Helping Vets & Their Families
Frequent commenter and Vietnam Veteran Russ Vaughn wonders why corporations are unwilling to help vets and their families. Sad.

Disagree with this post 100%. I have found the opposite to be true. Cities, states and countries all over America give job preference to veterans. The Veterans administation gives everything from health care to disability pensions to veterans. Even some who don't deserve it.
It's the duty of all Americans to support and fight for this country and its policies. Being a veteran, particularly during wartime, is a honor not something to be exploited.

Rooster, just my opinion, but I don't think being a veteran helps you in today's ultra PC, ultra-liberalized, ultra-feminized corporate culture.

LOL I walked into My grandson's school last week to pick him up and take him to the doctor. I was wearing a T shirt my son brought back from Rifle Range at Stone Bay.
the front had an EGA the back had two rifles and a Pistol with the inscription WEAPONS TRAINING BATTALION CAMP LEJUENE N. C.
I was not greeted warmly.
In fact I had four teachers/front office employees ask me "what's your problem, what's wrong with you"
I responded, "I have no problem, what's wrong with you?"
They threw their hands in the air and said we will let it go. The one said Grandpaw don't know nothing.
I guess drawings of rifles and pistols are illegal in school also LOL

During the Vietnam era Veterans emploment rights were equal to parolled offenders just out of prison.

Barry, it was perhaps in bad taste to wear that shirt in light of shootings and massacres that have gone down at schools. Tell me differently, but you probably wore the shirt intentionally to make yourself feel macho or to prove some sort of point .... or perhaps just bored and wanting to stir up trouble? Suffice it to say it was an insensitive thing to do.
