Gas Prices Rising, Democrats Doing Nothing

Heh - another Democrat campaign promise broken:

A gallon of gas costs an average of $2.68 nationally and is rising -- about the same price as last spring when Democrats on the campaign trail vowed to swiftly ease the pain at the pump if elected.
The Democrats went on to win control of Congress, and the House quickly passed a bill to roll back oil subsidies, a measure leaders trumpeted as "a first step toward a future of energy independence." But months may pass before the Senate considers the bill, and analysts predict gas prices could hit $3 per gallon by summer.
[...] Mr. Townsend contends the Democrats' "CLEAN" bill, which passed the House 264-163, would have little impact because high gas prices are not the cause of record oil-company profits. He said that pump prices have nothing to do with political leaders or their bills.

Imagine that. Congress can't control the free market, and when they try, they are either ineffective or make matters markedly worse.

1 I just paid $2.93 for the "cheap stuff" in Las Vegas. My gas records from a year ago say I paid $2.50 on 3 Apr 06 for the same "cheap stuff." Thanks, Harry and Nancy! :-P

7 Paid $2.73 per gallon for diesel today. Paid $2.73 per gallon a week after Katrina when the gulf rigs and distillers and 99% of gas station were shut down. Way to go democrats. Seen Al Gore lately, He has swelled up like a pig. Global warming hasn't melted his ice cream. Cow farts are not causing global warming. Al Gore farts are.

16 I've got no love for either side, but I do care about the English language and alls I'm sayin is if the possesive form Democratic isn't palatable, then just say Democrat's but to have 'Democrat Plan' (I've seen this many times) and leave it like that just doesn't read well (I understand the name calling is important but it still makes the commentor sound uneducated). Dhimmicrat is creative. Anyway, what the hell do I know...
