France Heading for War with Israel?

We've heard this before. But wouldn't France's quick and inevetable surrender to Israel make the Six Day War seem like the 100 Years War? HT: James FP:

France and Israel are on a collision course in south Lebanon following incidents involving Israeli warplanes over- flying the positions of the French military contingent serving with the UN peacekeeping force there.

In the most serious confrontation, French troops were said by sources in Paris to have been "just two seconds" from launching an anti- aircraft missile at two Israeli F-15 fighters carrying out mock low-level attack runs over one outpost.

2 In other news, the French claimed to be 2 seconds away from enforcing UN resolutions on Saddam Hussein right before the United States invaded.

3 So why is the IAF flying low-level mock runs on a French outpost?

Surveillance is one thing, but scaring the living daylights out of French soldiers with anti-air rockets is another.

4 2 seconds from firing an anti-aircraft missile? Let me guess. They raised a white flag in 1 second.

No doubt the French outpost wasn't anywhere near a Hizb'allah outpost. Probably at least 10 fet away.

Israel has practical battlefield experience dealing with AA missile batteries, and defeating them with air-power.  If France made a big enough mistake, their part of the peacekeeping force would be leaving in pieces.  The biggest question is WHY DOES FRANCE NEED "AA"  WEAPONS FOR A PEACE-KEEPING MISSION IN LEBANON??? Hezb'os ain't got no warplanes that I know of.

They can only be there with the intention of attacking Israeli planes.

So why would that be necessary?

USA, all the way!

6 Damn good point Michael. I guess some lefturd can explain why. Naw, they won't even try. I do wonder how many muslims are in the French military? They apparently can't find normal jobs because true Frenchmen don't wish to associate with them in the workplace.

7 Bah! French armies lost in Trafalgar, Waterloo and in June 1940 to the nazis, a sad story considering what happened to the jews under nazi occupation in the Northern Zone and under the collaborationist regime in the Nono zone. They won in Hastings, Austerlitz, Maringo, Bouvines and a few others. Now, there has been no conflict between Israel and France. Does Israel want one? Perhaps! But is it not a bit dangerous to play such a game when one is surrounded by foes. Look, friends, there is better to do, i.e. to try the President of Israel for his sexual proclivities and the PM for his corrupt practices and to continue to surround yourself with a wall. If ghettos used to be built by goim to protect and then to isolate and later on separate jews from gentiles, they are now built by the Jewish State. A very fascinating self-emprisonment, indeed! As for the future of Israel, let's hope, despite the rancour of some irritable citizens of Israel that it will not be what the Jews attending the Teheran meeting on Holocaust have in mind for it, and that there will be no jews like in Vilna, Warsau and other ghettos to hand over other jews to their enemies.

8 I think that perhaps some of the irrational behavior on the part of the Jews is the constant pressure placed on them for the last 70 years. We should not forget that they have been fighting for their lives every day for decades. Tough way to live.
