Germany to Charge Rumsfeld Over Abu Ghraib?

Yawn. More Euorweenies doing what Euroweenies do best. I'd like to see a German court try to extradite Rumsfeld or Gonzales.

1 Makes you wonder what those idiots are thinking and whose side they're really on?

The question is, just who in the hell are they going to send over here to pick him up?

2 Could be that Nacy Pelosi will want to have first crack at them.

3 No American will be sent to Europe to face any stupid war crime tribunal. If the Democrats are stupid enough to participate in this stupidity, their reign will be the shortest in history.

I just got off the phone with my Democratic representative's local office, and his spokesman assured me that he will oppose this action and any other like it. Good on him. He is not a moonbat.

4 I'd just like to see them give a serious sentence to a terrorist that
they don't let walk.  This whole thing about indicting Rumsfeld is
just posturing and grand standing.  Screw 'em.

5 It's nothing but a farce, Oyster. The terrorists are filing a lawsuit in a German court, doing nothing more than just shopping for a jurisdiction that allows such a thing. The German Government will never allow such a thing to come to fruition.

6 Oh, and by the way, good to have you back, Oyster. I miss your intelligent comments. I wish Graeme would come back as a regular commenter.

7 Thanx, JJ.  Graeme was quick on his feet.  I liked him too.

Instead I see you have have return of the creature from the Black
Lagoon - greg.  And sundry, left thinking, dingbats who think a
quick turn of phrase, an insut and glib slogans are a substitute for
debate.  I've been hanging around Wizbang a bit and lemme tells
ya.  Their resident trolls are:

U. G. L. Y.

they ain't got no alibi

8 Is it Germany - the country? - or the UN? or the EU? that is suing? Even though it does sound ridiculous, I find this development troubling.  The left  always favors some sort of uber-state over national interests.

As if "international law" trumps national law, and national interests.   As far as I can see, really,  the only international  "law "- which trumps all else - is that "might is right."  That's why we need victory in the wars we fight.

But the left is suicidal, and does not wish America to prevail.

9 The plaintiffs are Iraqis, not Germans. The plaintiffs are supported by an American NGO, not a German NGO. They want to have a criminal investigation in Germany, but it is doubtful whether they will get one.
German prosecutors have dismissed similar cases in the past.

This is explained in more detail here:

10 Thanks, Jorg, for the info. Some of us had already figured this out.

11 thanks jorg. not all of us had.

12 Dr. S.,
Mo-slimes have tried these sort of stunts before and every time their claim has been thrown out of court.
They are just doing this as a harassment tactic against U.S. government personnel.

13 this seems rather serious to me. first off, i'm not against having
rumsfeld charged. the fact is, there were crimes committed and we can't
discount high level involvment, but I really don't think this will go
anywhere.
