. El-Najjar says he's calling it quits.

"I have concluded that it's not safe for me any more to continue editing Al-Jazeerah.info in this atmosphere of intimidation, which abridges freedom of speech and freedom of the press. ... I promise to resume publication as soon as conditions change to a more peaceful and tolerant discourse," Mr. El-Najjar wrote at his site.

He blamed the decision on critics who, he said, "have been orchestrating a campaign" against him.

"The campaign seems to have started by a person called Rusty Shackleford ... then echoed by other Web sites and media, several of which urged people to write letters to officials in the state of Georgia, particularly in the institution I work with," Mr. El-Najjar wrote.

Mr. Shackleford responded: "We humbly accept credit. ... So, good riddance. If it really is good riddance."

If you don't read Greg Pierce's regular column, you should. Checking out aljazeerah.info today, you'll notice El-Najjar's newest message, speaking of himself in the third person:
He decided to stop the publication for now hoping to resume it when conditions change in a later time.
What conditions would those be, I wonder? Perhaps El-Najjar thinks we'll stop monitoring his activities which include spinning bizarre and seditious conspiracy theories and supporting terrorists? Newsflash: WE WON'T.

as your humble bear predicted the idiot has become a sock puppet master. lol... but it goes along with the islamic doctrine of deceit.

one might wonder though why would God who never changes, would suddenly give muhamed and his ideological slaves a blank check to lie and murder.
maybe because allah is the one about whom One had said: "He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him"

5 Hey Rusty J Doe...

Is there some kind of professional designation for 'intimidator' or 'free speech abridger'?

If so, I'd like to take the required classes..lol.

7 thanks Kamchatka...

its what the good 'Mr. El-Najjar' said about Rusty...  If pummeling and dogging terrorist supporters, apologists and anti-semites is 'intimidating' to them or 'abridges (purportedly) their freedom of speech', then count me in.

10 We will be waiting for him. Conditions aren't going to change. Bad guys are bad guys plain and simple. On a side note saw on LGF that the Muslim Brotherhood has been invited to speak before Congress. What Congressperson invited them  is unknown at this time. I truly hope this is untrue because it means Pelosi and Co. were busy whilst in the Middle East plotting their evil.

11 In regards to my above post here is an interesting read about "The Project" of the muslim brotherhood..

12 wow...just wow. i took my sociology classes from El-Najjar and i think you guys are really blowing this out of proportion. the guy isn't a terrorist, he's probably one of the last remaining honest to god american patriots in existence. what you people don't know is that at least two other (white anglo-saxon protestant) DSC faculty members worked closely with El-Najjar to edit his site. one of those faculty members is an associate professor of history and political science. they flat out tell their students that this site is intended as an excercise in free speech in a climate that increasingly stifles the spread of such radical ideas as the bill of rights. i guess really you folks deserve mega props for proving the point. the scary part about this (when you consider the fact a confederated government is centralizing to better facilitate its occupation of foreign nations, not to mention tighten its grip on the people living under its rule) is that the first step on the road to empirialism is flushing out the champions of liberty in our schools and universities and replacing them with the mouthpieces of big brother. welcome to Fox College: A Fair and Balanced Education. so tell me guys, when do plan to open the first concentration camp?

13 sean,  You can claim whatever you like. It doesn't change the fact that a site that glamorizes anti-American radicalism, is actually encouraging such radiclism. If I bought into your weak excuse for El Najjar's behavior, it is still morally reprehensable.  It is just the same as if I went around slandering you, or your family, just to test the reaction. If you reason that lies are OK on a public forum, for some hypothetcal research purpose, then the kind of lie doesn't matter does it?  Anyone should be able to see my point here. El Najjar has no moral excuse. He is doing harm, and should be stopped.
                                USA, all the way!

first of all, his site gained national attention years ago and if what he had been doing was slanderous he could and most likely would have been judicially shut down. as a sociologist he has every right to conduct a sociological experiment on such a scale. most importantly he has the right as an american citizen to voice his opinion and express his ideas even if it offends the delicate whitebread sensibilities of neo-con america. and if you want to talk about morals let's discuss the moral reprehensibility of fabricating a link from 9/11 to Iraq [Clarke]. how does our government get away with it? because people in this country like sitting around on their fat asses and watching shit get blow'd up.

Posted by: sean at April 16, 2007 04:32 PM (EyJiM)

15 And we have every right to speak out against it.  Every right to complain to the Dalton State President and Board. Every right to express our opinion and outrage that this man is supporting terror and using Dalton state to legitimize his postion.  Every rigth to perfrom our  own little social experiement, called what happens if we bitch to the powers that be about this.....I guess you can see the result.  Apparently the Dalton State board agree's with us.  1st ammendment my ass.  The govenrment did not shut him down. The people with the force of their speech and opinions shut him down....That's the way the free speech ball bounces, deal with it!
