It's official: Christina Aguilera's Music is Torture

Christina_aguilera_south_park_dog.gif
Ok, I now admit that interogation methods used at Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, were in fact torture. Ananonva:

Christina Aguilera's music has reportedly been used to interrogate a leading al Qaeda suspect at Guantanamo Bay.

Time magazine says her songs were played to try to break down Mohammed al Qahtani who is believed to be the so-called 20th hijacker.

Qahtani is thought to have tried to enter the US in August 2001 as part of the team which took part in the September 11 attacks.

That's cruel and unusual in my book....

UPDATE: Whoever is in charge over at The Superficial has similar thoughts (and headline...ahem...cough...):

Thanks a lot pussy liberals. This could have been an awesome report if not for you, and they could have replaced the words “dripping water onto” with “slammed a hammer into” and “playing Christina Aguilera music” with “execute”. Honest to God, once I'm in charge, if I see any electronic equipment brought into a room with a guy involved with 9/11, I better hear the phrase, “Red is positve, black is negative” and “don't bother with any KY.”

1 Not enough! A cop buddy of mine reports that pepper-spray to the nether regions is worse than a Tazer-hit...uh...yeh...said he head a strange hissing sound when he went to sit in his patrol car, and felt his pants get damp...Yowch!! But the upside was that he drove back to the Station as a freebird. Heh. Sans pantalons.

5 I say we close down Gitmo -- after all of the evil stigma surrounding it.
We should then ship the prisoners to a new camp in Israel, ran by mossad.
I bet they'd be begging for Christina Aguilera's CD's back then.

7 Maybe they can show them Barabara Steisand movies too but Amnesty would object.

8 Maybe they could make them listen to me blab on all day as well.

9 "Maybe they can show them Barabara Steisand movies too but Amnesty would object."

Hell, even I wouldn't do that, and I'm a complete bastard. Couldn't we just hammer their toes flat instead? There would probably be a lot less screaming.

10 Her music isn't that bad is it guys?

Being forced to listen to Ashlee Simpson, that would be torture.

11 I'd consider being forced to listen to very loud Muslim music for hours on end torturous. While I completely disagree with likening Guantanemo as being a "gulag," I'll also say that some torture doesn't need to be physical. I mean, it's not the fact that it's Christina Aguilera that makes it torture (though I'd still find listening to her torture).

You also need to keep some things in a cultural perspective. You can find no shortage of neocon bloggers who will gladly detail how terrible Islam is and why the west is superior, yet when it comes to "torture" try to generalize across a western vantage point. Sure, Islam is different from our western viewpoints; so, if you accept that, you also have to accept the fact that some things aren't so innocuous in Islam.

Are they being physically tortured? Likely not. Are they not being tortured at all? Who knows.

12 They should cinsiter making them watch a realy bad movie like ALEXANDER or how about disneys putrid remake of AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS? or better yet make them watch one of bill clintons speeches or would that violate the geneva convention?

13 Ya wanna torture muslims? Back to back showings of Fiddler on the Roof and Yenta. All day. Every day. On every wall and ceiling.
