May 22, 2006Regarding the dress code story it seems that my column was used as the basis for a number of reports that somehow jumped the gun. As far as my article is concerned I stand by it.
The law has been passed by the Islamic Majlis and will now be submitted to the Council of Guardians. A committee has been appointed to work out the modalities of implementation.
Many ideas are being discussed with regard to implementation,including special markers, known as zonnars, for followers of Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrianism, the only faiths other than Islam that are recognized as such. The zonnar was in use throughout the Muslim world until the early 20th century and marked out the dhimmis, or protected religious minorities. ( In Iran it was formally abolished in 1908).
I have been informed of the ideas under discussion thanks to my sources in Tehran, including three members of the Majlis who had tried to block the bill since it was first drafted in 2004. I do not know which of these ideas or any will be eventually adopted. We will know once the committee appointed to discuss them presents its report, perhaps in September.
Interestingly, the Islamic Republic authorities refuse to issue an
official statement categorically rejecting the concept of dhimmitude and the need for marking out religious minorities.I raised the issue not as a news story, because news of the new law was already several days old, but as an opinion column to alert the outside world to this most disturbing development.

Why don't have some outrage against the Saudi textbooks, who still preach hatred against Jews and Christians. Even after "major reforms"?
The Wash Post has a major article about it. In first grade Saudi kids learn: "Every religion other than Islam is false."
And in eighth grade: "As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus."

Actually, that's not true David, Europe is far, far worse off than the United States. Yes the US' approach to Islamic fundamentalism is far from perfect, but while the government tries to look the other way, there's a massive movement within the population to keep the pressure on. Unlike Europe, which at all levels of government and within the population, with the exception of a few lonely voices who are often ridiculed and slandered, are determined to generously provide the ass, the lube and the cigarettes (or rather the hookah in this case) for afterwards.

Is it because of the 11th Sep events? I may look a bit naive to you but please be informed that the people who did it aren't muslim. And please translate correctly: Allah is not a God in its own, it's the arabic translation of God.
I'm always mad at stupid translation mentionning Allah being a separate entity, is it to explicitly mention a difference between Muslim's God and the Judeo-Chretien's one?! (sorry for my english guys, I don't know how to translate this last word).

Iran's nutsack leader believes he will be the one to facillitate the arrival of the 12th Imam. The clothing thing is in preparation of this event. He wants the change over to be complete in 5 years, or just before he believes the 12th Imam will reveal himself to the world and herald in the New world wide caliphate. Add 5 to 2006 and you come up with the year 2011. So by 2011 he wants to be ready for this event.
The Mayan calendar has predicted the end of the world to occur in the year 2012.
