(Biscarrosse, France) Sacre bleu! France is modernizing its nuclear arsenal with a new missile intended for submarine launch. Deployment is expected around 2010.

From Reuters:

France test-launched a new generation of intercontinental ballistic missiles for the first time on Thursday, eyewitnesses at the launch site said.

The M51 missile has a range of 6,000 km, 50 percent further than that of the missile currently in service.

Developed by European aerospace giant EADS, the M51 will also be able to carry a heavier load than the M45 it will replace, and be armed with up to six warheads.

In other news, rioting in city suburbs continues like clockwork, resulting in hundreds of burning cars, trucks and busses every night. As an example, police viewed the torching of 277 vehicles in one recent night as "relatively calm."

Being blamed are gangs of youths, identified only as children of immigrants, who have escalated the violence to include deliberately targeting police and other officials for attacks. French authorities are perplexed about how to respond to the violence since they haven't decided whether the rioting is caused by an underclass of domestic criminals or a "fifth column" of seditious foreigners.

I'd suggest they create a new category for the rioters. Without considering their motives, call them "Le thugs" and put them in jail.

1 I wonder how many cars are burned every night in other countries...
Did you know that less than 10% of this number is linked to social unrest? The other 90% are insurance scam, personal vengeances, accident etc.
This, of course, does not mean that there is no problem in Europe suburbs.

You're far too generous Mike.  Take each "Le thug" and use as a counter weight to balance the new French missile design - perhaps that should 'perfect' it just enough.   Test each missile by aiming each fully balanced prototype in the general vicinity of each "le thug's" ancestry.  Practice makes perfect.

3 When the Muzzies take over France, they will theoretically have these missles at their disposal. Not a very comforting thought. But other than that, I'm having a nice day. I'm off work for the next 15 days, and am looking forward to putting some meat in the freezer.

But worry not, Greg, we now have internet at our deer camp out in the woods. By a miracle of modern science, and money, we have internet coming in on the dish. Ain't that nice, so Greg and your minions, I will still be watching you.

4 Same from the Greyrooster. Only my little dish in on by boat. It works sometimes in the morning or evening with calm seas. Jesusland Joe. We have so many deer and hogs over here it's unbelieveable. Katrina destroyed hunting last year. All the trees down has created a paradise for deer and hogs. No way to go in after hogs without getting your dogs cut up and the deer don't need to come to a food plot because of the downed browse. Just wait until next year I'm going to bulldoze a path into the hammocks and set up my tree stand. Then I'll pretend the deer are democrats.
