The claim Ace is linking appears similar to the one below the fold. But then again I don’t read Arabic? Hint hint.
The claims are propaganda mostly, but could, maybe be true. Don't hold your breath or anything. Just hope maybe he isn't, breathing that is. The al-Sadr claim was posted on a terrorist forum as follows

Abu Dar‘, commander of all pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi forces in Iraq, reported killed by Iraqi Resistance south of Balad12-01-2006, 07:54 PM (obviusly last Tuesday)
In a bulletin posted at 9:50pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam said that the death had been reported of the commander of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia for all Iraqi territory. According to the report, the commander was killed by the Iraqi Resistance. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the commander of all Jaysh al-Mahdi formations in Iraq, a man known as Abu Dar‘, had been killed in the as-Sayyid Muhammad area, some 20km south of Balad. There were, however, other reports claiming that the man killed was Abu al-Mu’minin, the Jaysh al-Mahdi commander for just the Balad city area, and that he had been killed in a Resistance ambush in Balad, some 80km north of Baghdad…

just finished my interview with Tommy Franks #2 on what he knew about
