I don't expect a consentrated effort degrade Fred until after he wins the republican nomination. That is if he can beat Giuliani.

Going through the electoral math, comparing to 2000/2004, I'm not so sure Fred can pull it off. Assuming the democrats flip Ohio (I'll put good money on this happening in all matchups except Rudy v. Hillary), what states will Fred flip to offset the lost electoral votes?
He won't appeal to the socialist cheese brains, and his southern stuff won't fly in New Jersey. Perhaps by toying with New Mexico, New Hampshire, Hawaii, etc., he might pull it off, but it looks to me like Pennsylvania is the must win state for Fred.
Rudy, on the other hand, would win in a Reagan-style landslide. I support Fred, but I really think he has to have Rudy on the ticket to win.

I don't "not like" Fred Thompson, but the buzz that has generated about him never intrigued me to him. I'm a Giuliani supporter. However, I have to think. If the Left is getting so riled up about him where even the NY Times tries to smear him, I have to think he's actually someone I should be supporting.

Wooga: That is why I've commented that I wish Giuliani and Thompson would get together. We could possible have 16 yrs of presidency. By then the friggin Clinton would be history.
