March of the Nazi Santas

Who is behind brigades of Santa Clauses giving the Sieg Heil! Nazi salute (pic)? Der Spiegel investigates:

Christmas shoppers in Germany are horrified. Across the country, models of Santa Claus in shop windows appear to be giving the Nazi salute. Some chains have already removed them from the shelves.
The company responsible for the Fuehrer-saluting St. Nicks is unrepentant:
The toymaker behind the Nazi Santas is unimpressed with the unwanted attention their product is receiving. "We are surprised that a Santa pointing skyward has been associated with the Hitler salute," he told Bild.
What's next, goosestepping elves and reindeer wearing monocles?

1 Man...I thought Hitler'sexistence had ended the wearabilityof  a moustache style, and the respectability of the German language...but it seems to have extended to body movements and holidays.  Damage is still being done by that man...

2 It looks like he's pointing skyward to me, but I guess they're a little more sensitive to the gesture in Germany ...

3 Damn, I guess I better quit wearing the monocle then.

4 Stout Republican:

The American left is doing plenty of damage using Hitler's philosophy and tactics. I guess only the truth about Der Socialist Fuhrer is dead, not his influence.

Admit it. You're just pissed off because the toymaker didn't make manger scenes with baby Jesus in an oven.

5 Personally I think it's unfortunate coincidence, combined with PC overreaction. Santa isn't a Nazi.

On the other hand elves are part of old Norse religion (Alfar) and we know that Hitler used Norse mythical imagery (gasp) and so there may be a smoking gun ... tee .. . hee heee ... guffaw!

Anyway, I'd buy one, and drill a little socket in his hand, and put an American flag there. That ought to fix things up.

USA all the way!
