Gun Stuff

In today's news, John Stossel blows away the gun control ninnies, and I get a new toy, but need help aiming it:

I tell ya, if the sight of a beautiful weapon like this doesn't stir your heart, there is just something VERY wrong with you. You're probably a hippie commie with serious "daddy" issues. Seek help.

2 Ragnar, look at what reticles are available in the XVII and XVIII. I own both and either is just fine for the rifle. Also look at how much elevation adjustment is available. I think I was only able to adjust out to ~700 yds with my .308 and a XVII. You can also get tapered bases or reticles with multiple aim points verticaly.

3 And liberal wussietards will want us all to turn in our guns and get tickets to some dumb ice capapdes show phooie who wants to turn in a perfectly good automantic pistol that cost you $525,00 to watch some persons jumping around on ice?

4 My 1972 700 BDL Varmintmaster .243 has a 3x9 VX-II on it, and it makes ten-shot, dime-sized holes at 100 yards from a bench. Of course, I use it for hunting deer and turkey from blinds. A serious range rat might want the VX-III, but that woudn't be me anymore. My NRA 50 foot indoor competetion days are long behind me, and big bore bench rest stuff isn't nearly as fun as, you know, killing stuff and eating it.

5 This is really gonna piss you off but Michael Moore made this same argument as 20/20 when interviewing Canadians who have just as many guns per capita as the US but almost none of the violence. Mmmmm... donuts... M Moore makes me think of donuts, not sure why.

Vancouver, BC - Restrictive firearm legislation has failed to reduce gun violence in Australia, Canada, or Great Britain. The policy of confiscating guns has been an expensive failure, according to a new paper The Failed Experiment: Gun Control and Public Safety in Canada, Australia, England and Wales, released today by The Fraser Institute. http://www.fraserinstitute.ca/shared/readmore.asp?sNav=nr&id=570
