Fight! Fight! Fight!

A vacuous bimbo Fashion editor at the NYT got into a slapfight with an equally vacuous bimbo editor of the Style section.

Doesn't matter who wins, because they're all losers.

1 CLASSIC DOMINANCE STRUGGLE
The narrative says it all.  The boss is 'nice', well-liked, easily upset, in other words, not a good 'alpha' female, because she is not dominant enough to clearly control her staff.  All social animals struggle for dominance, and wolves, for example, hate to have a weak leader.  If things come to a fight (other wolf packs, predator attacks), the leader must step up, know what to do, and lead courageously from the front.  If other pack members sense weakness, they challenge because they need strong leadership to survive, so they want to step up and try it.  This is what this staff member did, obviously a dominant person, challenged the boss because she sensed weakness, and an inability to lead.
