How Modern Liberals Think

Pretty damn good. The nutroots hate it, which means it is deadly accurate.

Being a former liberal Democrat, I can vouch for much of this. The general ethos of the leftist mind necessitates that you must resist restraining (conservative) impulses. Logic and reason are restraining impulses. Since modern liberalism is primarily a state of unrestrained emotional turbulence, the liberal must find reasons for excusing his most base emotional instincts and instead embrace the "liberation" that comes from not being able to summon reason to control your impulses. Many consequently fall prey to the tempting natural impulse of letting emotion override logic and reason. The liberal creed dictates that feelings are more important than anything, and that they shall hold court over reason.

That's why a liberal will be willing and able to find just about any reason to compare Bush to Hitler or Bin Laden (or whoever), but has a hard time thinking of reasons and using that wild imagination of his/hers to think about how a driven and financed terrorist cell could smuggle and detonate a dirty bomb (or even just a fertilizer bomb) into some part of a major city and kill thousands of lefty like-minded thinkers just like him.

Plus, they hate the military and the Troops. Votes and blood money don't lie.

4 thanks enjoyed listening to Evan Sayet, Liberals Are indiscriminate and have adopted a philosophy that rejects every sucessful thing about traditional America. They hate success, they hate successful America, Israel, Christianity, white people, Jews, unborn life, the right to bear arms, the free speech of other folks, capitalism, gasoline, big block Chevys and Fords, fishing, hunting, red meat, Us Armed Forces, heterosexuals, and it's traditional values so much they are willing to embrace homosexuality, Islamic Jehad, fascism, Islamic fascists, socialism, commie-rat-bastards and that big pig Rosie Odonnell.

5 I'm with Rubin. Democrats must be very unhappy people. Love to see a study done. Since academia is primarily composed liberal meatheads with a lot of foreighers thrown in. I doubt the results could be trusted.

It just occurred to me that what he completely failed to talk about was the notion of White Guilt that underlies everything else he talked about. Unless he works that into his analysis of modern Liberalism he's only partially correct. He sees the smoke, but not the fire.

Exactly. Everything is equivalent-- which is the VERY OPPOSITE of "nuanced." They make "black or white" conservatives seems downright complex in comparison.

10 Worth every minute of time. Rarely have I heard such a clear summation on what makes modern Lieberals tick. The unanswered question, however, is what it will take to reverse the trend and how to remove entrenched Liberal bureaucracy from Schools, Unions, Universities, the media and the State Dept. The screaming and squealing from the hordes drown out the few that are trying to make a change. I wonder if the Liberals have passed the tipping point to where they cannot be dimihished? We need inspirational and articulate leaders, these seem to be few and far between.
